As Democratic senators begin mapping out how they will wield their limited procedural weapons in the fight over President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, they are grappling with a central question: How much legitimacy do they give his candidate?
With little power to actually derail Trump’s pick, Democrats are coming under considerable pressure from their activist base to use every tactic at their disposal to not just throw sand in the gears of the confirmation fight, but to portray the consideration of expected nominee Amy Coney Barrett as a farce that shouldn’t even occur. In a sense, they are playing the

Not much they can do with this excellent lady. If they try to smear her they will come off looking like the lowlife scum-suckers that they are.

Go ahead and try to completely destroy her. Dig up a bunch of guys that said she worked as a hooked on the stroll in Chicago and used heroin and hooked to support her habit and that she cheats on her husband and batters and abuses her elderly parents and more runs a sex trafficking operation with Gishlane Maxwell, and that she is a planted Russian operative. Go for it! Bork her real good and feel better about yourselves. I dare you.

#1, they will clearly show how bigoted they are regarding people of deep religious faith.

Every time they try to use Catholic against her, the immediate reply should be Biden and Pelosi are Catholic. They throw their supposed faith around frequently, so throw it back at ‘em.

She WILL be on the court. I actually hope that they get exceptionally mean and nasty, and manage to lose a few more Senate seats this time around, too.

The suggestion that Dims might boycott the nationally-televised confirmation hearings is ludicrous. These poseurs live for their moments on the nation's TV screens. Expect Cryin' Chuck Schumer to emote on the loss of a left-wing hero and the horror of a truly constructionist jurist who is (horrors!) a woman who has a brilliant legal career and 7 children, two of which are adopted special needs children from Haiti. Someone that virtuous simply must be smeared. I know Chuck's not on the committee, but he'll find the news crew willing to give him all the air time he wants.

I think the Dimocrats should deligitimize all of us by taking their followers with them and move to the moon. Their brains are already there.

Did the Judge adopt the Haitian children from the orphanage Hilary and Bill established? /s
But, c’mon on Hillary- take a snark at the Judge..
Let’s compare the Judge’s help to Haiti children with your track record.. please please please we would love to have records opened to your money laundering...using Haiti Children as reason for donations..

The smart move would be to ask a few good and probing questions, and then to vote. The radical base, however, will not allow this. The dems are wedded to the abortion industry, and probably won't be able to resist being maniacs right before the election.

Exactly what these 'tactics at their disposal ' remains unclear. But, legal or illegal, fair or unfair, constitutional or not these people are capable of anything nad everything.

Engage with what ?
They are 5 weeks from an election in which their jobs are on the line. They can trash a mother of seven kids who is a sitting federal judge or they can shut up and go home.
Thank you Mr. President, you outplayed them again. Let the riots begin in order to convince us normal Americans that we need Missin Joe for president.

Engage or withdraw and the painful truth is, it doesn't matter what they do. Withdrawing makes them look like lightweight cowards. Engaging with their typical smear tactics makes them look like bullies. Either way, Coney Barrett will be on the SCOTUS. Dems have nothing of value to bring to this discussion. All they can do is put on a bad show. Given the influence of the Left, that is what they will probably do. Rioting seems to be their solution of choice.
The dems are impotent and a reckoning is coming. Their misery will be deserved, prolonged, and delightful.
A side observation, it is really good that Trump nominated Kavanaugh before and Coney Barrett now. Can you imagine how insane dems would be with sexual abuse accusations at this point if Kavanaugh, or probably any man was the nominee. Appointing a woman stole one of the Left's most potent weapons.

Some could act like adults and vote yes/no on her nomination based on her qualifications. That would be the smart thing to do, because while the radical fringes make the noise in politics, the centrist mass has the votes.

Democrats, you got no ground to stand on. You are cooked. We will wait out the time, whatever, then vote the nominee onto the Supreme Court.

Haven't the socialist/dems already tried everything in their arsenal?! What more can they possibly have in their theatrical bag of tricks? After years of disrespect for life, property and this country, America is ready for a return to our traditional peace, respect for others and domestic tranquility.

If they don't want to get ground into the D.C. dirt, they had best back off...
