Bryson DeChambeau saved his best round for last at the 2020 U.S. Open, carding a 3-under 67 at Winged Foot on Sunday to claim his first career major championship. DeChambeau's closing round was just two strokes off the best 18-hole score of the week (65) as he grinded out grueling, sometimes gusty conditions with an effortless combination of his length off the tee and control around the greens. DeChambeau, who caught and then surpassed 21-year-old Matthew Wolff (the 54-hole leader), was the only golfer in the field to finish with a final-round score under par, cementing himself in the history

Bryson has an interesting concept. All his clubs less putter are the same length. There will probably be a lot more set of clubs like that sold in the coming months.

Watching him walk out of clubhouse and seeing his parents on the tv screen brought me to tears! What a lovely touch by the PGA!

Bobby Jones (another pretty good golfer) used the same length clubs. Bryson saw them at Augusta National one time and it inspired him to continue using his. Great winner!

Seems like a jerk from what I've read about him.
PGA is having to change it;s 'pace of play' rules next year due to him and couple others.
Steroids?

At the U.S. Open Golf Tournament, Tiger Woods missed the cut and was not involved in today's final round. Turning to the NFL ...

DeChambeau is actually a physicist and approaches golf based on analysis of the forces that influence a golf balls trajectory. He gained about 40 pounds for this season so that he would be able to accelerate his club speed and get greater distance which has allowed him to get closer to the pin in regulation and reduce his stroke count. It may change the way other golfers approach the game after this win.
The Wing Foot course in NY is more like a miniature golf course designed for maximum difficulty with very narrow fairways, thick roughs, and undulating greens that have almost no straight flat putting areas. This course ate the lunch of Dustin Johnson who is probably the best in the world, as well as Justin Thomas, Rory McElroy, Phil Michaelson, Tiger Woods, and Justin Rose. It was amazing that anyone shot below par let alone -6. This will establish Bryson as a hall of fame level golfer.

i watched the final round, and was pleased that I didn't hear any virtue signaling. Last week or two, with the PGA, i half expected the CEO of Coca Cola come out and wash a black man's feet. and the co-sponsor, southern Company, was just as bad/

DeChambeau was very impressive in winning today, I'm happy for him.
I'm even happier how the game is getting shaken up.

Congratulations to DeChambeau. First time I've ever heard of him, and from his name I expected him to be French or French Canadian. The board shows the truth, though. God bless America.

In all my years of competitive golf, amateur and professional, I never saw a player like DeChambeau. He really does do things his own way, from the length of his irons--they're all the same--to the way he strategizes on the course. Basically, he just grips it and rips it. If the ball finishes in heavy grass, he has the strength to force the ball out. What amazed me most was his ability to control the distance of his irons from out of the rough. Nobody can do that! (Well, maybe Bryson himself.) I think the future of the game is bright. DeChambeau and Wolff put on a good show yesterday. There are many outstanding young players. I'll be watching and commenting.
Winged Foot is one of the greatest courses in the world. The USGA needs to avoid venues like the ruined rock quarry and glorified goat ranch (Chambers Bay, 2015) and stick with truly great courses.
