Shocking video shows a bison dragging and thrashing a woman in a South Dakota state park after she reportedly got too close to a calf, as thousands have traveled to the state for an annual motorcycle rally, according to multiple reports. Footage of the Wednesday attack, captured by witness Jo Reed, shows the bison taking hold of the woman and dragging her across the street into the grass. The animal continues to violently shake and spin the woman as other bikers look on in horror, the video shows. The animal ripped off her pants before running off as onlookers describe

Since "the victim suffered injuries that were considered not to be serious", I may be able to risk an insensitive wisecrack about it being called a attempted sexual assault since her pants were ripped off. But then it WAS a female bison, though, so n e v e r m i n d.
We've been to Custer State Park and been close to them in the road, but IN THE CAR! Approaching those guys is definitely risky, Even moreso if the females have calves. Approaching a nursing female is just plain foolhardily dangerous.
This woman is one very fortunate lady.
Now about that guy with a handgun....

I'd say this victim is too dumb to be riding a motorcycle...
I drove through Custer State Park in the spring and my car was eventually surrounded by mama bison and their very young calves. It was a scary thrill, to hear the hooves approaching and the grass being munched. I sat still as a stone and enjoyed watching these great beasts!

A country kid knows NEVER try to mess with a calf, no matter how cute, because mama cow has horns and will come at you! I believe this buffalo hooked the woman's belt and couldn't get her off, finally flinging her off, sans pants.

Stupid people everywhere. More than usual I guess. Guy with the pistol is the luckiest one there. Had he attempted to kill the Buffalo with his pistol there would have been at least one dead human.

One of my retired employees witnessed a woman getting attacked by bison she got too close too trying to get a picture. That woman was not so lucky...the bison killed her.

There is a segment of people who are just stupid this way; the internet is filled with examples of such stupidity. Some animals may be very smart and very tame, but animals are not people, people!

"LIfe is hard, and it's even harder if you're stupid." Attributed to John Wayne, I have no idea if he really said it, but it is very true.
She got a lesson, and lucky it wasn't the last lesson of her life.

I wouldn't get too close to an unfamiliar cow let alone a wild bison.

The stupidity of people around wild animals, especially a cow with its calf, never ceases to amaze me. Sorry, no sympathy on this one.

This keeps happening to people visiting parks. How many videos have there been of people being flung around like rag dolls because they got too close to these animals.

"There's a certain quality in quantity." J. Stalin ... and cattle and bison have quantity when it comes to size and weight. They can kill you just by stepping on you or squashing you against a fence. There's a big difference between a 200 lb. person and a 1500 or 1 ton animal.

“.......in related news, the Associated Press later identified the woman-mauling, pants-snatching, fleeing Bison as 73 year old William Jefferson Clinton of Yellowstone National Park. Fellow bison identified Mr Clinton by the unusual bend in his ween.”

Was having lunch in a pull-off in Custer State Park during a cross country bicycle trip (1972). A herd of about 30 of those leviathans came charging out of the woods behind us to escape the bugs. The entire herd (all of which have poor eyesight) didn't see us and parted around the rocks within 2-3 ft of the rocks we were sitting on - to go roll around in the gravel/dirt road before wandering off. Still freaks me out.....
