Thousands protest in Berlin

BERLIN - Thousands protested Germany’s coronavirus restrictions Saturday in a Berlin demonstration marking what organizers called “the end of the pandemic”--a declaration that comes just as authorities are voicing increasing concerns about an uptick in new infections. With few masks in sight, a dense crowd marched through downtown Berlin from the Brandenburg Gate. Protesters who came from across the country held up homemade signs with slogans like “Corona, false alarm,” “We are being forced to wear a muzzle,” “Natural defense instead of vaccination” and “We are the second wave.”

Comments:

By no means should this comment be misconstrued as written by a medical/science professional. Some medical professionals have said wearing masks suppresses the body’s autoimmune system and when the mandate is lifted, there will be a significant increase in lung problems like bronchitis, pleurisy, pneumonia, and carbon dioxide poisoning; further, that some professionals will not submit to a vaccine. A side-effect of vaccination that can develop, which is excruciatingly painful and debilitating, is SIRVA (Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration). Without question, individuals with health issues and caregivers are encouraged to wear masks.

Those doggone suppressed people! Give them a little freedom and look what they do! Time for more government! Maybe Merkel letting in millions more refugees will help. sarcasm/off. Actually, this is quite a large demonstration. Normally, this time of year, Berlin has its huge gay parade, but last Saturday's event had to be digital. I guess the Germans feel strong enough about this issue that they defy their govt. edicts. The govt got this demonstration's organizer to "end" it because he couldn't guarantee that the people would maintain social distancing or wear masks. The police told the people that the organizer had ended it, but the people had other things in mind. In my opinion, this is a big thing.....to go against the German govt. The typical "Law and Order" German is not a myth. Several years ago, friends of mine were here in Minnesota on a visit. We were in an isolated downtown area. Not a car in sight. I casually crossed the street against a red light (jay-walked). When I got to the other side, I looked around for them. There they were.....back on the other side of the street, dutifully waiting for the "Walk" sign to appear......still no car in sight. That told me a lot about Germans (and maybe Americans).

There are only two things a German truly loves; a beer and an order. If they are protesting an order the universe must truly be sideways.

Wearing a mask is symbolism over substance. It's feel good symbolism. Almost any mask people are wearing cannot, will not, stop the spread of the Chinese virus. The micros of the virus pass right through all but a few special masks which have to be custom fitted to work. Even the N-95 masks won't completely stop the virus. These facts were explained by people who specialize in viral infections months ago when we were advised not to wear a mask. It was the primary reason for not wearing a mask, but instead keep the six feet distance between people, and wash one's hands frequently.
