The federal agents who have clashed with protesters in Portland will begin a “phased withdrawal” from the city's downtown area starting Thursday, Oregon's Democratic Gov. Kate Brown announced. Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf said in a statement that he and Brown have been in contact over the past 24 hours and reached a joint plan to end "the violent activity in Portland directed at federal properties and law enforcement officers.” “That plan includes the robust presence of Oregon State Police in downtown Portland,” Wolf said.

I'm sure, if given the authority and the resources, the Portland and Oregon State police COULD protect the federal buildings and installations there. The question is, will the Governor and Mayor/Police Chief ALLOW those good men and women to DO THEIR JOB!
I'm kind of pessimisstic about it.

OP, I live in the State of Oregon, thankfully at least an hour and a half away from Portland in Conservative Tillamook County.
Unfortunately, this is what the Federal courthouse looks like right now:

The thugs and rioters are winning thanks to Democrat governors, mayors, and city councils that are siding with them.

During the VN era anti-war protests and sit-ins on Oregon campuses a buddy told me the Oregon State Police were the last guys protestors would want to see. They were well known for clearing the mess up in a hurry would not flinch from applying force when necessary. Don't know of that applies to today's situation.

Would hope the Feds are hanging out down around the corner if Oregon can't keep its end of the 'bargain'.
Or some helicopters with neutron weapons....

According to Trump and Wolf, they aren't going anywhere. Brown is a liar, and she needs to be booted from office. Worst, most wasteful politician to ever sit in the chair of governor.

And I will bet that within three days, the courthouse will be burned to the ground.

So, in other words, they are giving President Trump exactly what he wanted in the beginning.
He told them to stop the violence or he would send in the federal agents to do it. They refused to stop the violence, so he sent in the federal agents. If they had just agreed to do this from the start, no federal agents would have ever had to be there.
I expect some serious bragging tweets from President Trump in 3-2-1...

#2- Post and link appreciated, but cannot run video; get a bounce-back to this website.
Just watched a ten minute video by an unidentified gentleman quite knowledgeable about the riots in Portland saying that, initially, he could not understand why President Trump was not doing something forceful to end the riots but, as time has gone on, he has come to appreciate what he calls the brilliance of President Trump’s handling thus far and hopes the restraint continues because more and more people are seeing this for what it is—politics. He said these people want another Kent State, to have someone shot and killed for the optics to use against President Trump before the November election.

OP - Don't kid yourself, the state will vote for Joe Biden. There may be a small contigency of conservatives left in the more rural areas, but in the cities and 'burbs, they're all strident leftists or pansy liberals (who lack a spine).

Trust they'll be removing all of the Court documents that are needed for safe keeping, and presumably a resumption of trials that have been suspended.
Just wait until these cities look to purchase insurance coverage. Same with businesses and individuals in that entire state.

I don't care if these terrorists burn the whole city of Portland to the ground. Just don't come with your hands out, asking for federal money to rebuild. Someone said earlier, close the airport and pull all federal funds and federal workers out of Portland and set up shop in some conservative friendly local.

If the governor and mayor save the courthouse, it is only because their hands were forced by Trump. Win! I don't think that is going to happen. I think the mob will falsely think they have a win and become more aggressive and the courthouse will be destroyed. The governor and mayor now look really incompetent. Win! Win!

It will be interesting to see how this unfolds—whether or not Oregon’s governor and State Police will be able to contain the rioters. DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolf makes clear that the Department of Homeland Security “will not back down from our legal duty to protect federal law enforcement officers and properties in the face of such criminal behavior.” Have innocent victims of these rioters had enough of the destruction, intimidation, and violence? It will be interesting to see how the state of Oregon votes on November 3rd—for President Trump or for Joe Biden.
