Tell the insurance companies that they must pony up the money for the damages. Especially, if they kowtow to BLM or supply any support (verbal or monetary), then they are REALLY on the hook.

When I was in the Army over fifty years ago, one of the first things we were taught is that you never poop in your mess kit. That’s essentially what the mostly all Black rioters did who burned down and looted the commercial business areas, including critical drug and grocery stores, that served adjacent low income and Black communities , and it is almost for sure that most of those destroyed businesses will not be rebuilding in those low income and Black community areas, as for one thing, they will be unable to secure affordable insurance to protect their assets and property, as the commercial insurance companies will not insure losses caused by urban unrest or outright rioting and looting. If things follow true to course we are going to be hearing about all the “food deserts” that have suddenly popped up in low income and Black communities in the inner cities without it being mentioned that those are the places where the 2020 rioting and looting took place.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday struck down a Louisiana law regulating abortion clinics, reasserting a commitment to abortion rights over fierce opposition from dissenting conservative justices in the first big abortion case of the Trump era. Chief Justice John Roberts joined with his four more liberal colleagues in ruling that the law requiring doctors who perform abortions have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals violates the abortion right the court first announced in the landmark Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. In two previous abortion cases, Roberts had favored restrictions. The Louisiana law is virtually identical to one in Texas that the court struck down in 2016.

Conservatives were outraged eight years ago when Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts voted with the liberals on the court to uphold Obamacare's individual mandate. His swing almost singlehandedly saved the Affordable Care Act. A few years removed and he made a few better decisions, somewhat appeasing conservatives. But last year he helped kill the census citizenship question. Then, last week, he voted with liberals to reject President Trump's attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. The court didn't say that Trump couldn't reverse the program, but that his legal reasoning wasn't up to par.
