Welcome to the CHAZ, the newly named Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, where most everything was free Tuesday.
Free snacks at the No-Cop Co-op. Free gas masks from some guy’s sedan. Free speech at the speaker’s circle, where anyone could say their piece. A free documentary movie — Ava DuVernay’s “13th” — showing after dark.
A Free Capitol Hill, according to no shortage of spray paint on building facades. And perhaps most important to demonstrators, the neighborhood core was free of uniformed police.

If it were up to me I'd shut every essential service available and cut off all deliveries to this "America Free" zone.
No water, electricity, gas, internet, etc. for a few days might soften them up a little.

What gives anyone the impression that a significant number of Seattle residents give a damn? As the article notes, this "takeover" has several precedents, which ended with the protesters eventually getting what they wanted. Why should this end any differently? Seattle is not a Republic...it's a democracy with elected mayor and council. Seems they're copacetic. And if it blows up...?

Yesterday I saw that the homeless people they invited into their Zone stole all their food.
CHAZ produces no food, they have no farmland.
CHAZ produces no electricity, they have no power plants.
CHAZ produces no potable water, they have no wells or treatment plants.
CHAZ produces sewage, but they have no treatment plants.
What could possibly go wrong??
CHAZ are parasites upon America, the land they hate.

Soon enough their own anarchy, and their violent (and vile) nature will take over. I can't see the Times without shutting down my ad blocker, and I have done it a few times before and regretted wasting the time on their propaganda.
I'm sure that soon the people and businesses will be getting "taxed", probably at first in food and free goods, but soon enough in money, "to support the revolution". And soon enough, someone will get crossways with the thugs in charge and get killed. Just watch. This will get a lot worse before it gets better.
Anarchy is always pretty......anarchical. And that will be very ugly.
Soon enough, people will be longing for the ability to call the police.

Free eventually runs out; and when it does, who will they demand it all from? And will those under their demands comply? For how long? This is laughable. but right now, I'm loving it.

Article says police are still responding to 911 calls so No Police means No Police Until You Need Some. How about this ? Start burning two houses a night and see if any police show up.

Wow. Everything is FREE!
Of course,it's an unsustainable illusion, like the pleasures of a drug trip. It's all free because it's all being brought in and donated from outside where someone worked to create it. Utopian communes and festivals, like Burning Man, create fake paradise, bubbles that soon pop. But the mush-brained young people involved say, "See! This is how we should all live all the time. Everything is free, and we all get to do whatever we want!"

“I support this, but what’s next?”
Uh... that's one of the questions you answer up front, before you pull a stupid stunt like this. The woman handing out fresh fruit will be a short-lived event. The love fest will be over in less than a week.

I just had a text chat with my 33-year old son who lives higher up on Capitol Hill with his wife. He doesn't take it very seriously and said it will all spiral out eventually, although it would suck to actually live within the CHAZ. I pray every day that they will come back to the east coast to live. Seattle, with all its geographical beauty, has become a cesspool of commies and the homeless mentally ill. I don't know how they can stand it.

What a load of hogwosh from this super-woke "journalist" -- he never mentions the Governor of the state and mentions the Mayor and Police Chief almost in passing. The Police Chief gets a quote or two at the end. He doesn't even try to find one citizen of Seattle who may be sincerely opposed to this lawlessness. If I lived in Seattle -- or even the burbs -- I'd flee and never look back.
