LOS ANGELES — “This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private.” That’s what it says right under “Federal Reserve Note” and “The United States of America.” (Snip) The Almighty Dollar has lost some of its might in the time of COVID-19. While most struggling businesses will take payment in any form to make ends meet during the economic downtown, a minority reject cash, fearing that it could be a transmission vehicle for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Some experts predict that the pandemic will accelerate a steady flight by American consumers away from dollars and cents.

Don't want your cash? Give it to me!
I wouldn't be surprised if the lefties will try to use COVID to try to force us into cashless society ...and then RFID chip implants. NO cashless society!!! No implants! No mark of the beast!

No one has objected to taking my cash. I think "experts" are just writing articles so they can be called experts.

On a good day, money - coins and currency - is considered to be dirty. There will always be some who will want to exploit this…and bored media hacks to write about it.

If they don't like the cash, pack it up, and ship it to me.

One of the planks of communism is a cashless society. They never miss an opportunity to push for that. As for me, I haven't had any trouble finding people to take my cash. In fact nobody has hesitated in the slightest.

Many credit card companies charge merchants processing fees. There is a hidden cost to be cashless.
I prefer cash for everyday purchases at stores.

I'm with #10, this is another opportunity to implant the idea for a cashless society.
A nice neighbor, early 40s, dropped by a few weeks ago to pay her road association dues. We were outside in our driveway and she was fully masked and gloved. She was very keen on letting TK and I know that she had "washed" the cash. TK joked that he had no idea she was into money laundering. She didn't get the joke, and proceeded to tell us how she sprayed it with alcohol and let the bills dry. It was very hard not to laugh, I had to turn away and pretend to call the dog.
Yesterday TK stopped in at the hardware/lumber place in the small town nearest us, the next was 20 miles away. For a $16 dollar purchase of brackets he had to put it on a credit card because they would not take cash. This is in a remote mountainous county with only 25 cases, 3 hospitalizations and no deaths. However, we are 70% Dim voters. Welcome to my world.

"In a pandemic, no one wants to touch it." Ha. Tell that to the convenience store owner down the street from me that I visit every day. By the way, he and the other workers there have been there during all this lock down bs, and none of them have ever worn a mask.

I pay workers who come to my home in cash. If they own their own companies...bug benefit!!! Not ONE has refused such payment and we will continue with this practice. We also pay MORE than they ask for. Service is always excellent!
