To understand why people destroyed parts of Minneapolis, we must look at the past. (snip)
Words delivered by civil rights icon Dr. Marin Luther King Jr. nearly 53 years ago still speak to what's happening now. (snip) In his speech, "The Other America," from 1953, King said the following:
"I think America must see that riots do not develop out of thin air. In the final analysis, the riot is the language of the unheard."

Stick your black outrage where it’s dark and damp! Your right to express your grievances stops right at the shopkeeper’s door! Those Koreans in the ‘95 L.A. Rodney King riot sure didn’t feel your pain! They never owned slaves, so why target people like them?

One black woman protester was interviewed on the street and said, "We tried MLK's way and it didn't work so now we're trying Malcolm X's way". By that I think she meant revolution "by any means necessary". Unfortunately, her education regarding Malcolm X ended with his early militant years and didn't cover his last years when he abandoned violence for his Islamic failth. Of course that didn't work out too well for him either but at least he understood the futility and moral contradiction of violent revolution.

Oh pleeze. Some of us were alive when MLK was cheating on his wife. This is about free stuff and destroying other people's property for a feel good moment. If you asked those rioters and looters the victim's name they couldn't tell you. This is the direct result of bending over backwards and handing out free stuff to minorities their whole life. No work ethic, no respect for the hands that feed them.

FTA: "In the final analysis, the riot is the language of the unheard."
I don't know about that. It seems I've been hearing (and paying for) "racism", "you (whites) owe us", affirmative action, poor downtrodden minority, etc. for several decades, now.

Rioting, looting, and burning. A sure way to get white folks to respect the black community.

In the same speech Dr. King also said
"Let me say as I’ve always said and I will always continue to say that riots are socially destructive and self-defeating. I’m still convinced that nonviolence is the most potent weapon available to oppressed people in their struggle for freedom and justice. I feel that violence will only create more social problems than they will solve. That in a real sense it is impractical for the Negro to even think of mounting a violent revolution in the United States. So I will continue to condemn riots and continue to say to my brothers and sisters that this is not the way. And continue to affirm that there is another way."
They never seem to read and understand that part.
You do not help your case by acting like the criminals some people say you are. You simply confirm the bias and reaffirm their mistrust of your community and apathy at your condition.

I'm nowhere Minneapolis, But after watching this kind of stuff for many years than I care to admit to, I would guarantee that the vast majority of the rioting and chaos is stimulated and promoted by WHITE communists and anarchists.
Some blacks are obviously there as the shock troops. But it's the white rads that are stoking the flames. Figuratively and literally.

I'd have a lot more sympathy for this whole situation if it wasn't for the fact that it doesn't really matter to them (the blacks) if the cops or whoever are guilty or not. Whenever something like this happens they demand "justice" for the black person and proceed to riot and loot. In this case it appears as if they have every right to be angry but they do not have the right to express that anger in ways that are, to put it charitably, wholly against the law. The cops have been fired. There is an investigation. Unless and until there is an announcement they have been cleared they should make their feelings known in lawful ways and wait to see what happens. There is evidence of wrongdoing and they would have a lot more support if they would let things happen and not get all twisted up unless they don't charge them. In any case rioting and looting is just plain wrong.

What do the riots in various cities have in common? They are run by democrats. Why riot? There is no accountability. Millions of dollars in damages and few if any arrested or prosecuted. Democrats not only by votes with other peoples money but they buy votes with other peoples property and livelihoods. They tacitly approve of the chaos and crime while pandering to selected voters and do very little in the way of really addressing problem areas. Black Community "leaders" don't escape blameless. Can anyone tell me what they have really done beside incite racial hate.

It's things like this that make me want to move out of this country. Democrats and other liberals have done so much damage to the basic fabric of our society. This isn't the America I grew up with and loved. Filthy rap music on the radio, homosexual lifestyles treated as healthy and normal, the open attacks against Christians, the dishonest America-hating media, a permanent minority underclass that gets everything for free and still demands to be treated like sacred cows, the destruction of the traditional family and so much more evil. How did we get here? I'm getting older and I might retire in eastern Europe.

The liberals have convinced a large segment of our society that they are victims, and as such, they can never be blamed for their actions.

Stop pretending Martin King was a saint. He was a demagogue whose activities resulted in the wholesale destruction of many US cities and the permanent relegation of millions of black people to misery. A 20 year old black guy is much more likely to be killed or be in jail today than one in 1950 or 1920. This will never stop happening as long as jerks like King and Malcom Little are held up as paragons.
