HARRISBURG — Gov. Tom Wolf issued a stern rebuke against Pennsylvania counties and businesses that plan to reopen without state approval, calling it a “cowardly act” that could cost those areas not only lives but federal stimulus money, too. Over the past week, a host of lawmakers, district attorneys, and law enforcement agencies in counties still under strict COVID-19 closure orders said they planned to defy Mr. Wolf and unilaterally move themselves to the next phase of the governor’s reopening plan. State officials have given 37 counties the go-ahead to ease restrictions, lifting the stay-at-home order and allowing some businesses

Gov Wolf is basing his authority on an emergency declaration---but there is no longer any emergency. This should be immediately challenged in court. It is unconstitutional to declare an emergency that lasts forever.

Will PDT withhold federal funds from PA if the wolf thinks he can pick and choose who gets the federal money?

Good Grief! What a fuss over nothing. I live in Florida! I just returned from getting a Hair Cut! Yay! The Salon opened today. They had a bottle of Hand Sanitizer sitting on a little table outside the door with a sign asking all of us to wash our hands before entering the Salon. Once inside, I had my temp taken. It was okay! Everyone wore a mask including me. I didn't think my Stylist could work around it, but she did! Everything was great. Every other chair was in use. So, what in the world is the Big deal of places opening so they don't lose their business? Lets move on!

I have to post this anonymous letter I saw on Facebook:
FOR THOSE CRYING FOR THE COUNTRY TO REMAIN SHUT DOWN, PLEASE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS:
1) How many children should starve in order to make you feel safe?
2) How many families must go bankrupt in order to make you feel safe?
3) How many business owners should lose everything they've worked for in order to make you feel safe?
4) How many people have to lose their jobs, their health insurance, their life savings, to make you feel safe?
Come up with the number of people that you think should surrender their lives for YOUR feelings and YOUR safety.
Does it make you feel safer knowing that your unwarranted fear and panic are costing others their livelihoods and even their own lives?
Each time you complain about keeping the country shut down, remember what it's costing OTHER people.
Also, remember this - if the TV news had never told you to be afraid of this virus, you wouldn't have. You'd have never given it a thought, you'd have gone about your life as usual along with everyone else. You'd likely have never known there was a virus at all, you’d have thought that this was just another type of Flu. So, remember that all your fear and panic exists because you were TOLD to live in fear and panic. Regardless of whether things reopen or not, you still have the choice to stay home and not go places if you feel that is what is best for you and your family. Let those who feel they need to make a living to feed their families go back to work!

My county is one of those rebelling; glad our leaders are standing up for us! I have friends who own businesses in York county so I hope their leaders follow us and do the same. This will not stop until WE stop it.
I'm glad PDT took notice.

Funds being denied is all political when it comes to distribution and how you vote. Opening up these counties is not selfish and unsafe. It is self preservation and economic survival. We want our state and way of life back. We are country folk, not city dwellers.

Didn’t the federal government allow West Virginia to split from Virginia once upon a time? Is it time for West PA yet? Basically everything west of Philadelphia should do.

The counties are doing to him what he is doing to the POTUS. I have always wondered where does this authority to declare an indefinitely lasting emergency come from ? While it is true the States wield the residual and unlimited powers belonging to the people. There must be some rules, laws that govern their usage.

Drop dead, governor. You are wrong. And your "subjects" are discovering that they are citizens.
If there is anything that human being are, when the chips are REALLY down, it is selfish, if you include the family in that "self". When there isn't going to be enough money....do you keep it for your family or give it away? When there isn't going to be enough food, give it away or keep it for your family?
This is the root human driving force, to work for the benefit of self and family, and it is the reason that capitalism works - people working for their OWN good and their family's good. And when we ALL do that, we create a situation where there is enough to go around, "a rising tide lifts all boats".
So, yeah, they want their freedom, they want their jobs, their businesses, whatever it is that they CHOOSE to be the most important for themselves, and if that takes a little bit of risk---well, really, HOW IS THAT DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER DAY?

How democrat of Gov. Wolf, threatening to withhold funds if the people don't do what he wants. Like Jugears and his administration threatening to withhold funds from a state that wouldn't allow men in the girls bathrooms. And yet, it's illegal for President Trump to withhold federal funds from a state that declares itself a sanctuary state. Rules for me, but not for thee?

Bravo 17 Post of the day.
One other question, not to #17 but the ruling class ...
Should all the Police, Firefighters, Military and an awful lot of other dangerous professions stay home safe and let their families go unhoused and hungry ? Ooops I forgot. They're ESSENTIAL, to YOU.
I doubt the governor's chef is staying home.

Calling people ‘cowardly’ and ‘selfish’ for wanting to go back to work to feed their families is a great example of the cowardice and selfishness of the Democrats.

2nd Post: Saint Cuomo is still attempting to keep NYS locked down by requiring even more steps for businesses to open. He's up to 9 now; by next week it'll be 18.

About time Fascist politicians and activist judges became aware that they are powerless if those charged with enforcing the law refuse to do it on the grounds that their ultimate responsibility is to the people and not to pompous "tin pot" dictators.

Wolf is demonstrating the profound impotence of governors. With all power in Washington, people are beginning to realize how hollow states really are.
