What About Andrew Cuomo?

Vice President Biden is due Monday to begin giving briefings on the coronavirus crisis so as to appear like a shadow president. There’s just one problem. Sleepy Joe, as President Trump likes to call him, has been upstaged by none other than Andrew Cuomo. It seems the doughty Democratic governor of New York has emerged as a star, while Mr. Biden is still getting a studio set up in his home. Maybe Mr. Cuomo is the one whom the Democrats should run against Mr. Trump. He has been out there every day of late with detailed updates, wise asides, references to his time in Washington, and commentary on the Constitution.

Comments:

Sorry. He's a terrible governor, What happened to the missing billions when he was head of HUD?. Liberal hack.

I do get a kick out of Sleepy Joe Biden's excuses, though. He can't manage Facebook video ... and he blames the "low ceilings" in his mansion. Last week he was complaining about the technological challenges posed by living in Delaware.

I live in Florida. I don't need to see Cuomo giving his briefing every day on how New York is doing. And, why is he getting the Air Time. Do all of the other governors get the same amount of time? answer. No! So Cuomo drones on and on and on every day. I turn him off. I'm not interested in what he has to say. He is NOT president of this country. Neither is Biden. So I will tune him out as well!

He will get elected on his good looks alone! Never ever forget that when his father was running against Ed Koch for NYC Mayor, it was good old Andy who came up with the slogan "Vote for Cuomo not the Homo!" How was your time at HUD Andy? And when he appointed the Morland Commission to find corruption in NYS government, and they found it - it pointed back to him - he disbanded the commission. Hey Andy, how did you BROTHER get into Yale? How did he graduate?

All the NeverTrumpers, Criminal Deep Staters and Demonrats are rapidly coalescing around Cuomo. It has been obvious for some time that both Biden and Bernie are completely unelectable. I really wondered what in the heck Fox News was doing giving Cuomo a couple of million dollars in free advertising with his rambling, uninteresting blather about New York on national news for several days in a row. Then it dawned on me, Paul Ryan, now in charge at Fox News, has selected Cuomo to replace Dumb Ol' Joe and needs to pump him up, so lots of free air time.

Yes OP he is a terrible governor, he is corrupted completely. However I do believe he is being road tested by the DNC to see how the public likes him. They might not dump Biden, but I would bet that Cuomo is being lined up to be the VP pick, and thus their real candidate for president. This seems to me to be the most logical reason for Cuomo's suddenly acting like a moderate, especially after he signed that Ode to Infanticide bill so proudly.

You have to wonder about the Fox News Channel these days, as they just gave Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York about an hour or so free exposure on their channel nationally as introduced his daughter, and rambled on grandstanding regarding the corona virus in New York that has more virus cases then any other State. Then about a half hour later when President Trump’s economic advisor Larry Kudlow appeared on the Fox News Channel and was immediately told by a Fox talking head that he only had a very limited time to explain the President’s complex economically related legislative plans that are now being held up by the Congressional Democrats?

A corrupt Thug who drives the state deeper and deeper into debt as he insults NY taxpayers who might disagree with this mental defective. How great is the Thug? NY will lose ANOTHER representative thanks to the NY rat organization the Cuomo family has infected the state with for decades. You want a fun news conference? Ask him about Sheldon Silver and the corrupt RINO bag man that used to meet with him. They are in prison and yet he isn't. Ask him about why the corruption commission wasn't able to finish its job. His maniacal responses would be good TV, but don't count on the 'tough' NY press to ever badger him. They only toughen up when this President is in town.

If it weren’t for the coronavirus outbreak, this week would mark the opening of the Major League Baseball season. Instead the league has indefinitely postponed opening day, deferring to a recommendation from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to cancel gatherings of more than 250 people. The effect has been to consign America to a spring without baseball. Luckily, just in time comes an article in a prestigious British medical journal, The Lancet, by a distinguished group of authors including Brian McCloskey of Chatham House and Anita Cicero of Johns Hopkins University. The authors represent the World Health Organization’s Novel Coronavirus-19 Mass Gatherings Expert Group.

Give Joe Biden some credit. On Jan. 27, he published an op-ed in USA Today recognizing that the coronavirus outbreak could become a big problem. But he devoted nearly the entire piece to bashing President Trump, then fighting off impeachment from Biden's old Democratic colleagues on Capitol Hill, and nearly none of it to explaining what he, Joe Biden, would do to fight the pandemic. Since then, where has Biden been? It's been eight weeks since the Iowa caucuses, when Biden began a terrible stretch at the polls that threatened his presidential candidacy. After he swept the Arizona, Florida and Illinois primaries on Tuesday night, presumed Democratic nominee Joe Biden delivered a victory speech to a camera. For obvious reasons, there was no audience. Speaking in a quiet, somber tone, he ended his speech saying, “Thank you all. Thank you all for listening.” He stood there, motionless, staring ahead as if in a trance. Was he waiting for applause? Entering from stage right came Jill Biden to break this strange silence. Somewhat startled by her sudden appearance, he smiles, says “Thanks. Thanks.”

This week, President Donald Trump came under fire for his use of the phrase "Chinese virus" to describe the coronavirus, the source of the new pandemic that has led to a global economic shutdown as well as lockdowns of citizens in every major Western country. That media have somehow found time to hone in on the one issue that matters least -- the labeling of a Chinese virus as such -- in the middle of an unprecedented planetwide freeze demonstrates the utter unseriousness of those objecting. That the term should be controversial at all is nearly beyond belief. The virus did indeed originate in China.

A few weeks ago, Hindu friends and colleagues in India turned to me in desperation about the way in which the Western media has been covering the latest chapter in the forever ongoing Hindu-Muslim wars. Every single article in the mass media has blamed Hindus only and has presented the Muslims as the most innocent and non-violent of beings. Missing entirely is the history of eight hundred years of Muslim persecution of Hindus in India; what happened in 1948 that led to partitioning India into a Hindu state and into two Muslim states: Pakistan and thereafter, Bangladesh, both states where Hindus and Christians are persecuted.

It's an indisputable fact that the Democratic Party has moved left in recent years. Now, the party is about to choose a standard-bearer, in the person of former Vice President Joe Biden, and what has become clear is that Biden has not only shifted left with his party over the years, he has taken significant leftward steps in recent weeks. Three examples. First, for years, Biden has defended the Obama administration's record on deportations against those on the left who criticized President Barack Obama as the "deporter in chief." Then came last month's Nevada caucuses.
