It started with a jails investigator in an office three miles from Rikers Island. Then, a correction officer at a security checkpoint near the entrance to the jail complex got it. Hours later, it was an inmate in a crowded housing unit. Yeah, lets make sure all those infected inmates are set free. I'm sure they will all self-quarantine and pose no risk to the public.

This, of course, is concerning to the NYTwits. After all, inmates are their most reliable and loyal peeps.

So keep them locked in their cells for a few weeks, no big deal. Just no chance to intermingle.
This is not rocket science.

I can now imagine that Gov. Blago is glad as hell to have gotten out of the joint and praises the President every day for the pardon.

Send them all to Africa to help catch the locusts. That's my idea of a prison work program.

But isn't jail the ultimate "lockdown, quarantine, and social distance enforcer"? Why would you turn them loose but keepeveryone else locked down, Governor?

Go Head, New York City. Make our day. Release all these criminals onto the streets. Yes. They will all suddenly decide to be law abiding citizens. Not to worry. Most of you have been disarmed in the name of "safety." You should be thankful for your government because they are out for your "best interest." And when these criminals go to the black market looking for weapons, you will be sitting at home with your butter knife waiting for an attack. And your cops have been order not to go after such trifling crimes as theft. Dont bother calling 911. The operators will only be able to say that you are on your own. Every man for themselves. You, your family, and your butter knife.

A storm is coming alright. One of the democrats own making. Combine this with the DA's who have already said they won't prosecute most of the low level crimes and you indeed have a storm in the making. So tell me DA's are you going to prosecute the people who defend themselves? That is what the UK does now, and is that what they are angling for for here in America? Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, whole unpopulated, unsecured and gleaming commercial districts in those same cities, stuffed with retail goods or modern office equipment, sit empty like lambs waiting for the slaughter. Thousands of cold, hungry homeless people with no handouts from passing cars joined on the street by thousand of convicted criminals. What could possibly go wrong?

I have really never paid attention but they must have outbreaks of the yearly flu and we don't let all the prisoners out to cause havoc.

A public health catastrophe?!? I think not. A few good souls will go down with the ship....can't be avoided. But since they probably mostly share cells, they'll likely only lose about 1/2 of them.
