Sen. Bernie Sanders has put nationalizing health insurance at the center of his presidential campaign, but his proposal to fight climate change also calls for a government takeover of a fundamental segment of the economy — electricity production. Sanders has laid out a $16 trillion climate change plan that would transition U.S. electricity generation away from fossil fuels to renewable resources like wind, solar and hydropower by 2030. That’s far faster than any other Democratic candidate's target and sets a pace that rivals like former Vice President Joe Biden say is unrealistic. And like Sanders' healthcare plan, the green energy

That is sure to put the country on the slide to Venezuela. You can’t get any more communist than that! Can you imagine having a Bernie radical in a Che t-shirt in charge of the Department of Confiscation?

The long march of socialism through our culture produced this lunatic’s following, the most misinformed and irrational cohort in history. Purposefully blind to the reality that collectivism as a philosophy has killed more people in a shorter period of time than the bubonic plague.

This is a brilliant move by Bernie!
There is a vast, trained cadre of clerks at the motor vehicle bureaus and post offices - - who can jump in and run the power grid at a moment's notice. And all of the profits will go to the people - - and not to the rich.
Power grid to the people!

So we need more "hydro" power ? Ask the people who live upstream from the dams. Good luck building one of those these days. More nuke power ? We have reactors small enough to fit on a submarine that could power a city. Good luck building one of those. We have relatively clean and cheap natural gas gen plants because the enviro pipe dreams can't keep up and DON"T WORK.

Bernie has carefully crafted his persona as a socialist hero to the masses but it is a total con job. His gambit is to say ridiculous things like this to garner votes from young useful idiots while taking donations and working hand in glove with the very capitalist pigs that he is attacking. If Sanders ever got elected he would continue this theatrical impersonation of a 30s radical while manipulating laws and regulations behind the scenes that benefit his political donors. They have worked out a clever scheme to break up their donations into lots of small checks to look like grass roots support but it is a joke to the insiders. His wife Jane is also a complete crook who has made millions as Bernie's "media buyer" which enables her to take a 15% cut of all campaign ad money he spends while only reporting that she makes > $1000. The campaign finance laws have been rigged to hide this scam from financial reporting requirements and is used by most of the other Democrat candidates to funnel money to their family members. Read Peter Schwizer's book and you will be amazed at the way this corrupt system is being gamed by "progresives".

Ask the people in California how they like their electric power regulated. Any time high winds are in the forecast, the electric grid is shut down for 3 days. no power to wash clothes, cook, or even heat the house. And the people have no say in the power shut down. Its for their own "good"

Governor Gavin is poised to have the state of CA take over PG&E, which would establish a heck of a precedent for doing it and a case-study example for how to do it (or how not to do it, depending on how his self-glorifying move works out here)
And somebody really needs to impress upon Bernie that there aren't enough 'renewable' sources of power to replace so-called fossil fuels entirely. His pipe dream is such a nightmare, I can't help but wonder what's in that pipe. (The crackpot must be smoking crack and/or pot.)

You control the power grid. You control Healthcare. The only thing remaining is to control the private ownership of firearms so the population can't do anything about it. What's Bernie's position on the 2nd Amendment? That pretty much sums it up.

First you'll need to build a power plant to power the printing plant to print the money this guy thinks the USA has. The Democrat's campaign slogan should be "Hey, it's only money!"

This clearly has to be stopped. We will not go from a free market economy to communism with one stupid selection by young kids who are fools. We need the largest turnout of voters in 2020 to create a 50 state win in the electoral college for the greatest President of my lifetime, President Donald J. Trump. Convert your friends and family and make sure you show up and vote.

All in the name of saving the planet, but its nothing more than a tyrannical play for power, wealth, control, and influence.

I recommend that all Bernie supporters spend two weeks in Cuba. Not in the military run resorts, but in the casa particulares (Air BnBs) with real Cubans. No power, no eggs, not bread, no rice and no hope.
Anyone supporting socialism after that should be considered mentally insane.

2030?? This aging communist won’t be alive in 5 years, let alone 10. He won’t even win the presidency in 2020. So he can promise a socialist paradise but he’ll never be able to enact his cruel plans.
Our worry has to be keeping one and ideally both chambers of Congress in saner hands.

At least Bernie is honest admitting he is a Marxist Communist democrat.
Promising everything will be utopia like heaven on earth when Marxist Communist democrats and Rino's destroy's our Constitution and Bill of Rights for the downfall of American freedom. Completed by those people who vote themselves and everyone else into the slavery giving up their freedom for the false promise by Marxist Communist democrat government of "we the Marxist Communist democrat government leadership will provide your every need and want for as long as you live."
From servitude to individual freedom.
From individual freedom which means responsibility for one's self and work.
Back to servitude to Marxist Communist government because this time they did promise to take care of everyone forever.

When our 'betters', the elites and politicians stop using anything powered by fossil fuel, and use the same healthcare and retirement plans they deem good enough for us, and they get rid of all their armed guards, their many homes and the fences and gates around those homes, give me a call and I'll see what I can do!

The Bernie financial estimate is woefully short. The structural cost to America...intolerably high. The outcome? Predictably dismal..a sputtering grid, capacity shunted to a favored few, and worse.

Is there a few hundred acres somewhere in the US that Bernie can buy? He can set up his utopia. People can CHOOSE to be part of his community. They can fund the place themselves rather than using the US Treasury.

Where are all of these windmills and solar panels going to be installed? In your community? On your house? In your backyard? In the ocean? (Environmentalists don't want them there.) You won't have a choice, they will just do it.
