A few hundred concerned citizens huddled in a gymnasium in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood hoping for answers from police about a recent spate of robberies in the downtown area and other parts of the Near North Side. Police sought to bring a sense of calm while appealing for help from the standing room-only crowd that overflowed into the lobby of the Lake Shore Park field house. “We are having people sitting in their cars targeting people and drive around. You see the same car drive around four or five times. That is something that we need to know,” Chicago police

FTA: 'Robberies have more than doubled in the last five years in this swath of Chicago’s central business district and some of the city’s most affluent neighborhoods, including Gold Coast, Streeterville, Magnificent Mile, River North and several others.' Like Willie Sutton said: because that's where the money is! Maybe now that the rich, connected, liberal Eloi are being victimized by the Moorlocks, something will be done about it.

FTA: "Victims should try their best to remember a suspect’s description. Accurately recalling three features would be better than 10 vague ones, police said." I'm thinking a few .45 in holes might serve as good identifiable features. But alas my travels to that local require me to enter facilities where the powers that be think they are safer if I'm not armed.

NORTH PALM BEACH, Fla. -- There is not much vanity on display in the Nicklaus home, the one that overlooks a pool and Lake Worth Lagoon, a waterway to the Atlantic Ocean and where the most accomplished golfer in the game's history has resided since 1970. Jack Nicklaus moved here just after he won The Open that year over Doug Sanders in a playoff at St. Andrews, where he flung his putter in the air and nearly conked himself in the head, a moment of joy that has lived on in highlight video for decades. It's a stereotype, but it's true — Canada's winters are cold. And many of us stay toasty by burning fossil fuels such as natural gas in our furnaces or the boilers that feed our radiators. In an effort to cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and meet targets to reduce global warming, the U.K. has proposed banning fossil fuel-based heating in new homes by 2025. Cities in the states of California, Washington and Massachusetts are also trying to phase out natural gas. If your home is hooked up to a district heating system, where a utility supplies heat directly, you may
