Cory Booker has become the latest Democratic presidential candidate to back unionizing entire industries by supporting a concept called "sectoral bargaining." The idea dates back to the 1930s and involves the federal government creating union-management committees that would set wages and other work standards. The change, if adopted, would radically shift the business landscape across the U.S. Under sectoral bargaining, unions would be granted enormous power over industries, while businesses would be strictly limited in the workplace policies they could adopt. All workers in an industry would be represented by the union officials on the committees. The New Jersey senator

Unions are the worst. Probably the biggest single reason so many American manufacturing jobs went overseas.

Unions destroy everything, that is the hard, factual history of unions.
We need more Right-to-Work states, where unions cannot force you to join.

How well I remember when we went without necessities when the UAW called a strike and scheduled my Dad to walk the picket line. Then I remember having to join the union, working for $0.89/hour, sacking groceries at Kroger. They didn’t do jack**** for me., only took my money. I remember getting my car vandalized by the union in Detroit because I had a Goldwater bumper sticker. Corey is a fool!

High tax states are looking for ways to keep business from moving to other states. By national unions they can control the work force.

We have learned over the course of decades how useless and destructive unions are, especially those backed by the Mafia. Now they are run by the Liberal Mafia and the Gay Mafia, especially schools. It's all the same. They support the bottom ten percent of the work force, the whiners, the complainers and the incompetent but collect equal dues from everybody.
Currently we are looking at a strike against GM. I predict it will finish them off, buy your Chevys now before they become extinct.

Might be hammer and sickle, might be the Fascist version - see German Labor Front - destroy the actual unions, and set up a Government alternative, with much bigger powers, claiming to represent the workers. But it will not represent the weak.... As is inevitable in a Democratic initiative it will favor the richest people on Earth under the guise of the best available language about protecting the weak. Almighty God grant us forgiveness for anger towards these terrible people, who hate the poor, kill their children, destroy democracy, and deck themselves out with lacy doilies and bright gold words. YOU fix them, Lord.

Union jobs mean campaign contributions to the DNC. If there was no money in it the Rats would be anti-union.

OK, important point: this idea is NOT communist. It is fascism. When you look at the fascism as an economic system (as opposed to the political system which inevitably accompanies it) this proposal is exactly how fascism envisions a national economy working.

This is the Democrats' Mafia Outreach Plan, since Unions always start out with "good intentions" buy end up being run by organized crime.

Really insane. Unions have been on the decline for decades and recent court decisions continue to go against them, giving them less power and control. Once not REQUIRED to belong and pay dues, many workers are deciding that it isn't worth it to join, dropping membership even further.
Now, in one fell swoop, we are supposed to hand over more power to unions than they ever had or dreamed of. They are to become Commissars of industry. This is another BIG PROMISE that will NEVER actually happen. It's the only thing the dems have going, promising the moon. Don't they realize that the unions and most of the public are no longer that gullible or stupid?

Sounds pretty much like the Nazi labor laws of the 1930s. The sad thing is that a lot of large company "capitalists" went for it then, as it kept the small competitors out of the marketplace.
