ATLANTA — Weeks shy of his 95th birthday, former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday he doesn't believe he could have managed the most powerful office in the world at 80 years old. Carter, who earlier this year became the longest-lived chief executive in American history, didn't tie his comments to any of his fellow Democrats running for president, but two leading 2020 candidates, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, would turn 80 during their terms if elected. Biden is 76. Sanders is 78. "I hope there's an age limit," Carter said with a laugh as he answered audience questions during his annual

The jokes write themselves, so I'll start. Jimma. you couldn't manage the presidency when you were 50, and that's a fact.

He wasn't even close to managing it in his mid 50's. Jimmah lives, yet Eddie Money is gone...sigh...

#1 and #2 beat me to the obvious response. Jimmy Carter- the guy who validated the elections that led to the destruction of Venezuela. Great job, Jimmy!

All kidding aside, Jimma was a micromanager. He had to know every detail and had to make every decision. He was governor of Georgia when the state was a one-party entity, so as Prez he did not understand compromise or the US Congress. He could not get along with the legislature in GA, because he always wanted his way and hated the Lt Gov Lester Maddox, the antithesis of a trained nuclear scientist.

Also, #4, Jimmy headed a commission formed after the 2000 presidential election, to fix the system. That was what led voting machines without paper backup to prevail. Pennsylvania had a system of optically scanned paper for the ballot, which allowed for a cross tab on total votes cast.
Help America Vote Act killed the system in Pa, and now we are spending a ton of money to fix the stupid computer system.
Jimmy also gave us the 55 mph speed limit nationally, with the dumbest thing of all - 45 mph speed limit for trucks! Remember the song, Convoy'? It was a way to beat that speed limit.
Jimmy left his mark on America - in many ways, he was a worse president than the Kenyan Klown.

The only thing Jimmah managed to do right was to get Ronaldus Magnus elected. It's the only part of his worthless administration for which we are grateful.

My favorite political cartoon from Jimmah's time involved an unqualified translator he hired for his trip to Poland. Jimmah said he loved Poland, and the translator said he was in lust with Poland. The cartoon was Carter at a podium and the audience rolling on the floor cracking up. He says "Whats so funny?" and the translator says "Whats so toilet plunger?"

I had to buy a home in Jimmy's time at 16% interest, worse than most credit cards were back then. Thank you Jimmah.

I think everyone agrees that Carter wasn't effective in his 50s. He was the worst U.S. President in my lifetime. President Trump is the best American President in my lifetime.

Carter seemed to be at his best when he was building homes for Habitat for Humanity, and in doing so, he made a positive contribution to society. Too bad for all of us that he didn't go into that line of work right after he completed high school. He was a really bad president, and should not attempt to make statements about a job he failed to be successful in.

Carter still holds the title of most inept President ever...Not the worst (though close), just the most inept.

Jimma! You couldn’t handle it ever! 21 % Prime, 17% to finance a house! 20% inflation? Nice job Poindexter! Oh, and humiliation at the hands of Iran! And you didn’t have the stones to resolve it with our military!

What an opening.
In defense of Carter, he was not the worst President ever. That title belongs to one interloper Saddam Hussein Obama bin Laden.
Carter, at almost 100 and with all the evil that he's done, also seems to have more working brain cells than evil Joe Biden and that old evil Bernie Sanders in their late 70s.
