Meghan McCain is remembering her late father John McCain on the day before the anniversary of his death. The former United States senator died last year at age 81. The co-host of "The View" took to Twitter on Saturday to pay tribute to her "hero" in a series of tweets. "Last year tomorrow, August 25th was the worst day of my life. I lost my hero. I miss my father every single day, I will for the rest of my life. Grief is omnipresent and relentless" she wrote. "For every single person who has sent prayers, love & support to

It sounds like she is the only person in the world to lose a father.

I'm sure even Benedict Arnold's family mourned his passing.

Somethings should be private and do not need to be shared. We have all lost someone close to us but don't feel the need to pin our grief to our sleeve everyday for others to see.

Now that Sen. McCain is safely dead, the Left has beatified him as a progressive saint for his never-Trumpism. It seems John was a 'good Republican.'
Meghan is just trying to cash in on that attitude and rehabilitate her father with Independents. She knows it won't work on the GOP.

If her grief is relentless at this point, she needs help.
Her father was the same age as mine. I still have my father, but when he dies, he will have truly had a life that was well-lived. If she feels that way about her father, she is not doing service to his memory by holding on to her "omnipresent" sadness.

Meghan, why is it our business to have to know you are still grieving for your father. We all go through the loss of a dad and mom at some point in our lives, but, we don't feel the need to get on our political soap box in order to pay tribute.

I suppose that every father is a hero to his daughter, but McCain is NOT a hero to most of the rest of us.

I believe I'm in year 20 of my social media break. With the exception of this site, I have nothing to do with any of the common platforms and can't imagine any reason I would ever want to change that.
Which means I'm in about year 10 of my social media break from the low-rent ravings of this fat spoiled brat. I never miss an opportunity to not miss Miss McCain.

Oh grow up Meghan! All of us lose parents at some point. It's part of life! Your's isn't any important than anyone else's! You need to be adult enough to get through it. Apparently Daddy's little girl can't get over the fact that she isn't that anymore and is instead a Married Woman who should be a WIFE now! I'm so tired of her whining! I have stooped to watching the View for a few minutes (due to the boredom with FOX lately) and Meghan should get a grip, go on a diet so she doesn't look like a 50 year old woman on TV and realize there is LIFE after Daddy!

It must be horrible to have no identity than "John McCain's daughter." The expression "Get a life" comes to mind.

We will have to wait and see how the little harridan, Meghan McCain, worms in some snarky words about President Trump. I know what my celebration for the back stabbing McCain will be and it's a joyous occasion.

My father was a USN officer, and a naval aviator starting in WW2, and during most of the time that McCain was in the Navy. And my father earned rank well above McCain, never crashed an aircraft, and had many significant USN commands, which I will not go into here. My father was ALWAYS a patriot, and always did what was right for this country, unlike McCain.
And I miss my father dearly, all the time. I'll put my father up against McCain any time, but I don't really expect the world to see him the way I see him.

Meghan has a one-line resume. It reads "Daughter of John McCain". Grief is something one does in private, not a self-pity party on Twitter.

Ms McCain's identity is associated with her dad only, not for any contributions she has made on her own. She depends on his name to have a career and to open doors for herself. I don't think 'her grief' is anything else but selfish. If she doesn't bring up his name from time to time, folks will abandon her. The woman has no talent otherwise.
As far as grief goes, we have all had our share. Someday, there will be those who grieve for us. It is a part of life.

#21, the world may not always see him the way they should, but everyone here has now had the opportunity to see him more clearly through you.
With sincere gratitude, to both of you.
