Biden's 'gaffe machine' revs up in Iowa

Months before launching his 2020 presidential campaign, Joe Biden acknowledged that he is a “gaffe machine,” prone to misstatements and embarrassing mistakes. He lived up to that reputation this past weekend on a campaign swing in Iowa, renewing fears among some Democrats that the 76-year-old former vice president and current frontrunner in the race for the Democratic nomination may not have the stamina for what would likely be a brutal campaign against President Trump. At a gun violence forum on Saturday, Biden recalled meeting with survivors of the high school shooting in Parkland, Fla., as vice president — a meeting

It is also possible that the dems know that they are toast and they are willing to send an expendable candidate. Some folks find it easier to avoid gaffs by telling the truth, its so much easier to remember and all of the other circumstances usually seem to fit. Biden is a fraud and the skill required to be good at fraud is beyond his capability.

More details have come out on the death of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who was found dead in his jail cell at Manhattan Correctional Center on Saturday. The Associated Press reports one of the two people who were on duty at the jail and in charge of watching Epstein was not a correctional officer. With shortages of trained correctional officers in some federal prisons, they have resorted to using clerical workers and teachers. Jail policy called for guards to check Epstein every 30 minutes after he reportedly attempted to commit suicide a few weeks prior. Investigators found the checks weren’t

One of the hottest trends in the restaurant world right now is delivery — and Minneapolis just gave people one more reason to stay home and place their food orders online: The city has placed a ban on the construction of new drive-thru windows. Be it restaurant or coffee shop, pharmacy or bank, the Minneapolis City Council approved the new rule this past Thursday, leaving current drive-thrus untouched (as well as businesses that are currently waiting for approval), but preventing the construction of any new ones within the city. "We're not closing any of the current drive-thrus," Council Vice President Andrea

NEW YORK – At least three people were violently mugged early this morning in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The first attack happened on Ross Street, the second on Wythe Place and a third on Clymer Street. The suspects allegedly struck three Hasidic Jews, between the ages of 56 and 71, within an hour. Friends told CBS2’s Christina Fan the men were walking to synagogue or work when the suspects ambushed them. Now, the NYPD’s Hate Crimes unit is on the case. “Obviously, might just be a run-of-the-mill mugging with the attempt as a bias crime, knowing that these people – just like myself, I

DES MOINES, Iowa — The chant — "2 cents, 2 cents, 2 cents" — started in the back of a crowd that packed sidewalks at the Iowa State Fair. Elizabeth Warren, basking in the spontaneous adulation of her proposed wealth tax, prompted roars with her call for the ultra-wealthy to "pitch in 2 cents so everybody gets a chance to make it." A night before, the Massachusetts senator enjoyed similar treatment when Democrats at a party dinner jumped to their feet — some beginning to dance — at the opening bars of Dolly Parton's "9 to 5," the song that would usher Warren on stage.

Police have warned social media users they could face arrest if they "troll" a wanted drug dealer by mocking his distinctive hairstyle. An online appeal to catch the criminal has resulted in tens of thousands of people posting joke comments. Jermaine Taylor, 21, is wanted for breaching his licence conditions after being released from prison in December 2018. Gwent Police launched the social media appeal to find the convicted drug dealer, but it backfired when people began making jokes about his hairstyle, with one saying it had been "pushed back more times than Brexit". In April 2016, my then 14-year-old daughter became convinced that she was my son. In my attempt to help her, her public school undermined me every step of the way. Throughout my daughter’s childhood, there were no signs that she wanted to be a boy. She loved stuffed animals, Pocahontas and wearing colorful bathing suits. I can’t recall a single interest that seemed unusually masculine, or any evidence that she was uncomfortable as a girl. The only difficulty she had was forming and maintaining friendships. We later learned why: She was on the autism spectrum. She was very functional and

Here are a few things I know firsthand about being in jail. First and foremost, you have virtually no control over your life and surroundings. You can’t get so much as an aspirin without authorization. In most jails, you can’t wear a belt, or shoelaces, or keep a razor in your cell. You have no privacy, no sense of dignity, and no rights. And in a well-run jail, high-profile prisoners have virtually no chance of killing themselves. So the alleged suicide of Jeffrey Epstein, the 66-year-old financier with powerful American and foreign friends who was about to stand trial for allegedly sexually abusing dozens of girls, many of them underage,
