Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said the U.S. could afford universal healthcare, canceling student debt and making tuition free at public colleges— by slapping higher taxes on wealthy individuals and big companies in order to pay for it all. Addressing a room in Miami on Thursday at the annual National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Convention, the 2020 Democratic presidential contender elaborated on his campaign proposal to cancel federal student loans for 45 million Americans, and make public higher education free. These proposals aren’t cheap: In total, both plans would cost American taxpayers somewhere in the range of $30- 40 trillion

Bernie, the rich are already paying for everything. The top 20% pay 80% of the taxes. Bernie, who do you think pays the capital spending that provide the buildings, plant and equipment? Who would you rather work for? A rich guy or a poor guy. Give me the rich guy every time.

Liberals/progressives/socialists live in their own insane fantasyland where none of the laws of economics, physics, or human nature apply. The problem is they want you to live there, too.

Says the poor man who had nothing when he went to Congress and is now a millionaire with 3 homes one being a summer home on the water. What about his crooked wife. Did she ever go to trial for what she did at the college she ran into the ground?

If Joe is creepy, Bernie is crazy. Certifiably. Does have any idea how numbers are added and subtracted? Not that it will come to pass. But here is another guy Donald will disembowel, publicly.

Of course a socialist doesn’t think about who actually pays the taxes on big companies. Not understanding business he doesn’t realize that customers ie. regular people, pay corporate taxes through higher prices.

The fallacy of Medicare for All is based on the notion that the government can negotiate the same reimbursement rates for the general population as they do for Medicare recipients. Here's the fallacy. Providers accept lower rates for hospital stays and medical procedures under Medicare for seniors because they know this population will use significantly more of these services than the younger healthier population. They make up the lower per treatment cost with higher number of treatments per individual. Its the same as getting frequent flyer miles or bulk discounts.
If they have to accept the same rates for the entire population they will lose money on the younger individuals who will not use the services nearly enough to make up the per treatment discount. In the end they will go broke and Medicare for All will become Medicare for None. Thanks, but no thanks Bern.

OK Bernie. I'll suck up all the free stuff. At age 70 I might even go back to college to get my fine arts degree in music. I'm a better piano player than you after all. When your NET WORTH gets down to my level you (no appropriate name gets past Ldot's CENSORS) we'll see how much the government can afford.

You can tax all wealthy people at 100% and it would not be close to covering the cost. This is unrealistic voter candy to get support from his socialist followers. He knows it will never happen. Bernies Traveling Snake Oil Show on the road coming to a city near you.

Once these clowns finished taxing the rich, there would be no rich... well, except for wealthy Liberals who exempted themselves because, after all, someone has to run things.

How is 'the rich' defined? Anyone making more that $30G a year? If you own any real estate? If your car is less than 3 years old? If you have more than $5G in the bank? If you have a garden? If you have a college degree? If you own a Bible?

Is there nothing of mine that Bernie will not give away? What good will it do to have everybody college-educated when all the corporations and jobs go overseas? Nobody is that stupid but Bernie is counting on just enough low IQ millenial voters to squeak him into the Oval Office.

There are not enough rich people to pay up and fund all those socialist programs, so as in the past, it would be the vast middle class who would be expected to pay up through really big and continuance tax increases, that is until the money runs out. After that it will be a crap shoot!

Let's start with you Bernie. After all the screaming about $15 an hour, you weren't willing to pay your own staffers. Such a putz.

If that American hating Bernie ever gets elected or any of the other bozos running for President, you can kiss this country goodbye. There isn't enough money to pay for all their communist schemes. Kill the rich and you'll kill the economy and the country. The USA will become a satellite of Russia or China. Guaranteed. Barry tried and almost succeeded. You want more of those crippling years?
