The press is awash with speculation about the motives of mass shooters in the wake of the recent massacres in public spaces by lone gunmen over the weekend. I believe many people are missing a relevant point when discussing what happened in El Paso and Dayton, the latter of which is my home, and why some people become mass shooters. I live approximately 3 miles from the Oregon district of downtown Dayton, the location of Connor Betts’ insane shooting rampage

There is an INCEL community? Even if you were an incel, why would you want to associate with other similar losers?

never heard of INCEL before, but after reading the article, you can see some possible linkage with the other mass shootings cited in the article.
have no interest in clicking on the link provided either.
And, just where is the "dark web" on the web?
How are people accessing this part of the web? Some sort of secret password, or access code?
And why is it liberals seem to know about all the supposed "dog whistles" and other such things?

The theory that lack of access to females for sex by lower social status males results in increased violent or aberrant behavior is supported by research in many parts of the world. In the polygamous Islamic world a small number of high status wealthy males have access to "harems" of women while the low status males are forced to celibacy. This has been proposed as a major driver for the Jihadist movement and the insane suicide bombing mentality. In Japan the birth rates are well below replacement levels because women will only date high status men that are college graduates and connected with the business world. This leads to the aberrant "idol" culture where low status middle age men with no possibility of marriage attend concerts of hyper sexualized and infanticized teen girls who virtually seduce them but never explicitly reference real sex. The biggest idols make huge fees from appearances and merchandise but several have been assaulted and some killed by over aggressive fans.
The author is correct that in an environment where reproduction is socially or economically restricted women can be more selective leading to a large number of males with no prospect of normal sexual relationships with women. Denied this basic need some men channel their impulses in destructive, risky, or even mindlessly violent pursuits.

He had a girlfriend and there is no link between these INCELS and him. This is the writer speculating with no evidence.

I suggested incel when Dayton broke. Do not underestimate the scope and meaning of incel. Being young and male, particularly white, makes you a culture-wide target. Quite a burden to live with.
That's a lot of conflicted hormones out there, hilarity does not ensue.

I've thought this for a long time, particularly among young Muslim men who commit terrorist acts and suicide bombings. I never knew the term INCEL or knew there was an online community until recently. I suspect Antifa has a large subset of INCEL young men living in their parents' basement.

islam is a perfect example. Look how easy it is for groups like isis to exist and grow.

I shudder to think of what the liberal left solution to this problem might be!
If they came up with free needles and tents, I'm sure they will think it smart to provide free hookers.

Could be.
FTA:
For the uninitiated, INCEL is a contraction, meaning ‘Involuntary Celibate.’ This is a polite way of saying that someone, through lack of social skills, financial status, or physical attributes, couldn’t get a date at a cathouse. INCELs are a real thing, folks. They have very populous message boards in their own little corner of the dark web, as well as on the mainstream Internet (these apparently began as support groups, but have since morphed into the cancer they currently are). They talk to each other, egg each other on and encourage each other.
And they support one another in their pathologies. Based on what's seen on these sites now, they don't tell each other to stand up straight, comb their hair, or put on clean underwear in order to win the heart of the girl. They instead just affirm each other in their resentments, intensifying them.

Well, I believed pretty much the same thing when I was in my twenties. Women didn't give me any reason to not believe it. I learned early on (16 to 17) what a girl said, and what they did were two different things. While mouthing they wanted a nice guy, they would routinely and at every turn choose a guy who was mean to them and treated them like dirt. It wasn't until I turned thirty that I ran into someone who was interested in me for me, and we just celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. However, I can absolutely understand the complete and utter rejection one feels at age 16 to 25 when no one finds you attractive no matter what you do. That feeling never goes away no matter what age you reach.

Re #5, didn’t his “girlfriend” dump him because he was creepy?
Lyndsi Doll dated him for less than a year while they were in high school. She told “Today” that when she first met Betts, she remembers “a lot of women coming to me and warning me about his violent tendencies.”
Doll said he was never violent or threatening to her, but fellow students and friends told her about the “rape list” and “hit list” he allegedly made and his threats against women that got him suspended from school.
“I've been very lucky that I never experienced any violence from him,” Doll said, but she said she heard stories of Betts allegedly pushing another woman into a river and threatening, berating and harassing other women. NBC News has not confirmed these reports.

The writer starts off talking about speculation and simply adds something with which he has become familiar. Betts was fair game for this kind of speculation. A man who will murder his own sister?

Connor Betts had several girlfriends who have spoken out about his mental condition. I don't think he falls into this category.

If this theory had any credibility, the thousands of sailors who spend months aboard ships would be causing mayhem all over the world. No excuses for this monster, he is what he is.

Ah. I remember the good old days (60s, 70s). We were ALL INCELS. Women wanted men who were groomed, working perhaps with a career, polite, independent and civilized. So that's what we worked at. This parent house, basement dwellers, living on allowances can bite me.
