A businesswoman and immigrant from Jamaica hoping to unseat freshman Rep. An ever-growing number of rodents in California -- particularly in Los Angeles -- is being fueled by a spiking homeless population and restrictions on rodenticides that are risking a public health crisis, according to a study released Tuesday. The report by political action committee Reform California cites recent rodent-related events over the past six months, including an employee at the Los Angeles Police Department contracting Typhus and a rat falling from the ceiling of a Buffalo Wild Wings onto the menu of a patron, as proof of an "undeniable problem" in the Golden State."California is being overrun by rodents," said Carl DeMaio, chairman of Reform California.

Washington - The Trump administration is reinforcing its controversial military relationship with Saudi Arabia by preparing to send hundreds of troops to the country amid increasing tensions with Iran.
Five-hundred troops are expected to go to the Prince Sultan Air Base, located in a desert area east of the Saudi capital of Riyadh, according to US two defense officials. A small number of troops and support personnel are already on site with initial preparations being made for a Patriot missile defense battery as well as runway and airfield improvements, the officials said.

Planned Parenthood clinics nationwide have stopped using federal Title X family planning funds, according to the organization. Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif complained on Wednesday about the tight U.S. travel restrictions imposed on members of the Iranian UN mission and their families, which, he charged, put them “under basically inhuman conditions.” The restrictions, which also apply to Zarif himself during his visit this week to UN headquarters in New York, basically limit the Iranian diplomats and their families to traveling between the United Nations, the Iranian UN mission, the Iranian UN ambassador’s residence, and JFK Airport. “It is certainly not a friendly action,” Zarif added. He’s right. Nothing that the Iranian regime has done deserves any “friendly” action by the United States.

As I have argued in the past, left-wing gender theory can be entirely dismantled and debunked with one simple question: What is a man? All of the talking points, all of the sermonizing, all of the stuff about "transgenderism" and "gender fluidity" and "gender spectrums" — all of it is blown to pieces by a question that my six-year-old could answer. No leftist who espouses gender theory can provide a coherent answer to this question. Few will even attempt it. It is a classic double-edged sword. If "man" has no objective definition, then it is meaningless for a woman to identify as one. A statement like "transmen are men"

The one aspect of the chocolate-and-vanilla divide that has seldom been disputed is the question of provenance. But over the last year two new studies

Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson, spoke to thousands of Christian Conservatives and patriotic Americans in Denver, Colorado last weekend at the annual Western Conservative Summit. Dr. Carson provided a clear, common sense prescription he is using for the transformation of the government agency. He sees the mission to actually have the government work for the genuine good of the people rather than just appear to work for the welfare of the public. He explained that there were three serious components of his prescription:

President Trump posted a new patriotic video Wednesday with a blunt message at the end tied to his battle with anti-American Democrat freshmen known as “the squad.” The video comes a day after Democrats rallied around the “squad” in a House vote attacking Trump over his criticism of them.Following a minute-plus compilation video of President Trump in pro-America, flag-waving settings with Americans of all backgrounds–with an emphasis on the military and border patrol–the video concludes with a direct message: America One “Squad” Under God.

When I saw President Trump’s odd tweets over the weekend — the ones that told four American lawmakers to “go home” — my first thought was about Napoleon Bonaparte, who famously said, “Never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself.” (Video) That’s just what the Democrats had been doing for weeks. In their first presidential debate last month, all but a few of the 20 candidates running for the White House pledged to give illegal aliens free health care and said crossing the border illegally should be just like getting a parking ticket.

Scientific research has shown that a great and fascinating -- perhaps even mysterious -- bond exists between dogs and human beings. They even understand human language.
The love story between dogs and humans goes back tens of thousands of years, the results of which can still be seen everywhere, every single day. Families going out with their dogs, which are carefully groomed, looking extremely healthy and happy. The pet is a real member of the family. His needs are as important to his owners as their own. Because of this close relationship, dogs have developed the ability to perfectly understand us.

If Democrats become the victims of a massive electoral defeat next year, it's doubtful that they will understand why. Not one of them seems to have any awareness of how ridiculous they can be.
Case in point, former Vice President Joe Biden, in earnest, just said he would challenge President Trump to a push-up contest as a way to measure his own manliness.
The outburst came with great assist from MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski after she asked Biden in an interview how he would “fight” Trump, given that he “lies,” “bullies,” and “doesn’t play fair.”

In the new nation that Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota seeks to create, the "capitalist system" will be left behind in pursuit of a "fair and just economy" where the federal government guarantees everybody jobs, housing, health care and free abortions. How can we know this? She has declared it in writing. Omar's campaign website includes a section called "Ilhan's Vision." The agenda it presents contradicts foundational American principles — particularly the rights to life and property — that were spelt out in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The declaration says that "all men are created equal" and "endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."

Let’s call this a nice win for the common-sense American.
Following a bizarre ban of the Pledge of Allegiance by the far-left/socialist St. Louis Park City Council, hundreds packed the council chambers and demanded the Pledge be reinstated. Council members attempted to table the issue, likely hoping people would forget and move on.
THEY DIDN’T, and soon after, the council voted to reinstate the Pledge.
On a related side note, this took place in Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s district – the same Ilhan Omar who has long been attacking President Trump for his many America-first positions.

Americans’ steadfast adherence to the rule of law separates the United States from almost every other country, even other free societies. There is nothing more contrary to the rule of law, however, than the current lack of control over our southern border, across which thousands now pass illegally every day.
Alexis de Tocqueville, the young French diplomat who toured America extensively in 1831 then wrote De la démocratie en Amerique, the most celebrated portrait of the young nation’s society, marveled at the operation of the rule of law here.
He wrote that “in America one man never obeys another man, only justice or the law.”

As we settle into high summer and the period of maximum difficulty in finding anything to fill in hours of television news, especially 24/7 news television, two well-established political trends are emerging in this pre-electoral period: The president’s opponents continue to dig themselves into foxholes that they will not be able to escape, and the president’s tactical victories continue to be compromised by his verbal sloppiness. In completely nonpartisan terms, both phenomena are disappointing. The process of the president’s leaving verbal lapses for his enemies to exploit, and of the Democrats and national media doing so excessively, is more complicated than it seems. Donald Trump, unlike Barack Obama &Company, loves talking about America’s “exceptional” qualities, but we tend to overlook the importance of the exceptional qualities of Trump himself. No, this will not be a suck-up exercise about the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. An open letter to Barack Obama:
Mr. President, it is time. You must speak. Your country needs you.
Eleven summers ago, as you accepted the Democratic nomination for president, you announced: “Tonight, I say to the people of America, to Democrats and Republicans and independents across this great land: Enough. This moment — this election — is our chance to keep, in the 21st century, the American promise alive.”
Of course, we knew then that our nation had deep political differences, and would continue to. Only the most naive among us would have expected the election of the first African American president to come about with no backlash.

London- Ikea is shutting down its only furniture factory in the United States.
The Swedish company will end production this December at its plant in Danville, Virginia. Operations will move to Europe, where the company says it can cut costs.
"We made every effort to improve and maintain the competitiveness of this plant, but unfortunately the right cost conditions are not in place to continue production in Danville," site manager Bert Eades said in a statement. The Danville facility, which opened in 2008, employs 300 workers. Wooden products including shelves and storage units are made at the plant.

Some in the news media have tried in recent days to rekindle their long-lost love affair with former MI6 agent Christopher Steele and his now infamous dossier.
The main trigger was a lengthy interview in June with the Department of Justice (DOJ) inspector general, which some news outlets suggested meant U.S. officials have found Steele, the former Hillary Clinton-backed political muckraker, to be believable.
“Investigators ultimately found Steele’s testimony credible and even surprising,” Politico crowed.

Almost a year after President Donald Trump urged voters to reject Mark Sanford, the former South Carolina congressman is considering a Republican presidential run of his own against Trump in 2020.
Sanford, in an interview Tuesday with The Post and Courier, confirmed he will take the next month to formulate a potential run against Trump as a way of pushing a national debate about America’s mounting debt, deficit and government spending.
He would run as a Republican.

I think it’s obvious to more and more people what’s going on here, but I will take the opportunity here to explain it in abbreviated form yet again.
I’ve had so many people say to me, “You know, Rush, this nothing new. People have been saying ‘love it or leave it’ for I don’t know how long, my whole life.” Remember there used to be all those bumper stickers: “America: love it or leave it.”

The Director of Community Engagements for Massachusetts Citizens for Life claims that Facebook has labeled a quote by St. Augustine as hate speech. In a blog post, Domenico Bettinelli wrote, "Facebook has repeatedly banned a quote from St. Augustine every time I’ve posted it. And it’s not some fire and brimstone 'Sinners are going to hell!' quote, but in fact, quite the opposite."
Pulled from one of St. Augustine's homilies included in the Roman Catholic Church's official liturgical books, the offending quote is this:
