Almost a year after President Donald Trump urged voters to reject Mark Sanford, the former South Carolina congressman is considering a Republican presidential run of his own against Trump in 2020. Sanford, in an interview Tuesday with The Post and Courier, confirmed he will take the next month to formulate a potential run against Trump as a way of pushing a national debate about America’s mounting debt, deficit and government spending. He would run as a Republican.

#2, I have to respectfully disagree. After he disappeared (while in office as (was it Governor?) !) on his extended tryst with his new mistress, his mother is probably ashamed of him. The only sure vote is his own, and the possible vote is his mistress...... IF she still likes him.

Bernie Sanders targets 'institutional

Declaring the criminal justice system ruined by pervasive racism and “corporate profiteering,” Sen. Bernard Sanders proposed a massive overhaul Sunday that would free many drug convicts, abolish the death penalty and solitary confinement, and promote an unarmed “civilian corps” to replace the police for lower-level calls. The Sanders campaign said the goal is to keep people out of prisons in the first place, with a goal of cutting the incarcerated population in half. For those who still land behind bars, he called for better conditions with a focus on helping them stay connected to society and to reintegrate faster when they are released. Mr. Sanders announced the plan

Joe Biden, 76, has been getting heaps of attention for his verbal gaffes. Alas, voters should worry about a far bigger problem: It’s impossible to know what he stands for. Yes, some of his slip-ups can be head-scratching. Democrats choose “truth over facts,” he said. Huh? The kids from the Parkland high-school shooting — which happened after he left office — “came to see me when I was vice president.” He lamented “the tragic events in Houston” and “Michigan” rather than El Paso and Dayton. He warned against giving President Trump “eight more years” and told backers to “go to Joe 30330,” instead of texting him. And that’s just recently.

Often the vulnerability of a politician is reflected by the desperate caliber of their spin. When a campaign can’t even put together a convincing case with cherry-picked evidence, it’s easy to conclude that their argument doesn’t pass the smell test. Elizabeth Warren, trying to deflect widespread worries that she’d be the Democratic Party’s riskiest best to take on President Trump, is the latest example of a candidate without a plan to address her biggest problem. In a New York Times story on the subject, Warren’s campaign offered two arguments as to why she’d be a formidable challenger against Trump. Her team has pointed to her hotly contested victory

Mr. Epstein was there for so long that he often appeared bored, sitting in silence with his lawyers, according to people who saw the meetings. While they were there, he and his entourage regularly emptied the two vending machines of drinks and snacks.

(Actually, make that 399: John Hickenlooper's graceful exit on Tuesday via YouTube has narrowed the field slightly.) What I am asking is whether he actually wants to win. I am wondering because Beto recently announced that he will not be campaigning in Iowa or New Hampshire, the states in which the earliest of these things called "primary contests" are held.
