We have a president who dons fatigues and steel-toed boots whenever he enters a room full of politicians and media types, promptly takes an axe to the refreshment table, and then invites all in the assemblage to put up their dukes.
All oblige — like now, when the big national story, which doesn’t bear repeating after the last couple of days, is the president’s venture into racial commentary via tweets about the Democrats’ four furthest-left congresswomen, who, along with their party and the media, are duly outraged. They ought to be. He’s campaigning

The commentary is seriously counter factual.
FTA:
"the president’s venture into racial commentary via tweets about the Democrats’ four furthest-left congresswomen....
READ his words. There is NOTHING WHATSOEVER "racial commentary" about anything he said.
This is a LIE. And the Republicans are buying it.
READ WHAT HE SAID, darn it. There is zero racial content. ZERO.

Sorry Murchison, I vigorously disagree. There can be no tasteful engagement or peaceful dialogue with the Left. They fight a nasty 'win at all costs' war however much we might yearn for the days that after hours our politicians laid down their verbal arms and had drinks at the bar together. Instead of storming the Normandy beaches do you think that we should have doubled down on diplomacy while ethnic cleansing gassed millions of Jews from across Europe? Trump was elected PRECISELY because he understood the anger of millions of deplorables whose religious beliefs and culture were being trashed along with the government for which many have died. And more importantly, he was elected BECAUSE he was finally a politician willing to fight the war on the 'enemies' turf using THEIR own strategies. He was elected because he WASN'T a nice guy. Is he someone I want to marry my sister - No. But then I wasn't looking for a President as my brother-in-law.

While there was nothing racist in Trump's tweet, I do not believe that he did not know exactly what he was doing. So, for the purpose of Murchison's point the way he referred to it was perfectly valid. However, while it would be nice to have more substantive discussions as the author desires, the Democrats have perfected the art of using anything said on such things to sound wrong if it disagrees with them. Trump was elected because he knows how to get them to over-react and reveal their true thoughts.

The best defense is an offense. PDT understands the media and the public. He knows how to play the game. Here's what is actually happening:
In past weeks PDT has been accused of everything from "inhumane" behavior to rape. The BIG LIE of Russian collusion is exposed and wallowing in the swamp. The "threat" of impeachment is in the air. What PDT did is to attack the weakest Dem congressional link, the four fools who comprise "The Squad". Pelosi has a problem now, and she blew it with this floor speech calling PDT racist and de facto supporting the fools she has failed to neutralize and the media loves. More importantly, it drove the other rubbish from the water cooler conversation - which PDT anticipated.
Look, this is war, not a re-election campaign. PDT understands to fight he must survive, and knows the worst is yet to come after Labor Day. He needs to politically survive the early campaign, when the Uniparty will do its worst to smear him and all around him. Let's see, besides condemned for "racism", today it's only a 1992 conversation about girls with Epstein, trying to keep the simmer running. Drip...drip...drip...
This is what PDT is fighting. Meanwhile, Mitt is in the wings...

Over the last several years, I learned not to question the President until he has time to show us his hidden points. They are always good ones.
