Lara Trump took the stage in a convention room at the Valley Forge Casino Resort and gave the crowd a puzzled look. “I’m a little confused,” President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law said. “I didn’t think women liked Donald Trump!” A crowd of about 1,000, mostly women, waving flags and wearing “Make America Great Again” hats, cheered and laughed back. The rally launched the president’s national “Women for Trump” campaign, aimed at bettering Trump’s support among women. The group hopes to encourage women to fund-raise, train volunteers, register voters, and speak proudly about their support, which several in the crowd said can be difficult.

Not too surprising, really. KofP is just outside Philly so most intelligent people knew about the meeting and the Inquirer is just in CYA mode. By ignoring it they would have shown their bias too openly.

Like Reply #3 above, we vote. Add to that we spend and we breed. My superpower is I can be invisible if I choose to use the cloaking device. I am a female, white, retired, homeowner with about a hundred or so folks I can count on to go invisible with me. You could be looking at one of us right now and not know it.

Number 8 Ida, FYI, King of Prussia was named after a colonial Tavern. The Casino they met in is directly across the street from Valley Forge National Historical Park. KOP is also home to a mega Mall.

HONG KONG - Hong Kong police fired rubber bullets and tear gas at demonstrators who threw plastic bottles on Wednesday as protests against an extradition bill that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial descended into violent chaos. Tens of thousands of protesters had gathered peacefully outside the Chinese-ruled city’s legislature before tempers flared, some charging police with umbrellas. (Snip) Opposition to the bill on Sunday triggered Hong Kong’s biggest political demonstration since its handover from British to Chinese rule in 1997 under a “once country, two systems” deal guaranteeing it special autonomy, including freedom of assembly, free press and independent judiciary.

As dollar stores sweep across America, they are facing growing scrutiny from opponents who argue that discount chains stifle local competition and limit poor communities' access to healthy food. Dollar stores have never been more popular. Yet a wave of cities and towns have passed laws curbing the expansion of Dollar General and Dollar Tree, which bought Family Dollar in 2015. The companies are the two largest dollar store operators in the country, combining for more than 30,000 stores throughout the United States, up from under 20,000 a decade ago. By comparison, Walmart, America's largest retailer, has 4,700 US stores.

Author Stephen King took to Twitter Friday to express his disdain for President Trump, telling his five million Twitter followers that he hopes to fire the “vile, racist, and incompetent bag of guts and waters” in 2020. “I think we all agree that Donald Trump is a vile, racist, and incompetent bag of guts and waters. How happy I would be to tell him ‘YOU’RE FIRED’ next November,” King tweeted. (Tweet) The Pet Sematary author has a history of lashing out against Trump and Republicans. Last May, he called the entire White House staff “bad tempered, arrogant, insensitive, and largely incompetent.” “What does that say about the boss?” he asked.

RUSH: There’s also this story in the New York Daily News. Michelle Obama… By the way, don’t be surprised if she gets in the Democrat presidential primary race after the primaries. Don’t be surprised. I think the Obamas are looking at this as, “The primaries? That’s beneath us. We’re not gonna enter the primaries.” They’ll let these people fight it out, spend all their money, and then when it looks like none of them has a chance of beating Trump, here comes Michelle (My Belle) Obama at the latter moments of the campaign to jump into the fray and save the day for the Democrat Party.

House Oversight Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said on ABC's "This Week" that there's "no doubt" that President Trump is a racist, and that for the first time in his 37 years in public service, he has constituents telling him that they're "scared of their leader." CUMMINGS: "George, no matter where I go, what I'm hearing over and over again from my constituents is, "Please save our democracy. Please save our country." And you know something else they say, George? They say "I'm scared." I have never, in my total of 37 years in public service, ever heard a constituent say they were scared of their leader."

New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, one of the two dozen Democrats competing for the party's presidential nomination, said President Trump is weaponizing racial animus to sow division in the country for his own political gain. "He is somebody that is using race like a weapon to divide our country against itself," Booker said on "Face the Nation" Sunday. "He's been using it since before he became president as a way to accelerate his gaining of political power." The New Jersey Democrat was referring to the president's recent attacks against four progressive lawmakers of color. Last week, Mr. Trump posted a series of racist tweets suggesting that Reps. Ilhan Omar of

World leaders are expressing support for four far-left Congresswomen in the wake of a series of comments in which President Donald Trump challenged the lawmakers to leave the United States if they continue to criticize the country. On Friday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel claimed President Trump’s remarks about the “Squad” — made up of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) — “undermine America’s strength.” She also said she stands “solidarity” with the lawmakers.

Democrats in Virginia have declared they will snub the President of the United States if he attends a commemorative event scheduled for later this month. The White House has not made any official announcements about President Trump’s plans to attend the 400th anniversary of American democracy, to be held in Jamestown on July 30. But Virginia Democrats have not missed the opportunity to grandstand, defiantly announcing they will essentially put partisan politics ahead of America’s heritage.

It wasn’t so long ago when Beto O’Rourke, the punk-rock band member and three-term congressman from West Texas, was the man to beat. O’Rourke was the energetic, dashing politician who looked like a Kennedy and talked like a Kennedy. He may have lost his Senate campaign to the incumbent Ted Cruz, but he made history by scooping up over $80 million in fundraising in the process. His three-percentage point loss was the closest a Democrat in Texas came to winning a state-wide race in over 25 years. Beto is learning, however, that running a national campaign for president is a different animal – and that viral moments and smooth oratory

House Democrats are hoping Robert S. Mueller III illuminates potential obstruction of justice by President Trump and gives credence to their claim of an unlawful president for millions of Americans who will decide on Trump’s political future. Mueller’s much-anticipated testimony Wednesday is a pivotal moment for congressional investigators, holding promise — and peril — for Democrats as they finally get their chance to question a reluctant witness about his nearly two-year investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election and whether the president tried to derail the inquiry. Democrats expect Mueller to describe in detail at least five of 10 episodes of

A “Drag Queen Story Hour” event at a Dallas, Texas, library last Saturday featured two drag queens, one of whom read the story What Color Is Your Underwear? to small children. More than 50 parents brought their children to the story hour held at the Grauwyler Park Branch Library and hosted by drag queens “Cassie Nova” (aka James Gary Love) and “Jenna Skyy” (aka Joel S. Hoselton). “My little cousin dressed me,” Cassie, with pink and orange hair, told the children, reported Dallas Voice. “So, I’m wearing A LOT!” Cassie reportedly also read My Cat Jack to the children, encouraging them to yawn, stretch, and scratch like cats.
