WASHINGTON–The wait for former special counsel Robert Mueller's long-anticipated public testimony got a little longer Friday. Mueller's planned July 17 appearances before the House Judiciary and Intelligence Committees has been postponed for one week to allow more time for both committees to question the former special counsel, officials said. "We are pleased to announce that special counsel Mueller will provide additional public testimony when he appears before our committees," the committee chairmen said in a joint statement. "At his request, we have agreed to postpone the hearing for one week, until July 24." Since Democratic committee leaders announced that they

Reads like the article was written by Nadler. "When Mueller declined to say whether those acts were illegal, Barr intervened and concluded that Trump's conduct was not criminal." Barr didn't intervene: the report was addressed to him. When Mueller punted, Barr acted.

Too much "Dump Trump" already in the pipeline. They have to manage the flow. Don't think you've heard the end of PDT's Epstein "connection", Ryan's baloney, and the "lessons learned" from Mueller's investigations...so the main event gets "pushed back" with headlines. As Pelosi said, no drama...yeah...all summer long.

He probably rethought this thing after he heard some of the questions that will/should be asked of him. Hannity, etc. keeps repeating them and probably scared the bejeebers out of the wimp Mueller .

You people should remember that Herr Mueller's answers are not important - only the questions will be used to defame DJT. Example - Do you know how many times Trump had sex with underage Russian girls? Herr Mueller - No, I do not know. Next day headlines in the NY Times - Mueller couldn't establish find out how many times Trump had sex with little girls in Russia. Next day headlines in the Boston Globe - Pedophile President had sex with uncounted numbers of little Russian girls. Morning Joe segment - We are filming this segment of our show at a pre-school in Queens, where Trump grew up. The little girls on camera have refused to answer our questions about sex with Trump. They seem to be afraid to talk. Don Lemon on CNN - while Mueller found no evidence that Trump had sex with little boys, one has to wonder...

AUSTIN —Just nine months ago, attorney Katie Baron was so inspired by Beto O’Rourke’s Senate campaign in Texas that she commissioned a sprawling mural on the side of a building in east Austin featuring the candidate in a Superman-like pose. After O’Rourke lost race and began mulling a presidential campaign, the artist added a sweeping “2020” in blue paint — providing what seemed to be yet one more call for O’Rourke to get into the crowded race. Now, four months into O’Rourke’s campaign, Baron wishes he had stayed out. After the first Democratic presidential debate last month, Baron posted an

Starting Sunday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is expected to resume its previously announced plan to apprehend thousands of illegal immigrants across the country. The reinvigorated effort comes just weeks after President Trump tweeted that ICE was preparing to kick off days of raids in at least 10 major cities. The operation was halted, however, the day before it was set to start, to give Congress time to arrive at a legislative solution on immigration. Trump said his administration would relaunch the raids after a two-week window – after the Independence Day observance – and that time now seems to have arrived.

In two essays, “Illness as Metaphor” in 1978 and “AIDS and Its Metaphors” in 1988, the critic Susan Sontag observed that you can learn a lot about a society from the metaphors it uses to describe disease. She also suggested that disease itself can serve as a metaphor—a reflection of the society through which it travels. In other words, the way certain illnesses spread reveals something not just about a nation’s physiological health but also about its cultural and political health. For instance, AIDS would not have ravaged America as fully as it did without institutionalized homophobia, which inclined many Americans to see the disease as retribution for gay sex.
