Kamala Harris, calling on the nation to “deal with the racial wealth gap,” on Saturday proposed a $100 billion federal program to help black people buy homes. The California senator said the plan, which would provide down payment and closing cost assistance of up to $25,000 to people renting or living in historically red-lined communities, would help some 4 million home-buyers. The plan’s release comes as Harris surges in Democratic presidential primary polls following a debate last week in which she chastised former Vice President Joe Biden for his past opposition to busing and former associations with segregationist senators. What an ill-conceived boondoggle!! Most people who have always been renters have no idea what home ownership entails. It goes beyond being responsible for keeping the lawn mowed to planning ahead for appliance repairs, knowing when to repaint the outside to maintain the home, learning how to do simple plumbing repairs or saving the money to pay plumbers, electricians, handymen, and a plethora of other things that suddenly need a month's worth of paychecks one doesn't have.

This latest Harris proposed income redistribution social welfare government program would result in another Sub-Prime mortgage disaster when the on welfare or low income Black folks cannot thereafter service their loans. Sounds like another Obama like designed attempt to move millions of Black folks out of the inner city ghettos into middle class suburban neighborhoods, a process that is bound to destroy those areas economically, and give the Democrat socialists a much better chance of becoming politically dominant in those impacted suburban areas.

This slut (aka Willie Brown's squeeze) thinks that by pandering to the African-American community she will get them to vote for her. She may be correct but she is going to see a backlash that will make her head spin. Even dumb white and Hispanic Democrats will see through her. She was a predator with Willie's willie but it won't work with the white and Hispanic community.

Somebody needs to tell her how this same idea that was implemented by the Clinton Reno administration nearly broke the biggest banks who dealt with mortgages. The scandal that the Clinton housing boom was still hasn't been fully exposed to the sunshine yet. We do not need another arm twisting president, bent on destroying more banks.

As stated above this idea was the basis for the Community Redevelopment Act (CRA) that made low interest loans available to people in black neighborhoods that couldn't meet the traditional loan qualifications for Fannie and Freddie prime loans. The rationale was that blacks were being discriminated against by prime lenders but later analysis clearly showed that the default rates on the prime loans were comparable between whites and blacks with similar credit scores. If blacks were being discriminated against then only super credit worthy blacks would have qualified and their default rate would have been much less than white borrowers. When the government regulated and insured agencies (Freddie and Fannie) started mixing the prime loans with the sub-prime and the default rates skyrocketed big banks that had repurchased the loans from them had to reprice their assets and it triggered the whole financial crisis. If Kamala Harris does not remember or understand this then she is clearly not qualified to be President.

Harris is an idiot. Let me explain why (though you probably have a few dozen reasons already on the tip of your mind...) By extending this ludicrous, racist, discriminatory policy, who will she attract? Is the Black vote she would already get 95% going to go UP enough to offset the WHITE, HISPANIC and ASIAN vote that she will LOSE? If her Black vote goes from 95% to 98%, that is really an extra 3% from roughly 15% of the population, or about 1/2 of 1%. Now, tell me with a straight face that this will NOT cost her less than .5% of the rest of the 85% of the population that would have to PAY for this? Harris is an idiot.

#27, I did a quick search, and while Hoover is always blamed for saying that chicken/pot thing, he never said it. Some over enthusiastic RNC employee published a flyer saying it. As for Kamala Sutra, her pandering for the black vote is almost humorous. (Hoover, a self made man, was not too big on government giveaways, and saw the role of the federal government to be limited.)

#22 is spot on. This has been tried before, and if you remember the driver behind it was BARNEY FRANK of all people. The banks were partially at fault, but the root cause was the law (CRA) that mandated them to loan money to high risk, low income borrowers (0% down, never mind your credit score). The mortgage companies were granting loans with their eyes closed because they were off-loading the risk to Wall Street, who bundled them up and sold them as mortgage backed securities. That almost lead to another great depression due to liberal social engineering, just like it always does! But hey, whatever it takes to get votes I suppose.

The incident took place on July 4, Independence Day, just before the six Tempe officers began a long shift. The barista told the officers they either needed to move out of the complaining customer's field of vision or leave completely because this patron did not "feel comfortable," according to ABC15 Arizona. The officers, who had just purchased their coffees, opted to leave. The following morning, the officer's union Tempe Officers Association tweeted a

Joe Biden says he could re-nominate Merrick Garland for the Supreme Court if he is elected and a vacancy opens on the high court, saying Garland “is a first-rate person.” Speaking with Iowa Starting Line, Biden said “I think we should have been a whole heck of a lot harder on [Mitch McConnell],” Biden said when he was asked about Garland’s nomination by Barack Obama getting blocked by the GOP Senate majority leader. “I’d say, what are you doing, you’re setting a horrible precedent here. And the answer was, I know Joe, but if I go, I’m in a red

BOISE, Idaho — Chickens are friends for some people, dinner for others. Sometimes both. But one animal rights group feels that the name of a rural road in the Treasure Valley region isn’t kind to poultry. PETA sent out a news release this week alerting Idaho media that it has written a letter to Caldwell Mayor Garret Nancolas to ask for a change to the street name Chicken Dinner Road. However, Caldwell city street maps don’t include Chicken Dinner Road, which is located in rural Canyon County. “Just like dogs, cats, and human beings, chickens feel pain and fear and value

DES MOINES, Iowa — Joe Biden is still the front-runner in the Democratic presidential race, but the crown is slipping. On a two-day holiday visit to Iowa, the state that kicks off the White House nominating fight in seven months, Biden was greeted by new polls showing his lead narrowing in the state and nationally after a wobbly performance in last week's first debate. Biden's halting response to a bruising debate attack on racial issues from rival Kamala Harris, a black U.S. senator from California, has some Democrats in Iowa rethinking their support for the former vice president. "The debate changed

Toilet paper – the one product that the majority of us use just once and flush away – is becoming less sustainable, according to research. Analysis from Ethical Consumer magazine found that major brands were using less recycled paper than in 2011, while only five of the nine major supermarkets (the Co-op, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose) offered an own-brand recycled toilet paper. The large-scale use of virgin paper contributes to unnecessary deforestation. The UK uses 1.3m tonnes of tissue a year, according to the Confederation of Paper Industries, with the average British consumer reportedly getting through 127 rolls every

Britain's Ambassador to Washington has described Donald Trump as 'inept', 'insecure' and 'incompetent' in a series of explosive memos to Downing Street. Sir Kim Darroch, one of Britain's top diplomats, used secret cables and briefing notes to impugn Trump's character, warning London that the White House was 'uniquely dysfunctional' and that the President's career could end in 'disgrace'. His bombshell comments risk angering the notoriously thin-skinned President and undermining the UK's 'special relationship' with America.

USA star Megan Rapinoe hit out on Saturday at the scheduling of the women's World Cup final on the same day as two major men's international finals and said FIFA president Gianni Infantino's pledge to double the prize fund for the tournament is not enough. "It's terrible scheduling for everyone. That's a terrible idea to put everything on the same day, in every way," Rapinoe said at a press conference on Saturday as the USA aim to retain the World Cup in the final against the Netherlands in Lyon on Sunday. Michelle Obama in an interview Saturday evening said the night before President Trump’s inauguration in January 2017 was “very emotional.” "The truth is, on that day I was moving my children out of the only house they had really grown up in,” the former first lady told Gayle King of CBS News at the Essence Festival in New Orleans. “I think that gets lost on people.” She said she was rushing to get her daughters and their friends out of the White House after they’d had a sleepover the night before the inauguration. “The girls didn't get up,” she explained.

Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested for allegedly sex trafficking minors in Florida and New York from 2002 to 2005. The 66-year-old registered sex offender faces federal sex trafficking charges and is due to appear in court in New York on Monday. He was taken into custody by the FBI on Saturday after landing in New York following an overseas flight. Key witnesses sought for questioning by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz early in his investigation into alleged government surveillance abuse have come forward at the 11th hour, Fox News has learned. Sources familiar with the matter said at least one witness outside the Justice Department and FBI started cooperating -- a breakthrough that came after Attorney General William Barr ordered U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead a separate investigation into the origins of the bureau’s 2016 Russia case that laid the foundation for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe. While the investigative phase of the inspector general’s long-running probe is said to be complete,

Nike has withdrawn a new Independence Day-themed shoe featuring the Revolutionary War-era flag after former NFL quarterback and Nike-endorser Colin Kaepernick complained that the flag was a symbol of the slave era, according to the Wall Street Journal. Nike offered a lame excuse that it had removed the shoe from retailers because “it featured an old version of the American flag.” In fact, it featured the American flag that was actually in use in 1776 on the original Fourth of July, and it is named for the pioneering Founding Mother to whom its design is commonly attributed, Betsy Ross. As it happens, a version of that very flag

And you know, I’m just not going to go there. If we keep doing that — I mean, we should be debating what we do from here," Biden told CNN in a Friday interview, referring to the crowded field of two dozen White House hopefuls. In May, Biden, 76, promised not to attack his rivals, saying: “I will not speak ill of any of the Democratic candidates, I will not do it."
