Last night President Trump hosted the Ultimate Fighting Championship on the White House lawn for a series of seven mixed martial arts bouts. The event was spectacular and went off without a hitch, after a delay for a possible rain shower. I watched the first six fights, then went to bed, probably missing the best match. Here are some thoughts: * I am a boxing fan, but not an MMA fan. To me, MMA is more a gladiatorial spectacle than a legitimate sport. Many disagree, however. MMA includes wrestling and kicking, which we called “chicken fighting” when I was a kid.

If you've spent any time arguing with liberals online, you already know this. Now there's a study to prove it. Decades of research have shown that political conservatives report better mental health and greater happiness than their counterparts on the left. A new study published in the journal Political Behavior takes that finding a step further, finding that “mental illness is emerging as its own political identity and is most heavily aligned with leftist political ideology and causes,” and that it clusters heavily among younger, far-left Americans.

Imagine being so mentally polluted (no pun intended) by your disdain for people who disagree with your climate fanaticism that you turn them into carbon footprint monsters in their obituaries? That’s exactly what leftist media outlets did writ large upon the passing of legendary former ExxonMobil CEO Lee Raymond. Outlets like Bloomberg News, The New York Times, the Houston Chronicle and the Australia-based Sydney Morning Herald all took aim at Raymond following news of his death at age 87. They all turned Raymond into Mother Earth’s archnemesis by making him the face of Big Oil and the so-called climate change denier movement.

We reported earlier how President Donald Trump lit up the Iranian state media for leaks that they were claiming about the deal that is about to be finalized. As we noted, the regime's foreign ministry spokesperson confirmed the deal was close to being finalized. Now, in what has to be a first, the Iranian foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, scolded the Iranian media for what they had reported about the deal, indicating they were getting things wrong. Then, Trump quoted Araghchi, probably another first. Araghchi said: The Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding has never been closer. Pending its finalization, the media should refrain from entering speculation about its content.

As the old saying goes, "Be careful what you wish for." Spencer Pratt released a concession video of sorts Friday morning, and after Karen Bass and Nithya Raman watch it, they'll wish the mail ballot fraud scheme to elevate Raman had never taken place. Pratt says he's moving on from the "campaign phase of [his] mission to save Los Angeles to the next, more interesting phase," reminding people that his goal wasn't to become mayor, but to expose the corrupt machine - and that he's laser focused on doing just that.//snip//So Karen, Nithya, ask yourselves, is it possible that one of your employees may have a recording

On Friday morning, Elon Musk became the first trillionaire in recorded human history. SpaceX began trading on the Nasdaq, opened 11 percent above its suggested IPO price, and Forbes estimated its net worth had crossed $1.1 trillion before noon Eastern. No person had ever done this before. Not even close. SpaceX priced its IPO at $135 per share on Thursday night, locking in a valuation of roughly $1.77 trillion before a single share changed hands. That made it the largest IPO in history, surpassing Saudi Aramco's $29 billion raise in 2019 by more than $45 billion. The company set its price before

Will James Talarico sell in Texas? Given his history of promoting racialism in public schools and participation in Defund the Police efforts, it's not even clear whether the Democrats' nominee for the US Senate could win Austin. Democrats have tried to package the state legislator as a centrist who can connect with Texans in the suburbs, exurbs, and rural precincts of the Lone Star State. They hope especially to push his time in a Presbyterian seminary as a way to connect to Christian voters, particularly with the controversial Ken Paxton as his Republican opponent. As the Free Beacon reported yesterday, however, Talarico has spent his political career advancing

The suspect, 45-year-old Victor Mata Villarreal, already was being sought by authorities when he began firing at officers and bystanders in Midland on Friday before barricading himself in an abandoned veterinary clinic, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Democrats have been losing Latino voters in droves to President Trump and many Republicans, to the consternation of many leftist leaders, all of whom view Latino voters as 'their' voters, as loyal as black voters to Democrats; "their" property. They always have. So, one of them decided to hire a leftwing consultant to try to sort it out for them: Turns out ethnic pandering -- the politics of building ethnic blocs and representational box checking, and diversity based on skin tone -- doesn't impress them much. According to the New York Times: Way to Win, a Democratic-aligned group that focuses on the Sun Belt, including Latino voters

Sunday on “This Week,” former President Barack Obama said the United States could not bully or bomb its way to a solution when asked about the Trump administration’s actions in Iran. Reporter Robin Roberts asked, “You spent a lot of time wrestling with the threat of a nuclear Iran. How do you think things are being handled right now there?” Obama said, “It is doubtful that any agreement that arises is going to be significantly different or a significant improvement from the deal that we had in the first place. And had worked for, for a long stretch of time, before we, the United States, pulled out of it.

President Barack Hussein Obama wanted a monument in Chicago, and Chicago gave him parkland, patience, tax breaks, years of disruption, and now a tower that looks less like civic memory than self-regard poured into granite. The Obama Presidential Center opens to the public June 19 in Jackson Park, a historic South Side park once shaped by Frederick Law Olmsted's vision. The Obama Foundation calls it an “awe-inspiring 19-acre campus.” Many Chicagoans can look at the same structure and see something colder. The building matches the man's politics. Obama, the 44th president, sold hope in polished speeches while leaving the country more divided than he found it. My criticism of Obama has

Concern is mounting that taxpayers could be left holding the bag if the Obama Presidential Center runs into financial trouble, as the foundation behind it has yet to establish a promised $470 million safety net to guard against a public bailout. Obama, whose roots are African rather than African-American, rose to power by hijacking the racial resentments and guilty left behind in America after a history of slave and segregation he was never part of. Now, the one trick pony is at it again, announcing the opening of the grim fortress of a museum in Chicago, on ‘Juneteenth’, trying to link his time in the White House as a notable event for black people up there with the end of slavery. It’s another cynical and despicable hijacking of American history to serve his own vanity and ego. The reality, as most black people will admit, is that

Former Interior Secretary Deb Haaland last week won New Mexico’s gubernatorial primary, with a 2-to-1 lead over her opponent. She’ll be up against Republican nominee Gregg Hull in November’s general election. A lot could happen between now and then. But considering the state's political history, there's a good chance Haaland could get elected governor. On the American energy scene, New Mexico is the second-largest producer behind Texas, pumping out 2 million barrels of oil per day. Two counties in south-east New Mexico account for 78% of all onshore federal oil production, according to the American Petroleum Institute. The Land of Enchantment is a key player in the American energy landscape.
