Karmelo Anthony's family told CBS News that they believe the trial was unfair from the start. Now Anthony's attorneys have filed an intent to appeal. A day after the trial, Karmelo Anthony's parents, Andrew Anthony and Kala Hayes, sat down to break their silence and let the world know how they're feeling as their son begins his 35-year sentence for murder in a state prison. "My son is no murderer," Karmelo Anthony's mother says after 35-year sentence

Lesley Stahl has seen a lot of horrible things over the course of her career at 60 Minutes, but none of it can compare to the horror she experienced watching her fellow journalists lose their jobs for being obnoxious.
"Oh God, this was awful," Stahl told Puck when asked about the half dozen veteran producers and personalities who were fired along with Scott Pelley, the veteran newsreader and combat survivor dismissed for insubordination. "This was by far the worst experience I’ve been involved in, or even witnessed."
The worst experience she’s ever even witnessed. By far. The Puck reporter observed that Stahl's voice "trailed off

Vice President J.D. Vance will be a guest on ABC’s “The View” Tuesday to discuss his new book about faith and field questions about current events.
Fox News reported that he will be the third sitting vice president to appear on the program. All six “View” co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro, are expected to be on hand.
“The View’s” hosts are known for being notoriously anti-Donald Trump and his administration. Even the two Republicans on the program — Navarro and Griffin — are harsh critics of the president.

The “sweetest” elderly Mississippi couple were allegedly killed by a teenage burglar who then shot at cops during a six-hour standoff while barricaded in the house, according to authorities.
Billy Blair, 74, and his wife, Virginia Carol Blair, 71, were killed after 17-year-old Cordarius Hobbs broke into their home last Wednesday, WLBT reported. Hobbs has since been charged with capital murder.
Cops swooped on the Mendenhall home just after noon for a welfare check after worried relatives couldn’t make contact — but they encountered gunfire upon their arrival.
The burglary was already taking place when police arrived and the front door was open.

If you ask, many Americans will tell you that one of the things they hate most about "the swamp," Washington, D.C., is the fact that once a congressman or senator gets elected, pulling them out of said swamp is next to impossible, and the result is geriatric lawmakers being wheeled around in wheelchairs. It's certainly not what the Founding Fathers intended. Now, one House member may have the answer to this dilemma. Republican Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) has introduced a bill that would end both pay and power for House and Senate members who have reached 12 years of service in their respective legislative bodies.

The study is called, “The Growth, Scope, and Spatial Distribution of People With Felony Records in the United States, 1948–2010.”
Springer Nature:
The steep rise in U.S. criminal punishment in recent decades has spurred scholarship on the collateral consequences of imprisonment for individuals, families, and communities. Several excellent studies have estimated the number of people who have been incarcerated and the collateral consequences they face, but far less is known about the size and scope of the total U.S. population with felony convictions beyond prison walls, including those who serve their sentences on probation or in jail. This article develops state-level estimates based on demographic life tables and extends

A new state law goes into effect on Aug. 1 in Minnesota, which will no longer allow 10-, 11- and 12-year-old children to be criminally prosecuted. The law, passed two years ago by state legislators, now requires children under 13 who are considered delinquent, or who have broken a state law, be redirected to social services. The Minnesota Association of County Social Service Administrators (MACSSA) represents social service staff across the state's 87 counties and is asking the state to step in and make changes to the law. Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Shropshire are among the local authorities urging locals not to attach flags to lampposts or signs without permission.
But Reform UK leader Nigel Farage said today that anyone flying an England flag outside their home was “now intimidating migrants, according to our political class”.
Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp told the Daily Mail: “This is outrageous. Patriotic British citizens should be allowed to display national flags, whether the St George’s Cross, Saltire or Union Jack – at times like these.
“Woke councils should stop being ashamed of our national identity and culture, and start celebrating it instead. I’m proud of our national identity.

At least 39 times in the last 65 days, the President of the United States has declared the United States and Iran were close to a deal only to have the Iranians openly mock him and deny it. (Snip) The President, the other days, said Iran was playing us. The only one being played is President Trump. A state of war exists between Iran and its neighbors. The ceasefire is a farce. The President has turned into a clown.

Yesterday, I came across a video in which a black man films himself riding down the street on a bicycle, reportedly in Florida, before he pulls over where a white man is sitting on the ground talking to a white woman while they appear to be waiting for a bus. Out of nowhere and without provocation, the black man punches the seated white man in the head, accusing him of being part of the “jury selection” for the Karmelo Anthony trial; he also says to the white veteran, “you gonna die.”

We talk about an Iran war, but as I speak on June 9, we haven’t had a real kinetic back-and-forth bombing campaign or anything since around April 8. So, we had 38 days of bombing, and then we’ve had 60 days of negotiations.
So, there isn’t really an Iran war right now.
We have a War Powers Act. The Left is all upset and trying to stop the war, but there is no war right now. It’s a waiting game. And what is the waiting game? The waiting game is that Iran feels that by giving a concession on Monday and taking it back on Tuesday and letting Hezbollah attack—

Mere hours after the GiveSendGo fund supporting Karmelo Anthony was “unpublished,” activists supporting the teen murderer launched a petition calling for the arrest of Austin Metcalf’s brother, Hunter.
The petition, which as of this writing still has fewer than 50 signatures, charges Hunter Metcalf with contributing to his brother’s death by “allegedly assaulting” Anthony.
“As a member of the Black community in America, the ongoing injustices we face daily have reached a tipping point,” the petition reads. “Our community is fed up with the perpetual cycle of violence and discrimination that remains unchecked by a justice system that too often turns a blind eye to our plight.
