CBS News announced on Friday that it is changing its policy on editing interviews with top government officials after the network cut out a portion of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem’s interview on “Face the Nation.” Following her Aug. 31 interview, CBS News removed about 26 seconds of Noem’s remarks about alleged MS-13 member Kilmar Abrego Garcia, where she outlined his lengthy criminal past to justify her agency’s efforts to remove him from the U.S.

This matters. We are trying to turn around the Titanic. Every change like this matters. Hopefully they will keep their word.

Even if it is CBS, I remain incredulous that, so soon after the blowup over editing Kamala's word salad interview, these leftist news hounds supposed they could edit another big interview and it would not be noticed? And right after CBS has been sold to a new owner? Do they think they're bulletproof? So brainless. Some producer's head should roll.

WASHINGTON — Tennessee Valley Authority CEO Jeff Lyash — the highest-paid federal employee with a compensation package of $10.5 million per year — abruptly announced Friday that he was retiring 11 days after the return to office of President Trump, who during his first term slammed Lyash’s “ridiculous” pay and vowed to fire him. “Sounds like Lyash got DOGE’d,” a senior administration official told The Post, referring to Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative to rein in allegedly wasteful federal spending. A TVA rep denied that Lyash was departing either in response to or to get ahead of pressure from Trump’s team after six years in the job.

It was one of Donald Trump’s most controversial nominations. Pete Hegseth being selected to run the Pentagon as our next secretary of defense caused liberal America to melt down, leading to a prolonged media assault on his character based on zero evidence. Have federal district judges peaked? Democrat judges, especially Biden judges, have been issuing insane rulings trying to stop President Trump from doing pretty much anything. These rulings are so bad that even Justice Kagan, hardly a Trump pal, was baffled by them. I’ve argued that these rulings are literal lawfare, there’s no pretense that these various blocks are even legal, they’re there to force Trump to go to the Supreme Court. And then the Supreme Court, especially its weakest man, Chief Justice Roberts to mull over what the cocktail party set will say and cringe over being accused of being a rubber stamp for Trump.

What happens? Crime plummets to levels not seen in years. The Joe Biden autopen fiasco isn’t over, and it never went away. It just went dormant for a bit, but we knew something was going to drop, and it has. President Joe Biden signed a trove of clemency petitions before he shuffled out of the White House. There are concerns that he wasn’t cogent or even aware of what he was signing. That issue presented itself with executive orders, as told by Speaker Mike Johnson. The mountain of clemency petitions was navigated by a shoddy chain of command among top Biden staffers, and again, it presented issues about whether Joe Biden was aware of what was going on

Was floating a ban on trans people owning guns just some basement-level idiot’s idea for “owning the libs”? In the wake of Robin Westman’s deadly Minneapolis rampage, some troll in the bowels of the Trump Justice Department reportedly proposed blocking trans people from buying firearms by declaring them all “mentally ill.” This, of course, is absurd as a simple matter of law: No rule that strips a (dubiously-defined) group of their Second Amendment rights has any chance of holding up in court. And if it did somehow survive, that’s an open invitation for future progs to create their own “mentally ill by definition” categories — deployable to limit lots of other rights.
