Just one day after the Supreme Court of Virginia (SCOVA) heard oral arguments about the legality of the legislative process used by Democrat lawmakers to get last week's redistricting/gerrymandering referendum in front of voters, the court on Tuesday shut down efforts by Attorney General Jay Jones to certify the results of that referendum.
At the heart of Tuesday's order was the RNC v. Koski case, which RedState's Jennifer Oliver O'Connell reported on last week.
On Wednesday afternoon, Tazewell Circuit Court Judge Jack Hurley Jr. ruled that Tuesday's referendum is unconstitutional and issued an injunction preventing the certification of the election maps.

Say something reckless, watch the temperature rise, act surprised when something breaks—and then, because apparently nothing was learned, do it again.
If that sounds harsh, just look at what happened this week.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said something that shouldn’t even be controversial: rhetoric matters. When people in positions of power constantly frame their opponents as existential threats or enemies, they aren’t calming anything down. They’re pouring fuel on it. That’s just reality.
But instead of taking the hint—maybe dialing things back even a notch—House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went the other direction entirely. He leaned in.
In their attempt to get President Donald Trump killed, Democrats are hitting zero. You might think that’s a glib way to put it, but how else can you explain the repeated attempts to inspire someone to kill the president and the deflated “we have to condemn all political violence” that inevitably follows? It’s performance art – they have to pretend to be shocked that someone acted on what they’d been openly hinting they’d like to have happen, because otherwise the next person might not be inspired by their rhetoric to pick up the mantle and try to finish the job.

It happened again: a deranged leftist, Cole Allen, fueled by hate, came too close to assassinating President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner on Saturday night.
Allen, who lives in Torrance, California, is a 31-year-old teacher and video game developer. He charged at the security checkpoint, right outside the ballroom. Before being tackled, Allen fired shots, hitting one Secret Service agent, who will make a full recovery because he was wearing a bulletproof vest.
Ironically, the dinner was held at the Washington Hilton, where President Ronald Reagan was seriously wounded by John Hinckley, Jr. on March 30, 1981.

The gunman who opened fire at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Saturday night has been identified as Cole Allen of Torrance, Calif.
The 31-year-old, who federal law enforcement source confirmed is a teacher, was in custody after gunfire broke out near the event’s main security screening area just after 8:30 p.m.
Allen appeared to assemble a “long” weapon in a lightly monitored area near the terrace-level entrance before opening fire and rushing toward the ballroom.
A described a “makeshift room” near the entrance where bar carts were being stored and where “there was no security” at the time.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said Tuesday that a recent review found thousands of Americans who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits in just one state are actually driving luxury vehicles.
Rollins did not identify the state, except to say it was led by a Republican, but said a scrutiny of the federal food stamp program uncovered that thousands of people who are getting the benefits in that one state are also rolling to stores in Bentleys and Teslas.
The study, conducted by the Foundation for Government Accountability, connected 14,000 luxury vehicles to food stamp enrollees, with Lexus being the most common brand.
