The latest controversy hovering over liberal comedian Jimmy Kimmel is leaving a sour taste among those in ABC's orbit. Kimmel is under fire yet again, this time for a poorly-timed joke he made targeting President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump just two days before Saturday's shocking assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents' Association (WHCA) Dinner, where the Trumps and nearly the entire Cabinet were located. On his own program, the late-night host depicted his own version of the WHCA Dinner where he emceed the annual gala, and leveled several jabs at both the president and first lady.

Even if Kimmel gets fired (one can hope) it won't abridge his free speech rights. He can still say anything he wants, but it won't be on the national stage. Rhetorical question: "How can you boycott something that you never watch?"

I quit watching anything Disney years ago when they buried 'Song of the South' for 'woke' reasons. That little movie was wonderful. It depicted blacks as subservient but it was set in that era and wouldn't have worked otherwise. History can be inconvenient for leftist indoctrination and must be either rewritten or expunged. We rubes in flyover country have to be properly taught the right way to think by our self-appointed betters. Here's where they manage to be be so stupid and clueless. Uncle Remus was the hero and the little black kid was the white child's best friend. The true villains in the film were the disreputable white people who tried to bully them. The real hero is Uncle Remus who saves the little white boy's life and even his white mother is shown in a bad light. This is one of Disney's greatest films but trying to ban it failed. It's available at several places if you look. I bought my copy at a gun and memorabilia show and made sure my kids saw it growing up. A real little masterpiece. 'Amos 'n Andy got the same treatment. The show had the finest ensemble of black actors of any TV show ever produced. It had it's comic moments (hilarious) but people forget that the cab driver, Amos, was pictured as a wise, smart and wonderful family man. White guilt and it's accompanying stupidity continue to ruin our culture.

Kimmel's "widow" remark to Melania Trump is probably the most soulless thing I've ever heard said. Disney ought to come down on him like an anvil. Only the worst people on earth could ever say anything like that. Both Jimmy and his toxic wife need to spend time on their knees in repentance, or else they're both going to hell where they will burn forever. The Almighty hates this stuff, and so do we. Jimmy ought to be a pariah with no friends.

Kimmel is not funny (hasn't been since girls on trampolines) and thrives on the clapping seals of an ignorant audience. I haven't watched any of his content that displays his "talent" other than what is presented in articles such as this. Having said that I will defend his right to say what he wants (first amendment y'all). Its up to his management to decide if he adds enough to the corporate image and bottom line to keep him around. Don't watch Kimmel and don't add to Disney's success. Ignore the annoying jerk off. Works for me.

FTA: "It is unclear whether Disney will maintain its support for Kimmel this time around. The Kirk controversy took place under CEO Bob Iger, who reportedly made the call to temporarily bench the host. Iger has since stepped down and handed the reins to Josh D'Amaro in March, marking his first major crisis as the company's leader." The fact that Disney senior leadership never dropped Kimmel at all through all of this is telling. Walt is spinning in his cryogenic chamber.

I agree very much with #24. I am not of the mindset that the success of Disney should be undermined. The only ones that get hurt in the end are the employees. Or lack of when they start laying off. I think Melania and Donald Trump have the right idea - terminate employment of Jimmy Kimmel. I also want to point out one thing. When protesting a service or product, if someone does not want to participate, do not belittle them. I am probably talking about myself because Disneyland has some very special memories of my deceased Dad. I could start crying when talking about the ride "It's A Small World" because it triggers how I remember his laugh.

For the moment, the city is on-track to meeting its long-term pension-funding obligations by its 2032 deadline. Yet to help close his budget hole, Mamdani would push $1 billion worth of payments into the 2040s. That would be both costly and risky.
