MEMPHIS, Tenn. - President Donald Trump made a surprise stop at Graceland Monday during his visit to Memphis, taking a private tour of Elvis Presley’s legendary home. During a roundtable earlier in the day, the president hinted at the detour, telling the audience, “I’m going to Graceland after this. I love Elvis.” Minutes after the event wrapped up, the president arrived at the Whitehaven landmark — the second most visited home in America, behind the White House.[snip] Trump told the White House press pool that although he never met Elvis, it’s something he has always regretted. For most of the last 40 years, pollsters have asked voters: Which party do you trust more on healthcare? The answer has been pretty much the same over this whole period. Voters trust Democrats more, sometimes by a two-to-one margin. When I've asked my Republican politicos why that is, the answer I typically receive is: Our party doesn't do healthcare.[snip]Well, the GOP certainly better start "doing healthcare," because the issue of medical care access and affordability is front and center for American families. The Republican promise to voters should be better healthcare at half the cost. Here are five easy pieces to this saner and higher-quality healthcare system.

Are congressional Republicans absolutely determined to forfeit this November’s midterm elections? It sure looks that way. The GOP would hardly be acting any differently if it were secretly run by its enemies. The election-security provisions of the SAVE Act enjoy overwhelming popular support. According to CBS/YouGov polling, requiring photo ID to vote is literally an 80-20 issue, commanding the support of four out of five voters. Yet the Republican Senate, with a 53-47 majority, is struggling to pass the law. Yes, the filibuster gives Chuck Schumer a powerful weapon to use against the GOP, but there are ways around that – ways the GOP chooses not to take.

Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said that a legal theory supported by the Republican National Committee in a case related to mail-in ballots “imperils a lot of different things.”[snip] “I mean, I think this is your original point that there were lots of different practices and so to the extent we're saying, ‘oh, you could only look at Election Day in the federal statute to mean exactly what the states were doing back at that time.’ This imperils a lot of different things, not just post-Election Day ballot deadlines.”

A federal judge on Friday ruled that the Pentagon’s new press policy restricting press credential of reporters is unconstitutional. In October, Pentagon reporters turned in their badges after they refused to sign Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s new security rule. “Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth demanded that reporters agree by 5 p.m. Tuesday to a new policy, under which they would need to pledge to not obtain or use any unauthorized material, even if the information is unclassified — or hand over their press badges in the next 24 hours,”[snip]By that afternoon, Pentagon reporters turned in their badges.

The joint American-Israeli military operation against the Iranian regime is now three weeks old, but there is another war — a more silent one — raging here on the home front. President Donald Trump's second administration is facing a highly coordinated shadow war — one waged both by some influential outside voices on the Right and, more dangerously, by their subversive allies within Trump's very own government. If this campaign is not confronted and decisively defeated, the result will be calamitous: a second Trump term that drifts into lame-duck status not due to a voter backlash but because of an insurrection from within.

There is something extraordinary about how a young woman, born and raised in the United States, can become a voice for people she has never met in a country she has never seen, thousands of miles away. But for Iran’s Princess Noor Pahlavi, daughter of the exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and granddaughter of the former shah, Mohammad Reza, that is the situation she finds herself in. As the Islamic Republic regime of Iran faces daily strikes and military pressure from the US and Israel, and with its leadership decimated, many are looking to the day the regime falls.

U.S. installations were at Force Protection Condition Charlie, a threat posture used when commanders have intelligence that an attack or danger is possible, as unknown drones flew over Fort Lesley J. McNair in Washington, where Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth live, and officials still did not know who sent them.[insert] Multiple drones were spotted over the base on a single night within the past 10 days, setting off increased security measures and a White House meeting as officials scrambled for an answer, and still did not know where the drones came from.

For years, Americans turned off by Hollywood haughtiness, partisan taunting, and general wokeness have tuned out of celebrity awards shows. The 98th Academy Awards proved to be no exception. Sunday night’s Oscars only racked up 17.86 million viewers on ABC and Hulu combined.[snip] the first All-American Halftime Show, featuring artists such as Kid Rock and Lee Brice, garnered 25 million views across YouTube and Rumble. TPUSA spokesman Andrew Kolvet noted shortly after the rival Super Bowl show wrapped that there were “a lot of large groups watching together, so the number of viewers is likely far higher.”
