They also held a "readiness to contribute" to NATO for many years to insure their own safety but many forgot to send the check until something scared them.

They are all ready to try to help themselves to the oil that goes through the strait---now that they are hurting for it. Not one is willing to help get the real job done. and that job is to send troops to Iran and cleanse it of the crazy mother truckers who insist on firing missiles around to anything they can hit, and friends we can cry, we can moan we can lie to ourselves, but it is that which is the only way to beat this thing. The revolutionary guard and everyone in it must be destroyed. The cult must die.

Golly. Sounds like a coalition (for what it's worth) after the fact. Where are the folks who were complaining that we needed to get all our allies lined up (through the UN) before attacking Iran?

It's really amazing what being in range of ballistic missiles can do for some. Then again, these "stalwart" countries need to actually follow up with some action. We've heard their words for decades, but have seen little in return for all that hot air.

I think the sudden PROOF that Iran can hit their countries with intermediate range ballistic missiles is a real, no lie WAKE UP CALL. "You mean that they could drop a nuke on Stockholm? Holy kippered snacks!!" and "they were HOW close to having a nuke to put on those missiles?"

Every country in NATO should have sent planes to help bomb Iran! But they were afraid of the Muslims in their own countries. Even now they are too stupid to realize what would have happened if those ICBMs fired by Iran had even a dirty bomb strapped on to them.

Oh, they’re “ready to help” now that all the heavy lifting has been done…. Help, with WHAT? How many ships do they have? How many serviceable aircraft, or competent pilots? Trump should just tell them “you really wanna help? Stay out if the way and keep your mouths shut.”

Viral video of a woman being nabbed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers at San Francisco International Airport sparked mass online fear-mongering about Trump’s deployment of immigration agents to help ease the TSA security crisis. Video captured the moment ICE agents began handcuffing a crying woman on Sunday at around 10 p.m. inside the airport’s Terminal 3. The officers were met with backlash from multiple passengers who filmed the scene and yelled at them, as the woman continued to cry with a young girl standing beside her, also sobbing. “This is un-American,” one passenger is heard yelling. “What is your badge number? What is your name?”

Controversy is again raging over the fate of the Salt River wild horses, protected under state law as a natural treasure, after the Arizona Department of Agriculture awarded a new management contract requiring the removal of more than half the herd — despite a state law that authorizes removals only for humane reasons related to the health and safety of individual horses. It didn't have to be this way. In 2016, Arizona Republicans did something Washington rarely manages to do. They solved a problem. When the U.S. Forest Service moved to round up and remove every one of the Salt River wild horses from the Tonto National Forest,

To be honest, they’re making compelling arguments not only for eliminating the legislative filibuster, which even I have been hesitant to do, but also for dissolving the legislature and canceling all elections until these radical progressive forces are put down like the rabid dogs they are (politically). I don’t care. Those on the Hill are comfy, connected, and uninterested in the pain they’ve inflicted on TSA agents, scores of whom have quit.

Riverside County Sheriff and California gubernatorial candidate Chad Bianco has seized more than 650,000 ballots from last November’s election as part of an investigation into potential discrepancies in the county’s vote count. The probe follows allegations from the Riverside Election Integrity Team that the county’s tally may have been inflated by more than 45,000 votes. “This investigation is simple: Physically count the ballots and compare that result with the total votes recorded,” Bianco said at a Friday press conference. He said the review will determine whether the results are accurate.

As we enter the fourth week of the Iran war (or “excursion”), here are two great ideas about how to deal with some of the consequences — both from outside the Beltway. In fact, right in New York. One idea, unusually, is from longtime President Trump critic and former swamp creature Richard Haass, now back in his hometown. The other is from Wall Street guru Larry Kudlow, Trump’s great friend and former economic advisor. Both ideas are elegantly unconventional. In his Substack last week, Haass took a moment from trashing the president to suggest an alternative to boots on the ground for the prickly problem of opening the Strait of Hormuz,

Iran responded Sunday with threats of its own, a day after President Donald Trump warned the United States will “obliterate” Iran’s power plants if Tehran fails to fully open the Strait of Hormuz in 48 hours and Iranian missiles struck two cities near Israel’s main nuclear research center, injuring dozens and shattering apartment buildings. The developments signaled the war in the Middle East, now in its fourth week, was moving in a dangerous new direction. Sirens blared across Israel as Iran launched new barrages Sunday. In the country’s south, residents faced the devastation in the cities of Dimona and Arad. In northern Israel,

Prior to the era of post-1965 mass immigration, America was not a “diverse” country by modern standards. White and black Americans averaged 87 percent and 12 percent of the population, respectively, from the founding of Jamestown until the 1970s—more than 300 years of uninterrupted demographic stability. There was some internal diversity in the white American population, though this diversity was largely dealt with by rapid integration that often took less than a generation—two generations at most. By the 1970s, when the foreign-born population was under 5 percent, America was a very cohesive nation. The “natural diversity” of the United States was found not in its inherent demography but —

President Nayib Bukele has transformed El Salvador from one of the most dangerous places in the world—a tropical hellhole with a murder rate fit for a Middle Eastern warzone—to one of the safest countries in the Americas. He did it by applying one basic principle: lock up the most violent people in society, then throw away the key. Bukele was aided by the fact that most crime in his country was committed by members of ultra-violent gangs like MS-13 and Barrio 18, who conveniently advertise their allegiance and their crimes with lurid tattoos all over their bodies.

Alongside the claim that you should love mosquitos and wasps, the Guardian’s Environment Correspondents opinion section carries three attempts to turn the Iran crisis into an opportunity for the UK’s green agenda. Environmentalism is, I have long claimed, an opportunistic infection: its adherents are unable to make a case for a perfect world on its own terms, and so their argument for a radical and urgent reorganisation of society, requiring the suspension of normal politics, must capitalise on a sense of crisis to advance their agenda. And so it is that the Grauniad’s eco-hacks rush to Ed Miliband’s rescue with some tall tales.

The Supreme Court ‘s conservative majority on Monday sounded skeptical of state laws that allow the counting of late-arriving mail ballots, a persistent target of President Donald Trump. The court heard arguments in a case from Mississippi that also could affect voters in 13 other states and the District of Columbia, which have grace periods for ballots cast by mail. An additional 15 states that have more forgiving deadlines for ballots from military and overseas voters also could be impacted. A ruling is expected by late June, early enough to govern the counting of ballots in the 2026 midterm congressional elections.

Whatever they can do to make voting drag on longer, feel less secure, and leave more room for “funny business.” Of course the one thing they don’t want to do is the most obvious: voter ID. Their schemes are always sold as some kind of better “access” or more “convenience,” but what they’re really doing is turning a civic act into a chaotic, messy process that Americans don’t trust.

There is a cognitive bias called the Dunning–Kruger effect, which -- in my opinion -- would be better called the Obama-Mamdani effect today. Dunning-Kruger describes a delusional mindset where “People with low knowledge or skill in an area tend to overestimate how competent they are.” In biblical terms, this kind of hubris is defined by Paul in Romans 12:3 as one “...think[ing] more highly of oneself than one ought.” That Scripture verse captures the essence of two popular, similar politicians who, despite having little knowledge or skill, have convinced many Americans of an expertise that simply doesn’t exist

It was surprising, however, when he was denounced by various podcasters, most of whom have been stunningly naïve about Iran’s threat and why Trump had to take action. By far the most clueless of them has been Megyn Kelly.
