President Trump on Thursday threatened to invoke the Insurrection Act against Minnesota if the state declines to stop rioters from attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
Under the Insurrection Act, the president can deploy the military and federalize the National Guard in response to civil disorder or an armed rebellion against the US government.
“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me,” Trump warned on Truth Social.
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) urged U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials to “round up all” of the criminal illegal aliens.
During an interview on Fox News Channel’s The Will Cain Show, Fetterman spoke about the recent shooting in Minneapolis, where Renee Good was fatally shot by an ICE agent. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has claimed that Good “weaponized her vehicle” against ICE agents who were trying to get their vehicle unstuck.
“Round up all the criminals,” Fetterman said. “Deport them. They shouldn’t have ever been here, and they definitely have to go.”
While Fetterman expressed that the incident is “a tragedy,” he pointed out that it is “very clear”
Multiple reports out of Minneapolis indicate that leftist rioters in the city are revealing the names and locations of federal law enforcement agents on livestreams using documents recovered from looted vehicles.
The reports came after the Department of Homeland Security says one of agents shot a Venezuelan immigrant in the leg after he fled a targeted traffic stop and proceeded to attack the officer, NBC News noted.
The move also comes after a week of unrest following the death of Renee Good, a woman who was shot after she ran her SUV into an ICE agent during a confrontation with officials during immigration enforcement operations in the city.

Good, 37, died on January 7 after ICE agent Jonathan Ross reportedly shot her in south Minneapolis.
JPMorgan Chase Bank is suing former Chicago Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot for letting her $11K credit card bill go unpaid for 17 months.
The media has learned that Lightfoot, who became the first Democrat Chicago Mayor not reelected to city hall in about 40 years, was served with a subpoena at her $900,000 Chicago home in October, the Chicago Tribune reports.
