As the Iranian uprising continues to escalate, it’s been reported that hundreds of protesters have been killed by the regime’s security forces.
The internet, phone signals and lighting have been cut, and it’s feared the killings are intensifying behind the blackout.
Yet the Iranian people have increasingly poured onto the streets to confront the regime’s murder and torture squads. There’s never been such a mass display of raw courage in the teeth of such vicious repression.
If the regime does fall, this will be a seismic event, reshaping the region and world politics. The insurrection might be the most consequential global event so far this century.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed on Monday the uprising against his brutal regime is “now under total control” after hundreds, or even thousands, of civilians were killed by security forces.
Estimates of the death toll vary widely. The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) said 496 protesters have been killed, plus 48 members of Iran’s security forces, and about 10,600 people have been arrested over the past two weeks. Iran Human Rights (IHR), a group based in Norway, cited “unverified reports” that “suggest the possibility that over 2,000 people may have died” since the regime began shutting down Internet and mobile phone access on Thursday to cover its activities.

The average national price for a gallon of gas dropped to $2.796, the lowest we’ve seen since 2021, per AAA.For obvious reasons, the White House is eager to spread this good news.
“In 43 states, the average gas price is below $3/gal. In 30 states, it’s below $2.75/gal,” wrote the White House’s official Rapid Response X account. “In 17 states, it’s at or below $2.50/gal.”The cost of gas is the tip of the wedge to achieve that new word everyone’s using these days: affordability. Those gas station signs we all pass displaying that day’s cost per gallon acts as a national barometer about how we feel about the economy.

President Trump declared Monday that the US would be “screwed” if the Supreme Court rules against his reciprocal tariff policies — arguing the feds would have to “pay back” billions in revenue collected over the past year.

“The actual numbers that we would have to pay back if, for any reason, the Supreme Court were to rule against the United States of America on Tariffs, would be many Hundreds of Billions of Dollars,”

don’t mean to sound like a conspiracy nut, but we’re being manipulated. By “we,” I mean all of us—you, me, anybody who is exposed to any media at all, but especially social media. We’re not being lied to, exactly, but we’re being force-fed a version of the truth that is intended to control our emotions, influence our reactions, and direct our behavior. The powers that be—and this is very much a part of the rupture between the ruling class and the country class—want to encourage specific social and political responses from us and are doing everything they can to make them happen.

In Jaromil Jireš’s 1969 film The Joke, written by Milan Kundera, a young Czech student’s life is quietly destroyed by a sentence meant in jest. A postcard. A slogan. A flash of irony. Under communism, humor is not harmless; it is deviation. The collective takes offense, and ideology responds with merciless efficiency. No mob forms. No villain monologues. A life is simply erased because individual expression collides with collectivist certainty.
What makes The Joke unsettling is not brutality but banality. The system doesn’t rage; it processes. It doesn’t argue; it categorizes. The crime is not violence or conspiracy but nonconformity.

In an exclusive interview, Christopher Rufo and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent laid out just how vast the problem has become — and why Minnesota is just the tip of the iceberg because what the Treasury Department has uncovered is worse than most people realize.

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) Since January 2009, the blame for most violence against law enforcement in the United States can be laid at the feet of His High Holiness the Lightbringer Barack Obama. While it's true that the Democrats frequently had a fraught relationship with the law and those who enforce it before then, Obama's presidency retrofitted the party's DNA with hatred of all cops.
In any police/civilian conflict, Obama was never presidential or circumspect in his responses. His default was always to jump to conclusions before getting any facts and assume the worst about law enforcement and side with the lawbreakers.

Iran is at a crossroads. The largest and most sustained wave of nationwide protests since the “Woman, Life, Freedom” uprising in 2022 and 2023 is now sweeping the country. A donation on the page set up for Jonathan Ross — who federal officials said was the Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who fired fatal “defensive shots” at the anti-ICE protester and mom of three — boasts a top donation from a man named William Ackman.

The Billionaire Tax Act isn’t even officially on the California ballot yet, but that hasn’t stopped businessmen, entrepreneurs, and investors from fleeing the state, taking $1 trillion in wealth – along with jobs and opportunity – with them.
Tech entrepreneur Chamath Palihapitiya has been keeping track of who’s decided to leave the state in advance of this “temporary” tax.
“We had $2T of billionaire wealth just a few weeks ago. Now, 50% of that wealth has left – taking their income tax revenue, sales tax revenue, real estate tax revenue, and all their staffs (and their salaries and income taxes) with them,” he posted on X this weekend.

Last Thursday Vice President JD Vance joined a White House press briefing to discuss initiatives the Trump administration is taking to investigate the pervasive welfare fraud that has been discovered in Minnesota. He was inevitably asked questions about the death of Renee Good after she attempted to drive her SUV over an ICE agent in Minneapolis. Vance described the media coverage of the death as “disgraceful,” and followed up with this question: “You guys are meant to report the truth. How have you let yourselves become agents of propaganda?”
