They included rat and roach infestation; broken doors and refrigerators; and mold, records show.
Mamdani visited the affordable-housing complex best known for being the birthplace of hip-hop on Jan. 4 to introduce Levy, 54,

A federal judge has ordered the empanelment of a new federal grand jury following a motion from the U.S. Attorney's Office, according to court records.
The grand jury is set to meet on Jan. 12 in Fort Pierce, Fla., following an order that Chief Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida issued on Sept. 26, 2025. President Trump has kept his promise to seal the border upon resuming office in January of 2025. Illegal crossings are down significantly.
Four years of open borders under Biden resulted in millions of illegals entering the United States with no vetting or accountability whatsoever.
The result is a continuous pursuit of illegal aliens by law enforcement agencies such as ICE. There are also state agencies, such as the Texas DPS, which have worked with the Border Patrol to protect Americans from illegal alien criminals.

When protesters flood Iran’s streets demanding freedom, who benefits from convincing the world they’re chanting for a new Shah? As a fourth major uprising erupts across the country, a familiar deception is underway—one where the clerical regime and its supposed nemesis, Reza Pahlavi, share a common interest: erasing the democratic alternative from the narrative.
Protests began last weekend when shopkeepers and bazaar merchants launched an impromptu strike against an economic crisis that pushed inflation above 42 percent. Within days, demonstrations spread to universities and dozens of cities, with protesters explicitly calling for regime change.
We’ve seen this before. Just over three years ago,

During the period of the Scottish Enlightenment, the study of government and constitutions was undertaken as a cultural phenomenon, even as the fascinating ruins and relics of ancient societies were being unearthed in Italy and Greece. One scholar, Alexander Fraser Tytler, devoted his life to the study of the life span of history’s democracies, forming a theory based on the evidence: “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury.”
In the United States, up until 1913, a federal budget was created by the representatives of the states in Congress,

President Trump’s call for Sen. Susan Collins (R) to be ousted in November tossed a monkey wrench into the high-stakes Maine Senate race, raising further questions about the GOP’s most vulnerable incumbent and whether she will be able to pull off another high-wire act in the blue-leaning state this year.
Frustrations at the White House boiled over on Thursday after Collins and four other Republicans sided with Democrats on a war powers resolution that would block further military action in Venezuela. While Republicans were miffed at the attack on the handful of members,

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins warned Minnesota’s Democrat leaders on Friday their “handouts to thieves” are at an end, her announcement coming amid news about rampant fraud in the state. In her letter to Gov. Tim Walz (D) and Mayor Jacob Frey (D), Rollins said, “The widespread and systemic fraud associated with federal benefit programs in the State of Minnesota and the City of Minneapolis demonstrate an inability to handle federal resources without additional oversight and accountability measures in place.”
She also mentioned the $250 million “Feeding Our Future” scheme and alleged scams involving the Small Business Administration Paycheck Protection Program and daycare centers.

President Donald Trump is once again calling for Biden administration attack dog Jack Smith to go to prison after reports of a hefty bribe Smith paid to an informant.
Unconstitutionally appointed Justice Department (DOJ) Special Counsel Jack Smith spent years engaging in sketchy campaigns to take down Republican politicians before he became particularly infamous for his aggressive legal campaign against Donald Trump. Now that Trump is president again, and as evidence of Smith’s wrongdoing continues to pile up, the president is right to call for accountability and justice against Smith

Following Washinton’s 2025 unsuccessful attempt to violate the Catholic seal of confession, a proposed Arizona law attempts to do the same. Arizona Bill HB 2039 seeks to modify state law by making it a class 6 felony, with fines of up to $150,000 and up to two years of imprisonment, if priests, with reasonable suspicion that abuse penitents disclosed in confession is ongoing, will continue, or may be a threat to other minors, fail to report this to peace officers or the department of child safety promptly.
Given the danger HB 2039 poses, this column highlights Catholic Church teachings about confession before examining selected litigation —

There is a battle across the Anglosphere on the Right side of the political spectrum. We see it in Britain between a ‘we mean business on immigration’ insurgent Reform Party riding high in the polls and the established Tory Party that really did nothing (and repeatedly broke manifesto promises) on that issue and a host of other issues for 14 years. We see it in Australia between a lifeless, Labour-lite dominated Liberal Party – that is unelectable – and the various conservative splinter parties, most noticeably One Nation. And we see it, in a different guise, even in the US.

It’s an odd predicament for a leading Democratic presidential contender. Gavin Newsom’s biggest strength—political spin and performance come almost second nature to him—could also be his biggest liability as he strains to remake the tarnished image of the state he has governed for the last seven years.
Newsom, with his smooth-talking, rapid-fire responses and his attempt to out-Trump Trump on social media aggression, is everything Kamala Harris wasn’t in 2024. But neither Californian can easily shake the biggest millstone dragging down their White House ambitions. Their failed progressive policies have sullied the Golden State’s image, driving up prices, homelessness, and mismanagement.
