The organization that oversees the Nobel Peace Prize is throwing cold water on talk of Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado giving her recent award to President Donald Trump.
Once the Nobel Peace Prize is announced, it can’t be revoked, transferred or shared with others, the Norwegian Nobel Institute said in a short statement on Friday.
“The decision is final and stands for all time,” it said.
The statement comes after Machado said she’d like to give or share the prize with Trump, who oversaw the successful U.S. operation to capture authoritarian Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro. He is facing drug trafficking charges in New York.

PBS confirmed the cancellation in a post on X, stating: “Due to federal budget cuts, PBS News had to make the difficult decision to rework our staffing and programming. This Sunday, our PBS News Weekend team will sign off the air.”
The announcement follows the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) voting to dissolve itself on January 5, 2026, completing a shutdown process that began after the rescission of federal funding triggered by a May 2025 executive order from President Donald Trump and a $9 billion rescissions package passed by Congress in mid-2025. CPB President Patricia Harrison said,

WASHINGTON — The US used a powerful mystery weapon that brought Venezuelan soldiers to their knees, “bleeding through the nose” and vomiting blood during the daring raid to capture dictator Nicolas Maduro, according to a witness account posted Saturday on X by the White House press secretary.
In a jaw-dropping interview, the guard described how American forces wiped out hundreds of fighters without losing a single soldier, using technology unlike anything he has ever seen — or heard.
“We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation,” the guard said. “The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions.

On the heels of one ICE protester claiming it is time to “show up with guns and end this,” a self-declared antifa activist says we have the Second Amendment to fight “occupation.”
In a video, posted by I Meme Therefore I am, “Kyle” says, “We are under occupation, and this what the Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment for.” [Tweet, video]
On January 9, 2026, Breitbart News reported on an ICE protester who was interviewed about Wednesday’s ICE-involved shooting and said, “We have to show up with guns and end this.”
The protester accused ICE of shooting people “with no cause”

ROSEVILLE, Minn. — More than one thousand people crammed into a Minnesota church Saturday for “training” in how to deal with ICE in the wake of Renee Nicole Good’s fatal shooting — during which the radical leftist organizer urged participants to annoy the agents like “mosquitoes.”
Program sponsor Monarca trains so-called “upstander legal observers” to follow, track, report, and record Department of Homeland Security officers while they are in the midst of operations, and urged the mostly white, middle-aged and elderly attendees to attend protests with gas masks, sunglasses and phone chargers. “And a pencil,” they said. “In Minnesota, bring a pencil; a pen will freeze.”

Newly surfaced video appears to show Renee Nicole Good blocking ICE agents with her SUV for more than three minutes before she was fatally shot during a Minneapolis immigration operation.
The 3½-minute clip, posted on X Saturday, was shot from high up and shows Good’s vehicle stopped diagonally across the street, obstructing one lane of traffic.
Her horn blares continuously as she rocks side to side in the driver’s seat, behavior one X user described as “dancing.” [Tweet, video]
The video was filmed from across the street and captures the minutes before the fatal encounter, as federal agents slowly approach the SUV while bystanders yell and whistle nearby.

Iran’s parliament speaker warned Sunday that the U.S. military and Israel would be “legitimate targets” if America strikes the Islamic Republic over the ongoing protests roiling the country, as threatened by President Donald Trump.
Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf made the threat after nationwide protests challenging Iran’s theocracy saw protesters flood the streets in the country’s capital and its second-largest city into Sunday morning, crossing the two-week mark as violence surrounding the demonstrations has killed at least 116 people, activists said.
With the internet down in Iran and phone lines cut off, gauging the demonstrations from abroad has grown more difficult.

In a chilling move, the UK government has rolled out a taxpayer-funded video game that paints every curious teenager as a far-right extremist. The "Pathways" game, backed by the Home Office's Prevent counter-terrorism program threatens young players with referrals to anti-terror experts simply for questioning unchecked mass migration or engaging with online debates about British identity. (snip) Players guide a character named "Charlie" -- using "they" pronouns" through everyday scenarios that quickly spiral into warnings of extremism.

A harrowing eyewitness account from a Venezuelan guard who was on the ground when Operation Absolute Resolve hit — the mission to nab illegitimate then-president Nicolás Maduro — describes an unknown sonic weapon used by the U.S. against his security forces. According to the guard, the sonic blast caused them to experience headaches, disorientation, and vomiting of blood as they were completely incapacitated.
But is this report true? Did we unleash some heretofore unknown powerful weapon that literally floored much of the enemy before any shots were even fired?
In a Saturday social media post, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt seemed to imply that the answer was “yes.”

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin compared the U.S. to Iran in several social media posts Sunday, claiming both countries are guilty of "killing protesters."
Martin made his first comparison on X, expressing support for both protesters in the U.S. and Iran for rising up against "systems that wield violence without accountability."
"From Tehran to my birthplace of Minneapolis, people are rising up against systems that wield violence without accountability. In Iran, brave protestors confront a far-right theocratic regime that crushes dissent and denies basic freedoms," Martin wrote.

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had been acting inhumanely and illegally.
Murphy said, “There have already been over a dozen shootings all across our country by ICE officers. The bottom line is that the way in which DHS is conducting itself today is making our communities less safe. It’s not adding to public safety.”
Host Kristen Welker said, “You posted online earlier this week, quote, Democrats cannot vote for a DHS budget that doesn’t restrain the growing lawlessness of this agency. You obviously know government funding runs out in less than three weeks.

Whoopsie. Look what Tampon Tim signed into law back in 2020. As the circus over the George Floyd protests raged on, Minnesota’s Legislature updated its “use-of-force” statute, and Gov. Walz signed it into law that July.
(snip)
MN law §609.066: Officers can use deadly force if a driver accelerates toward them, creating immediate life-threatening danger. No need to wait for impact—they can act based on apparent intent & proximity.
(snio)
And it’s all based on the totality of circumstances known at the moment, not some hindsight debate after the fact.
