Why Should Americans Die for European Tyranny?

After the European Commission levied a several-hundred-million-dollar fine on Elon Musk and his social media platform X earlier this month, journalist Michael Shellenberger wrote a damning post in which he excoriated Europe’s rank censorship and state-sponsored propaganda. He accused the commission of engaging “in a deception campaign aimed at confusing” Europeans and Americans into thinking that European elites’ “goal” is anything other than “to censor the American people.” Shellenberger pointed out that Musk’s fine came while European governments are demanding backdoor access to all private text messages (under the pretense of combatting the transmission of child pornography) and creating a so-called “Democracy Shield”

We shouldn't. Enough of our young American men died for them in WWII. And many, like my dad, was injured a few times over there and died with shrapnel still in his body. No more. Let them fight for themselves.

Elon should send out a message to everyone in the EU via X about the EU bureaucrats suppression of speech. Then, turn off X in the EU. If the EU wants suppression of speech, Elon will give it to them.

Back during the Biden administration, the FBI appeared to be solely focused on rounding up conservatives. At the same time, all kinds of other crimes in their mandate -- spies, terrorism, blue-city corruption -- showed little evidence of activity or results. Obviously, that allowed the crazies on the left to grow in number and get bolder in their plans, but the results seen now suggest some impressive corrective work. It looks like the FBI -- and the many law enforcement agencies that helped them -- is back.

Zohran Mamdani, the mayor-elect of New York City, is (despite his denials) quite clearly a Marxist, dreaming of the day when he can seize the means of production. He is also a Twelver Shi’ite Muslim — you know, the good folks who rule the Islamic Republic of Iran and scream “Death to America” on a routine basis. And so it shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that Mamdani’s plans for New York are not exactly going to transform the Big Apple into a hub for business and opportunity.

I strongly suspect the sentiments I am about to express mean this is not going to be a very popular article, and I equally strongly suspect the Daily Sceptic is one of the very few publications in this country which would actually print it. But, when it comes to Australia’s horrific Bondi Beach shooting, in which at least 15 Jews celebrating Hannukah were shot dead by a father-and-son team of presumable Islamists, it may in some ways have been better if the brave and noble actions of the man who ran up to one of the two terrorists and wrestled his gun away had not happened.

The recent Democratic cry of “affordability” is ironic in many ways. The left-wing narrative of Trump hyperinflation was one of desperation and came only after previous memes had failed to resonate. The 2025 generic “dictator,” “fascist,” and “Nazi” smear points never helped the left much.Nor did the nihilist government shutdown over the “Obamacare crisis” work other than perhaps to depress fourth-quarter GDP. Nor did the earlier spring 2025 melodramatic predictions of an impending “Trade War,” “Recession,” and stock-market “Meltdown resonate.” Nor did the “Gestapo,” “SS,” and “Nazi” ICE smears become effective talking points. The “illegal orders” and “unconstitutional use of force” in destroying narcotraffickers’ shipments in transit of lethal drugs were mostly empty rhetoric.

For the last eight years, the basement-dwelling interlocutors of the left have screamed and yelled for revolution, bearing their signs, blocking the streets, and bawling in front of politicians’ homes.Conservatives and the general public have endured these mantras blasted all over social media and the airwaves. These empty epithets have dominated college campuses, overwhelmed classrooms and public squares, and featured prominently in debates, podcasts, and talk shows. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is often touted as a successor to President Erdogan and has again and again viciously attacked Israel for defending itself. On November 30, while in Iran, Fidan labeled Israel as “the biggest threat to stability in the Middle East” just as he bragged about seeking to significantly expand Turkish cooperation on issues such as energy, trade, border protection, and Middle East security needs with Iran. In August Fidan said “Israel’s reckless attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria,

The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Thursday imposed sanctions on Efrain Antonio Campo Flores and Franqui Francisco Flores de Freitas, Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro’s convicted drug-trafficking nephews. Flores and Flores de Freitas were arrested and convicted of drug trafficking crimes in the United States, but released and sent back to Venezuela by former U.S. President Joe Biden in 2022. OFAC also reinstated U.S. sanctions on Carlos Erik Malpica Flores, another of Maduro’s nephews. Malpica was originally sanctioned by President Donald Trump in his first term but had his sanctions lifted by the Biden administration.

Venezuela functions both as a forward operating base and as an insurance policy for the regime, safeguarding its operatives and extending its reach. Allowing Iran to entrench itself in the Western Hemisphere would only create a hostile foothold from which it could coordinate operations, support proxy groups, and control regional dynamics with near impunity. President Donald J. Trump's policy on Venezuela is not only strategically sound but necessary to finally put a stop to Iran's explicit plans for the U.S. Iran has recently come out publicly, voicing strong support for Venezuela against the United States. Its statement reflects a deep strategic and military relationship that serves multiple interests for Tehran.

The unspeakable tragedy that has been visited upon the family of Rob Reiner has likely left all parents in shock. Given what has been available to read about Nick Reiner these past several days, since the murder of his parents, it has shed a little light on what that family has endured since their son Nick was eight years old, maybe even before that. He was apparently a difficult child long before he became a drug user. His parents tried to help him way back then after he disrupted their yoga sessions. They hired their trainer to work specifically with Nick, thinking yoga would help him

A Wisconsin judge accused of concealing an undocumented man to prevent his arrest by immigration authorities was found guilty of felony obstruction, according to ABC Milwaukee affiliate WISN, which was in the courtroom for the trial. Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was charged in a two-count federal indictment that alleges she obstructed official Department of Homeland Security removal proceedings and knowingly concealed the man from immigration authorities at a courthouse in April. Dugan was found guilty of obstructing federal agents and not guilty of concealing an undocumented immigrant from arrest during an April courthouse incident.

Democrats are sinking like a stone, and the new Quinnipiac poll makes it official: their congressional approval rating has hit a historic low of just 18%, with a brutal 73% disapproving. That's the worst number Quinnipiac has recorded since they started asking the question back in 2009. Even CNN's chief data analyst, Harry Enten, couldn't hide his shock, declaring that "Democrats, in the minds of the American public, are lower than the Dead Sea." The real kicker? Democrats are turning on their own party. Only 42% of Democratic voters approve of how their representatives in Congress are performing, while 48% disapprove.

When I enter an establishment, the wait staff is at twenty percent, perhaps even a little more. The tip is built into my tipping psyche. At that point, it’s up to the wait staff to begin working their way down.

Nuno F.G. Loureiro, the 47-year-old MIT professor, was fatally shot at his home in the Boston suburb of Brookline by his former classmate.

She had two interviews that got attention on Wednesday, one with former Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Jaime Harrison and one with Jimmy Kimmel on his ABC late night show. Both interviews were just another window into why Harris would be a terrible candidate for 2028, given the comments that she made. Harrison asked Harris about 2028, and she left the door wide open. Meanwhile, the interviewer cried when asked by his wife when the time would come for black women [to be president]. Um, guys? She didn't lose because she was black, any more than Hillary Clinton

Untold pixels have been spilled on the subject of illegal immigration, in the legacy media, the alternative media, and the blogosphere. President Trump was re-elected, in no small part, due to his promise to address the wide-open borders policy of the Biden years, and despite opposition at every step from the legacy media and Democrats (but I repeat myself) he's been doing that. But what about legal immigration? Some recent polling has revealed that a plurality of responders would like to see legal immigration reduced, or even halted altogether. Two-thirds of Republicans want legalized migration to be decreased or ended, says a new poll by YouGov. In contrast,

There is a question floating around conservative circles that makes polite society squirm, which is usually how you know it is worth asking. It went viral again as it was posed on X in November.
