The grand plans of the EU Leadership failed to generate their desired result. Initially, Ursula von der Leyen, Frederich Merz, Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer intended to permanently confiscate the Russian sovereign wealth fund and use it to fund their interests in Ukraine. However, the EU coalition didn’t agree.

In his usual pro-Russia propagandist style, Sundance tells half the story. The Belgians -- who would be taking on the bulk of the chore of liquidating Russian assets -- declined to do so, for reasons that are 50% "rule of law and sound international banking" related and 50% pusillanimous. What Sundance doesn't mention is that the Russian assets will remain frozen and if (when?) Russia loses the war, those assets will likely be handed over to Ukraine as reparations to assist in funding its reconstruction. And the Russians don't have much of a hand to play in this, as they've lately resorted to ineffectual "lawfare" as a public forum to moan: https://www.forbes.com/sites/andyjsemotiuk/2025/12/18/frozen-russian-assets-russia-lawfare-and-europes-high-stakes-gamble/ Poor Sundance... His holdings in Lukoil, Gazprom, etc. are all heading toward $0, and all he can do is carp about Ukraine getting $100 billion in loans... and maybe $200 billion in reparations later from a country that has inflicted trillions in damage on it. I say "stick it" to Sundance, Putin, and the Russians who support him.

EU, we still don't seem to see your multi-person army and offensive and defensive artillery needed for fighting Putie's army. And hmmm, no missile system. How does taking Putie's money help you to achieve these capabilities. since you do not appear to be willing? Afterall, you are the appeasers of the European/Asian continent.

Inaddition to the opening paragraph posted, here ar3e the other two paragraphs that Sundance wrote: "After 16 hours of failed internal negotiations the EU ended up creating a $90 Billion euro-backed financial loan to Zelenskyy which he will not have to pay back until Russian reparations are paid to Ukraine. The European elites essentially used EU taxpayers to create an EU loan to Zelenskyy." The remainder is Politico's report from Brussels.

In no way is Ukraine winning this war. They have lost massive infrastructure and more than a whole generation of young men -- with very little to show for it. That is just reality. This is a war of attrition, and Russia has about 6 times as many people and way more than that advantage in land and industry. I don't like Russia, but I'm a realist. This useless war needs to end now, not keep being funded by Europe until we have WW-3!!!!

The EU is so afraid of Russia they are afraid to take action. Seize Russian assets and Putin marches into the EU. Better to keep the war prolonged and in Ukraine than risk it moving into the EU.

The motives of 48-year-old Claudio Manuel Neves Valente for both attacks remains unclear, but federal prosecutors on Thursday disclosed an interesting detail about the relationship of the killer to one of his victims. Nuno F.G. Loureiro, the 47-year-old MIT professor, was fatally shot at his home in the Boston suburb of Brookline by his former classmate.

(2) U.S. Emissaries Witkoff and Kushner are silent on the announced negotiated result. (3) Ukraine’s lead negotiator Rustem Umerov notes, “There is a lot of noise and anonymous speculation in the media right now. Please don’t fall for rumors and provocations. Half of $18 billion in federal welfare funds, which supports 14 Minnesota-run programs since 2018, has been lost to fraud, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson said during a press conference Thursday. People come from all over the world to steal millions from U.S. government Medicaid, housing, and other programs, he added. “Minnesota has become a magnet for fraud, so much so that we have developed a fraud tourism industry — people coming to our state purely to exploit and defraud its programs,” Thompson said. “This is a deeply unsettling reality that all Minnesotans should understand.”

A Georgia State Election Board investigation substantiated that Fulton County violated election rules in 2020 by failing to have poll workers sign required tabulation tapes for early votes in 36 out of 37 advanced voting precincts, affecting approximately 315,000 ballots. The engineering building where the shooting took place didn’t have a swipe-card mechanism and could be accessed by anyone through the public-facing coffee shop, students said. It didn’t have security officer posted at the front either, like some other buildings do, school officials have said.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday directing federal agencies to reclassify marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act. This shift acknowledges the drug's potential medical uses while placing it alongside substances like ketamine and codeine-laced Tylenol, which carry moderate risks of dependence. The move builds on a process initiated under the Biden administration but stalled by inaction for years. Trump emphasized that the order facilitates essential research into marijuana's benefits and dangers without legalizing recreational use nationwide. "This reclassification order will make it far easier to conduct marijuana-related medical research,"
