"Because I grew up as a religious minority -- a Greek Orthodox kid treading water in the Kelly-green sea of Chicago Irish Catholics -- I was never that keen on hunting down heretics. 'Are you really Christian?' a kid from St. Catherine said during our endless theological discussions either at the playground or playing fast pitching on the wall of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox church. 'Do you believe in Jesus or the Greek gods? Father Kane doesn't think you're Christians.' Please don't burn me, I cried. I'm a Red Sox fan."

We do not yet have enough information to prove or disprove spiritual matters. They are entirely in the realm of faith for now. All AI would be able to do is read what people have written and experienced and make a best guess based on that. We do that now without AI. I cant imagine some computer telling me about my beliefs.

I fail to see any purpose in this disjointed article. The author attempts humor and attempts social commentary. He fails at both. As an Orthodox Christian myself, I find it incongruous that a Greek Orthodox mother would entertain a Roman Catholic priest on Wednesday with a meat meal. Both the Orthodox and the Roman Catholics of previous decades abstained from eating meat, inter alia, on Wednesdays, to commemorate the day on which Christ was betrayed. Most odious is that the ethnic Greek author is Orthodox, yet he cannot correctly spell "Kyrie Eleison". You have not enlightened anyone, Mr. Kass.

I've tried using Chat GPT to write something and it forgets all the time. It will agree to follow a certain criteria of rules, doing it briefly, and then not do it. It can regurgitate facts from long ago but It has short term memory problems.

A lawsuit filed Thursday by residents of central Louisiana challenges whether a state can legally take private property for private carbon capture and sequestration projects. The lawsuit, filed in the 19th Judicial District Court in East Baton Rouge, claims laws passed since 2020 violate the state constitution by allowing companies engaged in carbon capture and storage to use eminent domain for private gain.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton's dismissive description of half the country as a "basket of deplorables" may have cost her the 2016 election. Now the National Education Association's use of "villains," in handouts for an upcoming "Advancing LGBTQ+ Justice and Transgender Advocacy" training, may fuel bicameral efforts to remove its 119-year-old congressional charter.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer is launching an investigation into Sixteen Thirty Fund's Chorus Creator Incubator Program, according to letters obtained by the Daily Caller. The Sixteen Thirty Fund -- whose donors include nonprofits tied to George Soros -- is a nonprofit that has been accused of trying to sidestep campaign-finance disclosure rules enforced by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) and Justice Department. It also bypasses standard media-ethics practices meant to differentiate real journalism from paid political work that must be disclosed, according to Comer.

Interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan is defending her handling of the grand jury proceedings, which resulted in two criminal charges against fired FBI Director James Comey, in the wake of critiques from a magistrate judge and probing questions Wednesday from the federal judge presiding over the case. Halligan . . . pushed back on multiple criticisms in Wednesday evening court filings, telling the judge that "the grand jury was provided the proposed indictment, deliberated, and determined probable cause existed to believe that the defendant had committed the crimes charged in two counts" and claiming that the magistrate judge had misrepresented her comments . . . .

The President himself remains unsatisfied with the answers he's been given about the circumstances leading to 20-year-old Thomas Crooks climbing on a rooftop with an AR-15 rifle and firing eight times at Trump, narrowly missing his head but hitting his head.

When a respected former prosecutor approached the Justice Department in 2018 with a witness who claimed he had evidence on Hunter Biden's alleged misdeeds, they discounted his offer and later subpoenaed his phone records. The incident is gaining new salience after recent revelations that DOJ special counsel Jack Smith cast a net of subpoenas for phone records of several GOP members of Congress and even obtained government phones that had belonged to President Donald Trump and his former vice president.

The Trump administration has so far remained silent on a widening corruption scandal inside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government and inner circle. The White House did not respond to a request for comment on a $100 million corruption probe announced this week that has already prompted the resignations of senior Ukrainian officials. Corruption has long been a friction point in U.S.-Ukraine relations.

The changes, already approved by the USPS Board of Governors, would raise Priority Mail rates by about 6.6%, Priority Mail Express by 5.1%, USPS Ground Advantage by 7.8%, and Parcel Select by 6%. Prices for mailing services, including the cost of a First-Class stamp, will remain unchanged in January. The move follows the release of fiscal 2025 results showing a $9 billion net loss, slightly better than the $9.5 billion the prior year. Operating revenue rose 1.2% to $80.5 billion,

A liberal columnist complained Thursday about hearing the American national anthem in Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital. Jamie Stiehm, who has contributed to several corporate media outlets, including The New York Times and The Washington Post, wrote for The Capital Times on Thursday that though the “Star-Spangled Banner” might be appropriate for “ballparks and stadiums,” it is “dissonant” to play before a classical music concert in today’s political climate. Stiehm said that classical music transcends international boundaries, but the national anthem pulls the arts back into the orbit of President Donald Trump’s influence. The TPS program allows certain migrants to stay in the country legally if they cannot return home due to natural disasters, armed conflicts or other extraordinary events, and Minnesota has, in recent decades, become the home of tens of thousands of Somalians due to resettlement. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials continue to do incredible work despite constant harassment and violence, with the latest numbers out of Houston illustrating the impressive efforts of federal officers. Murderers, pedophiles, and gang members are among the more than 3,500 criminal illegal aliens whom ICE arrested in Houston during the six weeks of the Democrat-induced Schumer Shutdown. This is particularly impressive because ICE wasn’t getting paid during this month and a half, as they got thousands of dangerous foreign criminals off our streets. “ICE officers are facing a 1,000% increase in assaults against them and an 8,000% increase in death threats,
