President Trump hailed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s surprising resignation announcement Friday as “great news” for America.
“I think it’s great news for the country,” Trump told ABC News during a brief phone call.
“It’s great,” he added. The president indicated that Greene (R-Ga.) did not share her plans with him ahead of her social media post announcing her intention to leave office on Jan. 5, 2026, and said he had no plans to speak with her. “Nah, it doesn’t matter, you know? But I think it’s great,” Trump said. “I think she should be happy.”

Given the nature of her complete Turn Arounds and erratic switches in allegiances, I'll venture to say that Ms Greene is experiencing some difficult mental challenges, I wish her well in her recovery.

Regardless of what has gone on in recent days, I've seen MTG do some pretty spunky things in the past - especially concerning the J6 political prisoners. I don't know what's going on, but I hope the best for her.

Her political evolution is perhaps due to an age related hormone change? /s

This all started after she was informed by Trump that he wouldn’t endorse her for the Senate race in Georgia. She felt she was owed that for her loyalty. We can’t afford to risk a Senate seat to massage someone’s ego.

She loves the limelight. She will be either on a TV show as a "conservative", like George Conway is a "conservative", or a constant guest speaker who will keep attacking President Trump. The corrupt left wing media loves that.

Absolutely loved this Lady. Wish her the very best. Read where President Trump had quietly advised her that internal polling had her 20 points down state wide in her run for Governor....then the shtf . She is a rock ribbed American fighter for right against wrong and good over evil. Good luck and Gods Speed Marjorie.

I have no idea what happened to MTG. I used to like her willingness to stand up for herself, the President, and say and do all the right things. And then she got infected with TDS somehow. Her divorce sent her down the wrong path. Then something else did. Started hanging out with the wrong crowd. Depression? Now that she has time, maybe having a chat with her doctor would be timely. Does the GOP still hold the majority in the House because of this until she is replaced hopefully with another pubbie?
BTW, the link doesn't work.

If she ever had a chance at statewide office in Georgia, she's nuked it. Republicans won't support her because she turned on Trump, and Dems won't vote for her because she supported Trump. Last night, I had the same thought as #6. Would explain a lot.

I am very disappointed with some you Lucianne contributors. For you so suggest it is a female problem with MTG makes me very disappointed in those that did. I really had more respect for those of you in the past that chimed her leaving due to hormones, etc. I did not agree with her at times and I certainly don't agree with Trump at times. This does not mean our sex plays into it. If you are going to say something that really turns most of the population off and sounds chauvinistic, please don't not say anything.

I knew she wanted to give up her seat when she joined the Chamber of Commerce RINOs by calling for cheap imported labor for her consruction Co.
I was forced to cancel my instacrush on Marjorie. It was a bad week for her.

I completely agree with #9. She consistently fought for issues that were at the heart of MAGA. She didn't leave Trump so much as` he left her. She is a patriot, a champion of the common man, and I wish her all the very best.

If Trump met with a Commie from New York, why couldn't he meet with a loyal supporter for years...until now? It doesn't make sense. I don't think President Trump has thin skin so why all the negative remarks towards this woman? Please pray you all for Marjorie. If I were in her position I would want prayers.

Guessing MTG discovered she cannot win re-election and that's what's driving her resignation. She was probably reaching out for support and found nobody would return her calls. She was a snake in a pit of even bigger snakes. She apparently did not realize the environment she is living in. She's just not that big. She reminds me of Sarah Palin.without the charm.

I did not like this woman when she first came to Congress. I thought she and Lauren Boebert were both out for attention for themselves, first. Completely undignified, trashy women. Not sorry to see her go.

There was a lack of gratitude on President Trump’s part. Not a good look. Marjorie was the only one visiting J6 prisoners, good on vaccines, and held many MAGA Town Halls with Matt Gaetz when Trump was out of luck.

From Zero Hedge:
“Of particular note, Greene has become Congress's most outspoken Republican critic of US support of Israel, repeatedly opposing additional aid to what she calls the "secular government of Israel," accusing Israel of genocide in Gaza, and demanding that the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) register as a foreign agent. While not mentioning Israel by name in her resignation announcement, Greene appeared to take aim at those who put undue emphasis on Israel's interests: "America First should mean America First and only America First, with no other foreign country ever being attached to America First in our halls of government."”

Trump might do well to avoid getting too much personal rancor between himself and MTG. She'd likely be far more formidable as a dedicated enemy than Liz Cheney ever was. And she might be able to leg-sweep Vance's effort to be Trump's successor.

Strictly my opinion. MTG is very outspoken. She definitely was an ally for Donald Trump at one time. I pondered what went astray. The only thing I could come up with is Donald Trump did not select her for any kind of cabinet position or whatever. Her loyalty came with a cost?
