Ukraine Corruption Scandal Rocks Zelenskyy's

The Trump administration has so far remained silent on a widening corruption scandal inside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government and inner circle. The White House did not respond to a request for comment on a $100 million corruption probe announced this week that has already prompted the resignations of senior Ukrainian officials. Corruption has long been a friction point in U.S.-Ukraine relations.

Comments:

Zelenskyy ostensibly supports the probe after unsuccessfully attempting to shut it down.

Trump is just waiting for the Ukraine to publish all the files and there will be some high up US government and ex-government people exposed. There was a reason Biden was so free with our money supporting Ukraine.

This fiasco in Ukraine began as a CIA instigated "color revolution" civil war just as the Georgia mess years earlier. The CIA went out if control almost immediately after Truman established it. Truman himself condemned it only a month after the JFK assassination. It is decades past time to abolish it. https://www.ibtimes.com/jfk-assassination-one-month-after-jfks-murder-former-president-harry-truman-called-abolishing-cia

What does Morgan Phillips expect them to say? Ukraine has been corrupt for a long, long time. Biden was given Ukraine as his brief when he was Obama's VP. He did nothing but shut down a prosecutor and aid his druggie son's employment adventure with Burisma, then dumped a bazillion of our taxpayer dollars without any oversight. Ukraine's corruption is not Trump's baby.

Ukraine was the most corrupt nation on the planet before the Russian invasion. They paid millions in bribes to politicians all over the world, including both parties here. What kind of idiot would think they have in any way changed?

We are all owed a better explanation from the FBI and Secret Service about the attempted assassination of Donald Trump 16 months ago at a campaign rally in Butler, Pa. The President himself remains unsatisfied with the answers he's been given about the circumstances leading to 20-year-old Thomas Crooks climbing on a rooftop with an AR-15 rifle and firing eight times at Trump, narrowly missing his head but hitting his head.

When a respected former prosecutor approached the Justice Department in 2018 with a witness who claimed he had evidence on Hunter Biden's alleged misdeeds, they discounted his offer and later subpoenaed his phone records. The incident is gaining new salience after recent revelations that DOJ special counsel Jack Smith cast a net of subpoenas for phone records of several GOP members of Congress and even obtained government phones that had belonged to President Donald Trump and his former vice president.

The biggest development coming out of Charlie Kirk's murder last week is that this time the gun isn't to blame. This time, "social media" did it. On Sunday, the New York Times published an idiotic op-ed to that effect by Nathan Taylor Pemberton, who "writes about extremism," and whose last article for The Nation was presciently titled: "Why The Right Fantasizes About Death and Destruction." Immigrants detained in facilities across the U.S. would be able to contact their lawyers and families under legislation filed by a group of congressional Democrats. Sponsors of the legislation said it follows months of “credible reporting” that ICE and CBP have prevented detainees from contacting family members or legal representatives. “The Trump administration’s practice of snatching people off the street and denying them access to lawyers or calls to family is cruel, unnecessary, and puts U.S. citizens and lawfully present immigrants at risk of wrongful detention and deportation,”

Several years ago, my husband Steve and I were watching TV as an American politician of Hispanic descent responded to a challenging question by an antagonistic reporter. The politician gave such an eloquent and informed answer, sprinkling his response with historical facts, literary allusions, and even dashes of humor, that when he completed his answer, Steve said, “Damn...that is one brilliant guy!” Reflexively, I expressed what I’ve privately suspected for ages when witnessing similar scenarios: “He’s probably Jewish!” Steve laughed, but I meant it. COP30, the UN climate conference, is underway in Belem, Brazil. Thousands of representatives from all over the world have journeyed to discuss how to cut carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions to try to fight human-caused climate change. But ten years after the Paris Climate Agreement, the global consensus on climate change is crumbling. COP30 is the thirtieth “conference of the parties.” The first took place in Berlin in 1995. At COP21 in Paris in 2015, more than 190 countries signed the Paris Climate Agreement, pledging to cut emissions and to limit global warming to 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. About 50,000 people are attending COP30 from more than 190 nations.

But their definition of negotiating is “stalling for time.” In a podcast interview on November 10, Hamdan emphasized that only the first phase of the plan had been accepted, not Phase 2.
