President Donald Trump announced Friday night on Truth Social that he is withdrawing his support and endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling her a "ranting lunatic" and accusing the Georgia Republican of "complaining" instead of celebrating what he described as his administration’s "record achievements." The president claimed that Greene "has told many people that she is upset that I don’t return her phone calls anymore" in a long post where he ultimately vowed "Complete and Unyielding Support" to any conservative primary challenger leading into the 2026 midterm elections. Trump claimed Greene had "gone Far Left," citing her recent appearance on The View, and gave her the new nickname "Wacky Marjorie."

The EU's Kaja Kallas emphasised the need to follow international law on self-defence and UN mandates at the CELAC-EU summit in Colombia, amid continued US strikes on narco-boats. ...and cherished, colonial era ties between themselves and their former sovereign overlords...

President Donald Trump on Friday exempted key agricultural imports like coffee, cocoa, bananas and certain beef products from his higher tariff rates. The move comes as Trump faces political blowback for high prices at U.S. grocery stores. Some distributors of beef, coffee, chocolate and other common food items have raised prices as Trump's tariffs took hold this year, adding to pressure on household budgets created by decades-high inflation in recent years. Along with those imports, Trump's action Friday also exempts a range of fruits including tomatoes, avocados, coconuts, oranges and pineapples. Along with coffee, the tariff reductions extend to black and green tea, and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.

The BBC has apologised to US President Donald Trump for a Panorama episode that spliced parts of his 6 January 2021 speech together, but rejected his demands for compensation. The corporation said the edit had given "the mistaken impression that President Trump had made a direct call for violent action" and said it would not show the 2024 programme again. Lawyers for Trump have threatened to sue the BBC for $1bn (£759m) in damages unless the corporation issues a retraction, apologises and compensates him. The fallout from the scandal led to the resignations of BBC director general Tim Davie and head of news Deborah Turness on Sunday.

Blue Origin successfully launched its massive New Glenn rocket on Thursday following days of delays, with the spacecraft carrying NASA’s twin satellites bound for Mars. Thursday’s mission marked the second flight for billionaire Jeff Bezos’ 321-foot-long spacecraft, with the rocket soaring over Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Along with carrying the Blue and Gold satellites for NASA’s Escapade mission, Blue Origin also successfully landed the New Glenn booster back to Earth, a key feature for the reusable rocket that will allow the company to compete with Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

President Trump signed the revised continuing resolution, a short-term spending bill officially known as the "Continuing Appropriations, Agriculture (Ag), Legislative Branch, Military Construction (Milcon) and Veterans Affairs (VA), and Extensions Act, 2026," on Wednesday evening, which will fund the federal government through January 2026, ending the Schumer Shutdown once and for all. RedState covered the House passing it in a final vote earlier on Wednesday, with the help of a healthy cadre from the other side of the aisle, including Rep. Jared Golden (ME-6), who was the sole Dem to vote for the original CR over a month ago. As my colleague Sister Toldjah wrote: It's official:

This is a topic that keeps being brought up by various members of the Trump administration: The notion that tariff income from President Trump's tariffs has been robust enough to support a $2,000 rebate check for all Americans under a certain, unnamed income level. (I've seen a household income of under $100k kicked around as the top end.) Most recently, on Wednesday, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, in a reply to a question from a reporter, assured the White House Press Corps that something like this was in the works. Watch: Here's the exchange: Question: (President) Trump has talked about sending a $2,000 check to U.S. citizens. Earlier

Poll after poll found more Americans on both sides of the aisle blaming Republicans. Even Marjorie Taylor Greene blamed the GOP. For example, I've been through a number of dire apocalyptic warnings. When I was a kid, global cooling and a new ice age were going to bring down the curtain on Mother Earth within 40 years. Before the ice had a chance to show up, fears of overpopulation were being spread. Widespread famine was going to do us in. We're all aware of what happened next. The Federalist obtained the school’s plans for the site that once held the statue of Brigadier General George Rogers Clark, which indicate that the new park will celebrate “the Virginia landscape and Indigenous stewardship practices.” “The politicization of the university has reached a level of absurdity as it has gleefully destroyed statues of Virginians,” Ann H.
