The man has died, so some circumspection may be in order. There was a time when Dick Cheney was as vilified on the Left as he was embraced on the Right. He was as hated by leftists as President Trump is now for similar reasons: He was quite open about opposing their anti-American agenda, and he didn't seem to care very much what they thought about him. And, yes, he was also a member of the Washington elite, and part of the political establishment, that President Trump has so needfully displaced. He supported wars many wish we've never been involved in. This understandably has placed him in disfavor with many of us who support President Trump. However, at the end of a long and public life, he's earned a respite from further criticism from me, if not gratitude for his many decades of public service. I hope his friends, family, and admirers have fond memories of him to comfort them in his absence.

I know all children aren't necessarily a reflection of how they were raised but it is often a good reflection. When we see Liz I get the feeling she is exactly like her father in her political beliefs and deception to the people who elected her. I thought Dick was a good person while he was in office but now I no longer believe that and feel he was 100% a deep stater who worked to remove constitutional rights from all Americans while strengthening globalists who wish to weaken Americans.

While I detect the ambivalence of some here to denigrate a former stalwart member of the political right in this country, I think it's worthwhile to remember this one point: At the end of his life, the man appeared to sell out his country to the political left with his endorsement of Commie-la. Some offenses are unforgivable. This is one of them. It's right up there with John McCain -- a man who had distinguished military career (political career... not so much) -- casting the 51st and final vote to prevent the repeal of Obamacare in 2017.

It was an event where Democrats, Democratic mouthpieces, and old-guard Republicans rubbed shoulders in a putative show of mourning for a man who helped define the Republican Party of the early 21st century. And they were united in despising the man who’s reshaping it — and the country at large. Rachel Maddow, the progressive powerhouse of the newly rechristened MSNBC (it’s MS NOW, now), was in attendance after virtually building her career attacking Cheney and his role in the George W.
