What do you do with two million Gazans?

Generally speaking, the people of Gaza are barbarians. That’s not true to a person, but it’s true as a people. Their education level is extremely low, even in comparison to the education levels in Democrat-controlled big cities in America. They live in abject poverty. Their economy is primitive and much of it is barter-based. Their currency, to the extent they use one, is the Israeli shekel but U.S. dollars and Jordanian dinars are in regular circulation as well. Their unemployment rate is thought to be around 80%, though figures are hard to come by. There’s scarcely any industry. There are few stores, and their shelves are empty. Most of this squalor is endemic.

They have been MORE Barbaric than their neighbors as far back as the earliest of recorded History,, and have remained so as their neighbors, jews and Muslims alike have gradually become ever more civilized(some faster than others). Keep in mind...Goliath came out of Gaza, and his death brought a sacking of the place. There have been several since by nearly every major power, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Mamelukes, Ottomans, at one point in history they were the "Philistines", later made up much of the Bashi Bazouks, while they were temprarily aligned with many powerful factions ALL eventually drove them out and back to Gaza because they would not/could not stop being bloody, violent, barbarians. EVERY arab country has exported them when they became a danger to THEIR functioning societies, always back to Gaza. NOBODY likes them, NOBODY wants them. The only course seems to be to do what is necessary to disarm them....for at least a generation, so that they can become less bloody minded., and a new generation can perhaps grow up without constant warfare, and decide they like it.

Democrats are willing to shut down the government if Republicans refuse to re-negotiate part of the tax bill passed in July. They say the main thing they want re-negotiated are government subsidies for Obamacare. The Democrats have some leverage here because, while it took only a Senate majority to pass the tax bill, and the Republicans hold that majority, it takes a supra-majority to pass a bill to keep the government from shutting down. A supra-majority cannot be achieved without a handful of Democrats. There are several principled objections to this strategy by the Democrats, which are worth mentioning before I get to the main point.

“Epic” is how a lengthy article in the Wall Street Journal last week described the current investment in AI. In today’s dollars, it dwarfs the investment in the railways in the 1800s. It dwarfs the investment in electrifying America in the early 1900s. It dwarfs the investment in the interstate highway system in the mid-1900s. It dwarfs the investments in the internet at the end of the last century. So, went the gist of the Journal’s article, it must all be an investment bubble – right? – that will come crashing down the way Pets.com and other internet stocks did.

The banality of this murderer’s evil 11 replies

Political assassinations in America are usually committed by nutjobs. Lee Harvey Oswald was a communism-sympathizing loser. James Earl Ray was a career criminal who copped a guilty plea to avoid the death penalty and then falsely maintained his innocence until the day he died in prison. This time feels different. This murderer looked normal. He earned college credits while in high school. He was a straight-A student. He had no criminal record. He lived at home with his parents, two registered Republicans active in their Mormon church in conservative Utah. The family all talked ‘round the dinner table, as families used to.

President Trump’s efforts to bring down crime have been successful in Washington, D.C. The rate of murder and other violent crimes is down substantially, and the rate of car-jackings is down dramatically. Even the Democrat mayor of the city admitted that the crime rate has dropped. Oddly, however, she mumbles in the next breath that the program is “not working,” apparently to mollify national stage Democrats to whom she answers. Such as Democrat Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer. He was asked at the outset whether the initial 30-day period for the effort could be extended.

It’s now a truism that the policies of the left are widely viewed as outrageous – at least the cultural ones such as allowing male voyeurs and exhibitionists into girls’ bathrooms, discriminating to benefit favored races and sexual orientations, grabbing the guns held by hundreds of millions of law-abiding Americans while simultaneously coddling criminals who will never give up theirs, and abolishing the nation’s borders. Such issues have earned a name – the “80/20 issues” – because something near 80% of Americans oppose the left on such issues.

The Left pretends to pity the plight of the people we used to call “vagrants” but are now required to call “homeless.” Their numbers keep growing – despite the fact that we keep throwing money at them and giving them free housing, free meals and other free stuff. Let’s stop right there. That last sentence, expressed as I just expressed it, is easily recognized as a “Fox Butterfield.” He was a New York Times columnist who expressed puzzlement at the “paradox” that more criminals were being sentenced to prison even though crime was down.

Vladimir Putin confirmed last week at their Alaska summit that if Donald Trump had been president three years ago, Russia would not have invaded Ukraine. It was probably an attempt at flattery (which Trump did not acknowledge) but, still, it’s probably true. Even if it’s pure flattery, I cannot imagine Putin bothering to bestow such flattery on Trump’s predecessor. At this same summit, Trump ordered a flyby of a B2 bomber – the ones that recently made a significant impression on the world, on Iran, and on Iran’s desert nuke factories.

There’s a Democrat in Texas (yes, really!) who lost a race for senator, and then lost a race for governor. He’s a designated loser. His name is Robert but he has a nickname. Since he’s proven himself not exactly an Alpha, you might assume his nickname is “Beta.” Close. It’s “Beto.” Beto has a lot more in common with “Beta” than with “Rambo.” Beto/Beta attended elite private boarding schools and then Columbia where he took a degree in English Literature. It was probably Shakespeare that taught him not to be. But Beto/Beta has a strategy to show his toughness

Now imagine if part of their pitch to the public had been the following: Men pretending to be women should compete against women in women’s sports, and, after the women lose to the men, they should be forced to shower with them; People should be judged not on their merit or even their economic class, but on their skin color, and, moreover, those with skin colors who commit murder

Denver is in financial trouble. They ran a $50 million deficit this year, which is projected to balloon to $200 million next year. Denver’s expenses are systematically exceeding its revenues. Real-world entities would address this problem with a combination of (1) increasing their revenues and (2) decreasing their expenses. But Denver is not a real-world entity. It’s a government entity. It plans to do what governments do in government-world: It plans to borrow money. A lot of it. They’re putting on the ballot a bond proposal amounting to almost a billion dollars. By the time the bonds are paid off with interest years down the road, it would amount to nearly two billion.

Pope Leo XIV continues to make thinly veiled jibes against the Trump administration’s stance against illegal immigration. Speaking in front of thousands of pilgrims at St. Peter’s Square on Sunday, Leo warned that migrants must not be treated with “the coldness of indifference or the stigma of discrimination.” Without singling out any country in particular, Leo said that Catholics should “open our arms and hearts to them, welcoming them as brothers and sisters, and being for them a presence of consolation and hope.” Leo explained that the church was living through a “new missionary age” that tasked its members with providing “hospitality and welcome, compassion and solidarity” to migrants coming to the West.

It was number one — it politicizes more the military, which is what you don’t want to do. As someone who has sat in briefings of that nature, it really tells you what’s happening. Environmental activist Greta Thunberg has reportedly told officials from her native Sweden that she is being held in a bug-infested cell with little food or water and is being made to hold Israeli flags for photos. Thunberg, 22, was one of 437 activists, parliamentarians and lawyers who set out from Europe to deliver aid to Gaza by breaching Israel's 16-year maritime blockade of the enclave as part of the Freedom Flotilla, comprised of more than 40 vessels. Between Wednesday and Friday, Israel's navy intercepted all the boats and arrested every person onboard while in international waters. A federal judge in Oregon temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s plan to deploy hundreds of National Guard troops to Portland — the same day federal agents unleashed tear gas and mace on anti-ICE agitators after more than 100 straight days of unrest. US District Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump nominee, ruled Saturday that deploying active-duty troops to secure the “war ravaged” Oregon city would violate the US Constitution and federal law barring military involvement in domestic law enforcement. “The relationship between the federal government and the states, between the military and domestic law enforcement, and the balance of powers between the executive,

A food aid program that helps more than 6 million low-income mothers and young children will run out of federal money within two weeks unless the government shutdown ends, forcing states to use their own money to keep it afloat or risk it shutting down, experts say. The $8 billion Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, also known as WIC, provides vouchers to buy infant formula as well as fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat milk and other healthy staples that are often out of financial reach for low-income households. The shutdown, which began Wednesday, coincided with the beginning of a new fiscal year, meaning programs like WIC,

The Democrats have backed themselves into a corner again, and this time, it’s not just political theater—it’s a standoff with serious consequences. The shutdown began when Senate Democrats refused to support a short-term funding bill that would have kept government agencies running through November 21. Their justification?

He was also an aspirational figure -- a fearless patriot who enjoyed the luxuries that men dream of. The posters were in synch with the minimalist, mysterious,
