On Monday, during an appearance on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” Gov. JB Pritzker (D-IL) said that the Trump administration was normalizing the presence of the military in cities, allowing them to use these forces to confiscate ballot boxes and recount votes to alter unfavorable results of the 2026 midterm elections.
Pritzker said, “The broader goal, I believe, is the militarization of major American cities before the 2026 elections. Let me be clear about what’s going on on the streets of Chicago. They have dressed ICE and CBP in fatigues, put them in military gear, including with automatic weapons, and had them marching up

Twenty years ago, when Dan Rather was pushed out from CBS News following a controversial 2004 report on former President George W. Bush’s National Guard service, it was a massive scandal. While many remember it for being predicated upon shaky documents, it was also incredibly prophetic about the future media landscape: One that’s rapidly consumed by corporate interests, political pressure and the erosion of editorial independence.
After a 24-year tenure in the anchor chair of the “CBS Evening News,” Rather did not depart quietly. “They sacrificed support for independent journalism for corporate financial gain, and in so doing, I think they undermined a lot at CBS News,”

As RedState’s Susie Moore reported Monday, the FBI revealed bombshell information that former Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team spied on nearly a dozen GOP senators as part of the "Arctic Frost" investigation into January 6th and the 2020 election. According to documents released by Director Kash Patel, Smith and his gang allegedly tracked the phone calls of GOP Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, Josh Hawley of Missouri, Cynthia Lummis of Wyoming, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Tommy Tuberville of Alabama and GOP Rep. Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania.

China is actively preparing for war against the United States. The signs are obvious and ominous.
During the Biden regime, we saw the first signs of it. The Chinese began a campaign of "elite capture" in the Western Pacific, quietly buying legislators until they controlled the parliaments of at least eight nations and then negotiating defense agreements, that, in the case of the Solomon Islands, gives China the right to deploy troops there to put down civil unrest; see China Seeks to Buy Eight Pacific Island Nations While Joe Biden and His State Department Are Comatose – RedState. Part of this was undoubtedly due to Joe being afraid to upset Xi

We live in ugly times — made uglier, and ever more violent, by the institutional left.
White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller didn’t mince words this weekend: “There is a large and growing movement of leftwing terrorism in this country,” he declared on X.
“It is shielded by far-left Democrat judges, prosecutors and attorneys general. The only remedy is to use legitimate state power to dismantle . . . terror networks.”
Progressives like Stephen King shrieked “extremist!” in response, but example after example backs Miller’s point.

A majority of registered voters believe that Republicans will win the shutdown fight, a survey from Harvard-Harris found.
The survey asked respondents, “Who do you think will win the government shutdown — the Democrats or the Republicans?”
Across the board, 62 percent said Republicans will win the shutdown fight, while just 38 percent expressed confidence that Democrats will emerge victorious.
Republicans are overwhelmingly confident that they will win — 92 percent — and most independents, 62 percent, also believe Republicans will emerge as the victors.
However, 70 percent of Democrats believe they will win the shutdown battle

Illinois filed a lawsuit Monday in an attempt to block the Trump administration from deploying federalized National Guard troops on the streets of Chicago, but the judge assigned to the case indicated she wouldn't take any action until Thursday at the earliest.
Attorneys for the state had urged U.S. District Judge April Perry to issue a ruling immediately//snip//The judge said she needed time to go through the government's response to the suit and scheduled a hearing for Thursday, and she declined to sign the state's temporary restraining order in the meantime.

FBI/Justice Department special counsel — and unconstitutionally appointed Biden attack dog — Jack Smith tracked the private communications of multiple Republican senators, according to a shocking new allegation.
Smith, whom U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon ruled was unconstitutionally appointed to go after then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, has a myriad of scandals in his past — including accusations of witness payoffs and illegal wiretaps from former Rep. Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.). But this new scandal shows that the scope of Smith’s sketchy activities under the Biden administration was much larger than previously realized.

One of the key issues critics of Antifa's increased presence in front of the ICE building in Portland have been emphasizing over the last three months revolves around the fact that the Portland Police Department rarely, if ever, intervenes in the instances where agitators are aggressively harassing people and, in some cases, get violent with them.
We've documented it extensively here, including one very recent case involving TPM investigative reporter Katie Daviscourt, who was allegedly assaulted by a "peaceful protester" who appeared to deliberately wave a flag pole in her face, which Daviscourt says hit her in the eye, causing a black eye.

Even NBC’s Meet the Press couldn’t ignore the Democrats’ stunning hypocrisy over the government shutdown fight—and Hakeem Jeffries found himself on the defensive when Kristen Welker pressed him about it.
On Sunday morning, Welker challenged the House minority leader over his repeated claims that the current standoff is a “Republican shutdown,” pointing out that it’s Democratic senators—not Republicans—who are holding up the vote on a clean continuing resolution that would keep the government open.
“But let me ask you,” Welker began, “because you say this is a Republican shutdown. But it’s Democratic senators who are withholding their votes on what is called a clean resolution.

A federal judge on Sunday temporarily blocked the Trump administration from deploying any National Guard units to Oregon, including the California National Guard.
California and Oregon sought the temporary restraining order after the president sent guard members from California to Oregon earlier in the day.
On Saturday, the same judge temporarily blocked the administration from deploying Oregon National Guard troops to Portland.
A Pentagon spokesperson said in a statement that about 200 federalized members of the California National Guard who had been on duty around Los Angeles were being reassigned to Portland. Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek said about 100 arrived Saturday and around 100 more were en route Sunday.

Virginia’s Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones should drop out of the race “immediately,” President Donald Trump said Sunday, days after National Review reported a series of texts in which Jones fantasized about killing former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert.
“It has just come out that the Radical Left Lunatic, Jay Jones, who is running against Jason Miyares, the GREAT Attorney General in Virginia, made SICK and DEMENTED jokes,” Trump said, referring to NR’s report on a 2o22 text exchange between Jones and his former colleague, Republican House Delegate Carrie Coyner.
