Three non-citizens were arrested recently for illegally voting in Arkansas elections, as state officials are working to ensure only American citizens can vote.[snip] Griffin said an investigation was launched earlier this year when federal officials alerted state authorities about certain people whose voting records appeared incongruent with their citizenship status, adding Arkansas authorities partnered with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on the issue.

For the first time in months, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency building here was not besieged Wednesday night by Antifa creeps, who have clearly been scared off by the Trump administration’s increased presence on the ground. It's a funny thing, just as in President Trump’s crackdown on crime in Washington, D.C., once there are consequences for breaking the law, things get awfully quiet. It was obvious as I approached the facility just before nightfall that something had changed. Gone for the most part was the menacing gang of masked Antifa with their sticks and flagpoles that I had seen prowling the previous night.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon sent a message Friday to the anarchist-abetting Portland Police Bureau (PPB) and Portland’s leftist city attorney: unlawful policing will not be tolerated. Dhillon, who heads up the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, said her office has launched an investigation into Portland law enforcement after Antifa thugs allegedly attacked independent reporters during increasingly violent riots at the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Facility in South Portland. Police arrested Nick Sortor on Thursday on disorderly conduct charges following an altercation with the leftist protesters.

Virginia Democrat Attorney General candidate and former Del. Jay Jones fantasized in conversations with a former colleague about assassinating then-state House Speaker Todd Gilbert, a Republican, and “wished” death upon Gilbert’s children, a new report revealed Friday. The news comes after Republican state House Del. That kind of rhetoric has long been deployed by the assassination left to pre-justify and inspire violence

BOSTON — A federal appeals court in Boston ruled on Friday that the Trump administration cannot withhold citizenship from children born to people in the country illegally or temporarily, adding to the mounting legal setbacks for the president’s birthright order.
A three-judge panel of the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals became the fifth federal court since June to either issue or uphold orders blocking the president’s birthright order. The court concluded that the plaintiffs are likely to succeed on their claims that the children described in the order are entitled to birthright citizenship under the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment.

I'm far from an expert statistician, but I've learned a few things over the years about how people use and abuse statistics in order to make their political point. There are a lot of ways you can make a mild thing look absolutely horrific, all by presenting the statistics a certain way. In the Second Amendment debate, we see this a lot.
And, well, we're going to see it again, this time as domestic violence prevention advocates try to misrepresent the statistics to push for gun control. So, they're citing Everytown--a gun control organization that has a well-documented history of shady research--

Kavanaugh’s attempted assassination came as the court was preparing to overturn constitutional abortion rights, and it has become one of the highest-profile prosecutions in a rising trend of violence and threats against judges.

US District Judge Kenneth Karas sided with company Holtec International over New York State in a ruling issued last week that reversed the 2023 “Save The Hudson” law which sought to prevent the company from muddying the Hudson’s waters.
Holtec sued the Empire State last year, arguing that only the federal government had the right to regulate discharge of the Indian Point plant’s nuclear waste, which amounted to the 45,000-gallon sum, The New York Times reported.

Kyiv has pitched Washington on ways it could help the US replace Russia in oil sales to Europe — as President Trump pushes the continent to divest from Moscow’s energy sector to end its brutal war on Ukraine, The Post can exclusively reveal.
Pipelines deep beneath Ukraine’s surface could help funnel fuel either drilled in the country through the US-Ukraine mineral deal or shipped in from the US, Ukrainian Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk told The Post.
The potential partnership means American oil companies could replace Moscow in Europe’s energy sector.

The American people have woken up to the dangerous and hateful fraud that is the legacy media. According to Gallup, which has measured trust in mass media for 50 years, that trust just hit another record low. Only 28 percent trust the corporate media. Tee hee.
“Americans’ confidence in the mass media has edged down to a new low, with just 28% expressing a ‘great deal’ or ‘fair amount’ of trust in newspapers, television and radio to report the news fully, accurately and fairly,” reports Gallup.
“This is down from 31% last year and 40% five years ago.”
Tee hee.

The government of Russia confirmed on Wednesday that it would entirely disregard United Nations “snapback” sanctions on Iran reimposed this week after the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ruled Iran in violation of international laws governing nuclear development. Russia’s U.N. Ambassador, Vassily Nebenzia, said that the other members of the countries signing onto the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), or 2015 Iran nuclear deal, who agreed to the snapback sanctions and the Russian government would simply be living in “two parallel realities” and offered no suggestions for resolving the disconnect.

The Democrats appear to have miscalculated on triggering a government shutdown by a vast measure, which we started to see in motion mere hours after the Schumer Shutdown began on Oct. 1.
Then as my colleague Ward Clark wrote earlier on Thursday, President Trump signaled in a Truth Social post he was eager to sit down with OMB head Vought in the afternoon, to dig into what extraneous government spending might get cut--especially anything prized by the Democrats. We may have had a preview of this, though, from something Vought posted on his X account on Wednesday afternoon --

One thing we keep hearing from so-called Democrat "leaders" in Portland and at the state level in Oregon is that what's going on at the ICE facility is manageable, that they've got it under control, and that there's no need for the troop deployment ordered by President Trump. For example, Gov. Tina Kotek (D) proclaimed, "Portland and the State of Oregon believe in the rule of law and can manage our own local public safety needs." Portland's Democrat mayor, Keith Wilson, repeated the false talking point about there being no violence or lawlessness in his city.
"The president will not find violence or lawlessness here," Wilson said during a press conference.

Gov. Gavin Newsom late Wednesday denounced the Trump administration’s decision to cut funding for a hydrogen hub in California — one of the latest actions against green initiatives by the administration as it continues to embrace the “drill, baby, drill” slogan.
The rebuke followed the U.S. Department of Energy’s announcement of the termination of 223 projects approved under the Biden administration, including California’s ARCHES hydrogen hub, a project worth up to $1.2 billion and led by the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems.

Can anyone dismantle the administrative state?Only one president has had both the desire and opportunity to crush and disable the administrative state, but more importantly, end the Marxist dialectic that has infected and subsumed this nation and post-modern Western civilization.
Nixon wished to shrink the federal bureaucracy, but enemies inside the government would never allow him the opportunity, while Nixon himself, at the same time, enlarged the administrative state by creating the EPA.

A large fire erupted at a Los Angeles County refinery following an explosion on Thursday night.
Officers and firefighters responded to the Chevron refinery in El Segundo after receiving multiple reports of an explosion. The El Segundo Police Department is not aware of any immediate injuries or evacuations.
A witness said the explosion felt like a small earthquake.
The refinery has its own fire department. According to Chevron's website, the El Segundo refinery was constructed in 1911. The facility produces 276,000 barrels of crude oil every day and "is the largest producing oil refinery on the west coast,"

Notice how, now that the republic is embroiled in the Schumer Shutdown, Democrats are suddenly all a-twitter about Republican claims that they were favoring healthcare benefits for illegal aliens at taxpayer expense? Well, let's hop in the Wayback Machine and have Mr. Peabody take us back to 2020, and the Democratic Party's presidential primary debate. Remember this? Here's the question from NBC News' Savannah Guthrie that they are all answering in the affirmative:
You've been talking tonight about these government healthcare plans that you've proposed in one form or another. This is a show of hands question,

The religion of Islam teaches that raping and killing non-Muslims is a holy and necessary action. Is it any surprise, therefore, that some of the Muslim immigrants to Europe and America admit frankly that their goal is, quite simply, conquest and transformation?
San Diego Imam Uthman Ibn Farooq delivered an address in Birmingham, Great Britain, which should chill the heart of every American patriot. America and Europe will be Muslim, the imam excitedly predicted, urging his fellow Muslims not to water down a single word of their religion, which includes explicit commands to rape, assault, conquer, and murder “infidels.” The imam even referenced a desire to be a “martyr,”

Thursday on CNN’s “The Arena,” Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) said President Donald Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth’s meeting of military commanders on Tuesday was a crazy “disgrace.”
Crow said, “Packing hundreds of general officers, generals and admirals into a room so they could be lectured by Pete Hegseth on woke culture war issues and grooming standards is not something that you see in the United States of America or should see in the United States of America. That’s something that Vladimir Putin would do. That’s something that Kim Jong Un would do, or Xi

Thursday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” Rep. Madeleine Dean (D-PA) said President Donald Trump was “unhinged and unwell.”
Discussing a conversation with Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), Dean said, “I told him how deeply concerned I am that the president is unhinged and unwell, and our allies are noticing it, and they’re looking elsewhere for support, and our enemies are enjoying it, and they are emboldened by it.”
Host John Berman said, “You just called the president unwell again. What do you mean by that?”
Dean said, “Well, he’s aging, aren’t we all?

Thursday on MSNBC’s “All In,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said President Donald Trump’s second term has become “the worst crisis in America literally since the Civil War.”
Host Chris Hayes said, “You’ve have been in you’ve served in Congress, in the Senate, you served through a number of different administrations with different presidents. I’ve covered a number of shutdowns. I’ve never seen a president during a shutdown kind of gloating about the ability to punish people or to take stuff away from people in states that didn’t vote for him. Have you seen that before?

In 1956's The Ten Commandments, after Yul Brynner's Pharaoh released the Hebrew slaves from bondage, his Queen, Nefertiri, played by Anne Baxter, was bitter at losing her son in the final plague God brought on Egypt during the first Passover. She uttered the question, dripping with condescension, "Do you hear laughter, Pharaoh?" The same laughter of mocking and derision is cascading down on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and the rest of the Congressional and Senate Democrats in the wake of the Schumer shutdown, now entering Day 2.
If there has to be a government shutdown, October is as good a month as any

Readers may remember Chubby Checker's big hit, "Limbo Rock." The calypso-inspired song hit #2 on Billboard and took the top spot on Casbox in 1962, and remains a staple on oldies stations. The repeated phrase, "How low can you go?", still inspires backaches and laughter at parties, especially after a few drinks.
Well, executives at Protection Racket Media outlets may need more drinks to get past the latest data from Gallup on trust in their product. As it turns out, "how low can you go" has been a mission statement as well as a refrain. Today's iteration of their longitudinal surveys on media confidence hit a new low ... again:

CHICAGO — The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a ban on private drone flights over the entire City of Chicago and stretching into the northern, western and southern suburbs.
“Temporary flight restrictions for Special Security Reasons” is the stated reason for the drone ban, which began Wednesday and continues through Oct. 12. An FAA spokesperson referred questions about the reasons behind the ban to Homeland Security, which did not respond to a request for comment from WGN Investigates. The ban comes at a time of heightened tension in Chicago as federal immigration agents have been carrying out unannounced operations and arrests. It’s unclear if the two are connected.
