Does California Want To Start A Civil War?

The California Legislature passed, and Gov. Gavin Newsom eagerly signed, a bill that forbids law enforcement officers from concealing their identities with masks. The law applies to local as well as federal officers, but it’s clearly intended to make it easier to dox federal immigration agents. Of course the administration says it will ignore the law. So what happens when local and state officers try to enforce it? A war? California also forbids federal agents from enforcing immigration law in state courthouses. The thing about California that many out-of-staters don't realize is that other than the blue cities, it is very red, and very well-armed. If we wanted to brush aside the Gavin Newson Brigades, we could. Starting with him. As for me and my family, we're out of here in a few weeks. AM...you know the rest

If Newsom can find someone in local or California law enforcement to go out and interfere with federal law enforcement and arrest a federal agent who is wearing a mask while carrying out federal law enforcement duties. What will happen is the appropriate US Attorney will have the case removed to the Federal Courts where the matter will be dismissed, and the California law will be ruled to be unconstitutional. Thus making the politically grandstanding Newsome look stupid!

Newsom's unconstitutional legislative stunt is nonsense but so is the idea of federal law enforcement officers routinely wearing masks. Nonsense vs. nonsense.

But this law sets up conflicts between law enforcement officers that could get bloody, even deadly. It’s an intentional provocation." Oh, wait. For anyone who might be eager for or ambivalent about a second civil war....I strongly recommend that you read Kurt Schlichter's latest book.....American Apocalypse: The Second Civil War. I have read it, and nothing in it surprised me. A war with 100% American dead will be hideous. One thing the consider....do you have enough stored food for your family to survive for 2 years of empty grocery stores? Essentially no one does, including me.

It's difficult to understand why all police in California don't just quit their jobs since they are not allowed to enforce the law but then standing around all day and being paid for doing nothing is the ideal job for some people. It works for their firemen too.

#7, storing enough food for two years is not difficult but defending it from the hungry hordes who did not store any food would be the challenge. That requires two years worth of ammunition.

If an armed man comes to my door with his face hidden, he is an enemy who intends to do me harm. Should a convenience store clerk just smile and wave at the guy in the ski mask? Should the cab driver let the guy in with his hat pulled down over his face? People who wear masks are never the good guys. This aint Batman or the Lone Ranger.

#7. Reading it now and agree 100% on a national scale. California standing alone, with its “blue male” urban demographics consisting largely of soyboys and street vermin, could be a different story. Then again, they would likely get a lot of outside (and foreign) help. They’d need it.

If Newsom and the left had not condoned harassing and threatening ICE agents and their families their would not have had to resort to masks to protect their families and themselves. There have been numerous attempts to kill ICE agents by leftist wackos.

Since the only masses of Lefties in Calif are in the larger coastal cities, with all of their power, electricity, fuel, water and food having to come over narrow mountain pass roads and rail, easily blockaded, and from the sea....also easily blockaded.Powerlines easily turned off, pipelines easily turned off. #11. The federal officers who are wearing masks while enforcing federal law that I have seen were all wearing tactical uniforms that identify them as being Police, ICE, US Border Patrol, FBI, ATF, DEA, or US MARSHAL. It’s their tactical uniforms and badges that give them the authority to apprehend offenders and not what their face looks like. Those federal law enforcement crews are not about to show up at your home unless you are a potential witness, or you are a suspected offender. In any case it is not a good idea to become aggressive towards law enforcement officers, either, local, state, or federal dressed in tactical uniforms!

It’s been amusing to watch the left’s reaction to ABC giving the boot to Jimmy Kimmel. Not because of their rank hypocrisy when it comes to censorship. Or their claim that firing a low-rated late-night “comic” means “authoritarianism has arrived.” Or the fact that they are far more outraged that Kimmel lost his time slot than that Charlie Kirk lost his life over things they said. What’s most amusing is how blissfully ignorant they are about how the news and entertainment industry works these days. First, let’s dispense with the censorship ruse. ABC is a private company and is entitled

Given the national anguish and pain over the assassination of Charlie Kirk, you might think that the leftist big media would at least be treading softly right now, especially given the overwhelming evidence that’s already been made public about Kirk’s alleged assassin. But you would be wrong. We’ve already addressed the lies and exaggerations told about Kirk to somehow justify his murder. Now the left is trying to come up with a counter-narrative about his assassin. Kirk wasn’t murdered by an unhinged leftist; he was killed by a MAGA adherent. It’s a lie on stilts. It’s safe to say that no one knew the scope of Charlie Kirk’s influence until after his death. What he was able to achieve on college campuses has no parallel. This country desperately needs someone who will do the same in our big cities. Charlie – we feel it’s more appropriate, more human to use his first name rather than his last last name, a traditional newspaper treatment that under the circumstances feels vulgar – was known for his argument that college was a scam. But his real contribution was challenging students to cast off the conditioning that has been imposed on

All last year, we were treated to a steady stream of stories about the “huge” and “baffling” gap between the public’s negative views about the economy and its “actual performance.” Our favorite “economist” Paul Krugman was apoplectic. “Why are so many Americans still telling pollsters that the economy is in bad shape” when “it’s hard to overstate just how good recent economic numbers have been.” Last week, the government issued two reports that explain why. And the reason is simple. The experts were wrong. The public was right. On Tuesday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, after a string of glaring mistakes in its jobs

The assassination of Charlie Kirk was unlike anything any of us on the Issues & Insights editorial board have seen in our lifetimes. Kirk didn’t hold any political power. He wasn’t rich. He didn’t call for or incite violence. He was a young man of strong beliefs who enjoyed debating other young people on the big issues of the day. And for that, he was brutally murdered. You’d think this would cause even his fiercest critics to stop for a moment and take stock in what just happened. If only out of consideration for his wife and two young children.

With the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, the far left seems to be morphing into a kind of political death cult. No longer satisfied with trying to win elections, the far left and its allies now routinely seem to wish instead for their political foes to die, and even to excuse political murder. It was just two weeks ago that many on the left were wringing their hands in glee as they fantasized and wished for President Donald Trump’s death after he took a few days off from the stresses of his office. If Americans were asked to vote right now on whether the Federal Reserve should continue existing, the central bank might have a tough time staying in business. Why? Voters overwhelmingly think interest rates and prices are too high and that the Fed is not doing enough to bring them down, as the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows. There’s no question that average Americans are keenly awaiting a cut in interest rates. And that anticipation no doubt grew last Friday after the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported a meager 22,000 jobs created in August, with unemployment hitting 4.3%, its highest point since October 2021.
