Given the national anguish and pain over the assassination of Charlie Kirk, you might think that the leftist big media would at least be treading softly right now, especially given the overwhelming evidence that’s already been made public about Kirk’s alleged assassin. But you would be wrong. We’ve already addressed the lies and exaggerations told about Kirk to somehow justify his murder. Now the left is trying to come up with a counter-narrative about his assassin. Kirk wasn’t murdered by an unhinged leftist; he was killed by a MAGA adherent. It’s a lie on stilts. When President Donald Trump tapped economist EJ Antoni to head the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the elites in Washington clucked their thick tongues. Antoni might have a doctorate in economics, but he’s not “widely recognized”! He’s tweeted some things that turned out wrong! Worse still, he seems to like Trump!

The left is in the middle of a full-blown manic response over Jimmy Kimmel's show being indefinitely preempted after a decision by affiliates and ABC. This followed Kimmel's disgraceful remarks alleging MAGA was desperately trying to spin the narrative that Kirk's accused killer wasn't one of them. That flew in the face of facts that the authorities have laid out regarding the case, and frankly, could deceive the public. ABC decided to pull the show after its Nexstar affiliate called the comments "offensive." That sparked a meltdown from Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who blamed Trump.

In 1965, the Four Seasons released “Bye Bye Baby.” Today, there is a new top hit called “Bye Bye Jimmy,” referring to the recently suspended Jimmy Kimmel. A few years earlier, in 1962, NBC premiered “The Tonight Show” featuring Johnny Carson. It was ranked as one of the greatest T.V. shows of all time. Carson was funny and entertaining. Although he interviewed past presidents including Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton, he “refused to discuss his personal political views on the show out of concern it might alienate his audience.
Several decades later, ABC launched “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in 2003.
It continues to astound me that there are some issues out there that should transcend various factions in the Republican Party, that should be a rallying cry for every right-leaning person contending to be motivated by moral decency, and the party still can't come together to take a stand.
Perhaps it's naiveté on my part.
