Commentary: Randi Weingarten’s Fallacious

American Federation of Teachers (AFT) president Randi Weingarten has written Why Fascists Fear Teachers: Public Education and the Future of Democracy, a book she claims will empower us and give us hope. The problem is that every word coming from the union boss’s mouth is nonfactual lefty claptrap. You don’t need to buy the book to understand what I mean. In an interview with a sycophant at The Progressive, a far-left magazine that covers politics and culture, Weingarten claims that “the undermining of public education is an intentional strategy of the right; they favor school privatization.” Wrong.

No, Randi, the undermining of education isn’t coming from the Right, it comes from Leftists like you and your flying monkeys who have managed to create a generation of youngsters who are functionally illiterate.

Ms. Weingarten started out fighting the remnants of the old Communist-line New York Teacher's Union. Ironically she ends her career having transformed the entire American Federation of Teachers into a far-left replica of the old Teacher's Union right down to their language (opponents are still "fascists" but "white chauvinism" is now "white privilege.")

No Randi, it is you left-wing nut jobs who are indoctrinating our kids instead of teaching them true facts and how to read and comprehend the subject. Our national test scores are abysmal. We are in a world-wide market and in competition with other countries for markets and goods. But, all your ilk are concerned about is talking kids into changing their genders.

Any attempt to change leftwing indoctrination to a genuine education is like showing a cross to a vampire for the AFT.

We prefer independent teachers who don't answer to the demands of a union that has an agenda other than the education of free-thinking students. Unfortunately, the union is a complicit branch of the democrat party and a huge source of money and votes. One would think that the president of a teachers' union would be smart as a way of setting an example but that is obviously not the case. Also unfortunate is the fact that most teachers adopt the mindset of their unions and become rabid leftists.

Miss Weingarten is misrepresenting the facts. Test results have consistently proven that the private choice school students perform better in reading and math than students in unionized public schools. It is the left that has opposed the superior private schools that the right supports.

Ogles wrote in a post to the social media platform X on Tuesday, “The irony of it all is that this woman supposedly fights for the rights of the accused, yet in the case of a political assassination, Esperanza stands with the killers.”

Hours later, Yanez (pictured above) wrote in another post, “demanding empathy for a hateful person like this is insane,”

Metro Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell on Friday said it was “absurd” for U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) to comment on the violent crime rate in Nashville, where FBI data reportedly ranked it among the 10 American cities with the highest violent crime rate. Ogles accused the mayor of being “asleep on the job” and called for the Tennessee National Guard to be deployed in the city. Ogles made the remarks after President Donald Trump said he would consider deploying the National Guard to Memphis following his administration’s success at reducing crime in Washington, D.C., urging the president, “send them to Nashville,” in a post to the social media platform X.

Neither Rascoe Dean of the Nashville-based Sherrard Roe Voight & Harbison, nor Sean Hecker of the New York law firm, Hecker & Fink, replied to the Thursday morning request from The Star to clarify their Saturday filing, which revealed the existence of the plea deal for the first time.

Asked by The Tennessee Star to comment on the video on Friday, the university directed The Star to a public statement published Thursday, revealing the independent law firm, Baker Donelson, was retained by the university to “conduct an independent review” of the incident.
